"My thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations."
Sometimes, in the midst of all your troubles, you seem to become paralyzed. Like how the rollie polies, under threat, will curl themselves up into a cocoon and rest until their threat leaves them.
In some ways, this is how Andromeda felt as Friar approached her from the side. At length, he looked like a flash of white with a crystalline blue eye. What she imagined she saw frightened her into a state of paralysis, causing her to barely hear what Friar said to her.
She looked up, slowly, in fear, but seeing it was only her friend, she settled, her heaving chest beginning to relax into a normal beat.
"Are you okay?” Andromeda heard him say, almost in a frenzy. "What happened, Andromeda? Who did this to you?" The mare opened her mouth to say something, but then snapped it shut. Friar began to reassure her, slowly nuzzling her neck. This surprised Andromeda, who had not seen Friar affectionate since...well, since she arrived here. Then, a puff of his breath blew into her face, moving her hair to the side and exposing her scar. Presently, the mare let out a laugh that sounded almost panicked. She hadn’t a clue of what to do - should she tell who did this to her? Should she reveal the identity of the horse she had so long tried to repress? The answer was hidden deep in the feminine’s cranium. She trusted her fellow herd members, especially Friar...but what of her sister? Would Slade hurt the only family she had left? Friar’s angry gruff made it seem as though he might hurt her too, what if he did? Didn’t she owe it to her herd to tell them of the lingering danger? But...didn’t she owe it to her sister to keep her mouth shut?
Andromeda decided she owed nothing to the sister who had betrayed her, but her heart was not in the admittance of what had happened. Her sister was an evil, immoral piece of work, but she was still her sister.
Andromeda’s head turned up to Friar and tears began to silently stream down her face.
“Um...someone...” She swallowed. “Attacked me. By the falls. It went by so quickly I had zero time to catch their face but I think they were...” She let herself exhale. “white...yes, they were white...” Her voice trailed and she looked back down to the grass. She had given them an indication of who this was, without actually telling them. This wasn’t betrayal on either ends, was it? Flustered, Andromeda stood and looked into Friar’s eyes, silently telling him that she was sorry, before stumbling towards the river.

Justa Good Fella
Ready to start a life
The perlino had watched as the mare before him swished her tail and softly seemed to release a smile. However, with Caruso's loner knowledge, he knew not to be fooled by her sudden change in attitude. He had first saw her kicking trees as hard as she possibly could and being all pissy. Sure, a pure could be pissy, not like it wasn't allowed or something, but then again something about her seemed just slightly off. Caruso mildly shrugged it off and listened as the mare began to speak.
/No im not from that herd Sir/ The perlino heard first as he let himself glance over towards the direction he had heard the stallions whinny from, still curious about them, now more then ever considering there was a random mare circling the border rather pissed off too. His glance then shifted back to the mare as she told him her name was Cali and that she was just angry and thats why she was kicking the tree. Caruso took it in and responded back rather quickly, taking a few steps forward and almost passed the mare a little before stopping to speak.
"No need for the Sir." he first voiced, almost serious though he didn't really mind either way, but it was just slightly awkward, made him feel old or something. Eyes still transfixed on the potential herd to the north as Caruso spoke up once again, out of the ordinary for him too. Usually the stag was a equine of such few short words. He didn't like conversation much, he was more of a action type of guy. His voice almost always seemed soft and almost nervous just because he always seemed to prefer not talking unless he had to keep the conversation going with his own ideas.
Now, was that time. The mare had gave him her name and just said she was angry and thats why she was kicking the tree. So here the perlino was, up to him to keep any sort of words flowing. Taking a small breath he opened his maw with an attempt. "So your not from the herd, then where are you from? And do you know anything of the herd? I'm curious." Listening devices flicked atop his poll as he took in the sounds of small animals around him, the wind, and hopefully more sounds from the herd.
Making up his mind anyway, the stag began to take a few steps forward, curiosity had gotten the best of him and he wasn't interested in waiting around with a random ticked off mare to see what became of the meeting. No, he wanted more, he wanted to be a little bit nosey. A few more steps then gapped the distance between the mare and he as he turned his head to look to her and speak a final time. "I'm going to check them out. Your choice to come or not."
He left the choice up to her but his mind had been made up. Stones hitting the ground softly as he traversed the lands, the forest slowly starting to thin out a little bit as he seemed to be heading for a cliff and a babbling creek. With each step his senses were confirmed. As he halted he stood atop a large waterfall and cliff looking far down below into a valley full of equines. He couldn't make out much more then coat colors as they all looked like little dots from here. Caruso was on the north end by the falls and most of the equines seemed to be on the south end by what looked like a dead end.
Questioning to himself, the stag couldn't really seem to spy a good way to get down in there either. The waterfall had no path and the cliff looked unforgiving. The south end looked blocked off, but it was the only way he could think of as to how the equines got in there. Or maybe someway to traverse the cliff on the east or west? Puzzled he waited a moment, to see if Cali had followed, and if she did, maybe she knew a way in. Right now, Caruso really wanted to slip into the herd, to stay in the shadows and watch how they operated before ever asking to possibly join. The stag wanted to make sure his next herd was one he'd like to stay in this time. Wind picked up atop the cliff pulling his mane and tail around his bodice as the perlino stood in the sun happily waiting.

I knew you were trouble... The painted stag had waited as Bones had spoke back to him, she didn't know what had happened to Andro, that she was just hurt when the mare had found her. Nodding a reply Slade then looked back down to the mare at his feet ans softly nudged her neck once more. Suddenly, the large mare awoke and started spitting out questions as fast as she could. Muttering to ask how everyone was. Quickly, Slade nudged her as she began to lay back down, probably because she took standing far to quickly after her injuries of course. Without much hesitation, he answered.
"Everyone's alright Andro. Bones, Hael, the colt, everyone. No need to worry about them, just worry about yourself and hopefully feeling better. Can I ask what happened?"
Following his words the lead had looked up to see Friar standing before them. Happy that the large stag came to his call, Slade waited as he seemed quite concerned with Andromeda's state. Which of course, was to be expected. Slade hadn't seen much, well, activity in Friar really since he arrived. He always seemed cast back in the shadows, away from everyone almost like he didn't belong. The lead figured it was just his nature to not speak unless spoken to, and maybe he was more of a reserved and quite type. However, ever since Andro had come along the large stag seemed to perk up a bit. A little more light seemed to glimmer in his eyes, his frame and movements a little more meaningful and his expression ever so slightly changed.
It made Slade happy to know that some pairs seemed to be getting along wonderfully, and has Friar questioned Andro, he also comforted her too. nudging and rubbing her softly, you could tell, deeply concerned about how she had become injured. Looking to the large bodied stag Slade began to speak. "She was attacked. Bones found her. Beyond that much I don't know except she lost conciousness for a minute or so there." His words were hardly helpful as he glanced between the pair, Friar clearly very concerned about Anrdo, but who wouldn't be? One of Slade's own was brutally attacked out of the blue.
Suddenly, something caught the corner of Slade's eye as he turned to focus on what had made him change his focus. It was Hael's colt, he had finally stood on his own two feet and managed to stand for a moment before loosing his wobbely legs once again. However, just the small feat was enough joy to fill Slade's heart in this horrid time. He almost squealed with excitement for the little man before his seemed to push himself among his little legs again, but then slowly and unsteadily make his way towards Bones. Slade smiled almost as wide as his mouth could go while watching the scene. The little man had managed to walk to Bones and then stick his wee nose under her in search of his first meal. Laughing softly Slade looked on as Hael seemed to come back to conciousness as well. Finally, things seemed to be looking up as an utter cry echoed through his lands. Hael had yelled 'MOUSE' as loud as she could. Assuming that was the new little colts name, Slade laughed again as Bones kind of wrapped her neck around and pushed the colt away from her under belly.
Softly, Slade could hear Bones words from where he stood. “No no little one, your mother is over here,” "Hes beautiful Hael." Still, heart overwhelming with joy, even though Andro was still hurt and there was still possibly a loose cannon of an equine wandering his lands, at least things started to look up. Andro had regained consciousness,, Friar had came to his call, Bones had returned to Slade's side, Hael had awaken as well, and the little man now presumeably named Mouse had finally made it up on his little legs. However, Slade still had to get down to business and fix the situation at hand. But before he did he could hear Bones' voice as she asked him what she could do next.
Knowing that she was exhausted and really just needed the sleep, Slade nudged the mares next softly and spoke kindly. "You have done plenty Bones. I can handle the rest. Thank you so much for everything, really. That little colt is here, safe and sound because of you, Hael is awake and Andro is safe here with Friar and I. ALL thanks to you. Now go.." he spoke as he nudged her a few more times softly. "Go get some rest you really deserve."
Still, the stag thought back about how he had screwed up laying next to her after the whole ordeal with her father. He had said all the wrong things, she had gotten pissed at him and thats when Hael's cry rang through the lands. Letting out a soft sigh as he flashed back before he heard Andro's voice pick up. Tears were also welling up on the mare as Slade had changed his glance to her, rolling down her face as she answered Friar's question. Andromeda had mentioned how her attack had gone by so quickly, but her attacker had been white. Well, it wasn't much, but was something. Slade knew the only white colored equine's in his lands were Cora, though she was a white paint, and Hael, and well, Slade had known what she was up to the whole time, you know being unconscious of course.
Knowing then that the attack had to come from an outside source. However, he had planned to use Friar as his boarder patrol, though the large grey mare seemed to take quite a liking to the massive stag, and Slade could see it was the same for Friar. Deciding in his head, as Andro pushed herself to her daggers, Slade figured he would change rolls.
Walking a few steps closer to Friar the stag spoke kindly to the stag. "Thank you for coming to my call so quickly. It is greatly appreciated, really. When she went down I knew you would want to know." His eyes then flashing to Andro as she began to make her way to the creek, before picking his voice back up with Friar. "Take care of her ok? See to it that she soaks in the water a little to make her more comfortable, and that her wounds aren't anything life threatening please. Let me know your discovery's later. I'm going on the hunt for a white mare."
Eyes then narrowing slightly as Slade began to almost put a more stern and devious look about him. He hated when other equines messed with his family, and his herd, was his family. Before heading out however Slade then turned from Friar and walked over to Hael and the young colt. Smile then appearing across his kissers as his heart filled with a bit of joy for the pair. They both now seemed a bit more out of the words as far as health wise, and that was a huge weight off the leads shoulders. His muzzle slightly tipped out as he let the colt sniff him before running his white maw across the colts back, softly and warmly. His fur smelled, so different and was so soft and almost cuddly. Slade loved it. However, he then placed his attention on Hael and spoke softly. "Hope you don't mind the soft touch on him. He's perfect Hael, he really is. You've done great. I hope you start to recover quickly from the birth and you only get stronger now. Bone's should be sleeping not too far off, if you need her I'm sure she would help. Though, I don't quite think she liked the whole baby under her belly part." he smiled before laughing softly and finishing up his words to the gypsy mare. "Feed this cutie of yours and then get some rest. I'll be back before you know it."
With that, the lead stepped off, looking away from Hael, Mouse, Bones, Andro, Friar and everyone else. He beelined his way for the waterfalls as that was where Andro had been attacked. His legs picking up a quick trot as he paced through his lands, head held high, nares wide and muzzle tipped up into the air. Mane and tail flowing behind as he looked everywhere. He figured he'd at least be able to pick up a scent and as he traveresed his lands, thats just what he was trying to do. In the moment, Slade had so many things on his mind, he couldn't even decide which were the top most important.
However, then a thought had flicked into his head. He had called for two equines. Not just Friar, but Tilney as well, and of course, the stag never showed up. Slade was not surprised however. The stag had almost no respect for Tilney, though even when he tried to help him out, to let him watch his sons birth even though Hael didn't want him to even be there.. Then help out Blackbird of course, Slade came running to Tilneys call, but the stag had not even shown up to Slade's. Shaking his head, Slade had no clue what he was going to do. He wanted to get along with Tilney, he really did. He wanted to be able to make a good relationship with him, maybe he could be a good asset, but Tilney was making that all extremely hard and of course, Slade was a slow equine to forgive, IF he even could forgive. This, was not a good move for Tilney, but surely he could still work things out with Slade, if he tried.
Still walking around the edge of his lands Slades ears flicked across his poll as he watched, smelled and listened for signs of the intruder. His mind then switching to thoughts of Bones as he tried to come up with a clever and romantic way to say he was sorry for being such an idiot with his word choice. And then, well, to just come out with it and tell her he loved her. His only hesitation, was hoping she didn't get pissed at those words too...

Corabella The young paint mare was confused, her pale eyes flew open to the sound of Slade's call, she must have dozed off where she had been stood. Her pale eyes were once more failing her as everyone was stood too far away for the paint to see what was going on. With a gentle sigh she lifted her muzzle to the sky and curled her top lip, taking in all of the scents. She could smell yet another new foal, and a mare with said foal that she had yet to meet. Her ears went back however as he keen nostrils picked out the scent of fresh blood, her sense of smell was slightly advanced due to her less than adequate vision. She could place the blood with a mare and she tensed further. She had no idea who would hurt one of the herd mares. Copper radars flicked forwards as she caught another new scent, this one fading, but similar to the scent that matched the blood. Clearly an equine that had passed through... What if that is the scent of the attacker, you should say something Cora, you can track, your eyes may fail you but your nose does not.. Her mind chimed away as usual and her keen ears could hear Slade leaving, she was stuck for what to do, she didn't want to bug the lead or sound like she was bragging , she had no idea if he already had someone that could help him. Deciding it would be best to hint upon the idea she nickered softly as she heard Slade heading away from everyone. Her ears were fixed, one on the movements of their lead and the other on where she could hear the newborn foal and its mother. Her copper tail slapped at her flanks as she shifted her weight and she shook her head, ridding herself of the insects. Like her dam the little mare was a fast one to mature and she had an ache in her hind quarters that, though it was unknown to her signaled her oncoming heat. She still thought it to be aches and pains due to her long travelling weeks alone over the winter. She sighed softly and waited to see if Slade needed help or whether he had already gone out of range of her quiet vocals. She didn't know where the other Stallion had gone, Tilney, the one she had been talking too before, she couldn't make out his scent among everyone else. "And all the world's a stage..."
Calamity stared at the stallion. She realized, suddenly, that she would have to be more cunning and more Pure-like than she had previously come off as. She was a bit rusty, she supposed.
"So your not from the herd, then where are you from? And do you know anything of the herd? I'm curious." She heard the stag speak, his words as smooth as silk. She opened her mouth to speak, but before long the stallion had interrupted her once more. "I'm going to check them out. Your choice to come or not."
Calamity watched as the stag, Caru, began to leave, and smirked to herself. There wasn't a chance in hell that this stallion would be able to get himself to the other horses. He needed her, really. Cali assumed that this would be the ideal way to get herself into her sister's herd unscathed.
Calamity followed at a long distance behind Caruso, watching him from afar as he stopped on the hillside to look down upon the herd. She looked at his quizzical stare and found that this would be the perfect opportunity to work her magic.
"Caruso,"
She said from behind, her voice perking up as she got to the end of his name. "You won't get into these lands this way. However, I know a way down, if you'd like me to show you." The femme flipped her forelock. "Also, to answer your question from before, I am a loner. I come from this land but I left a long time ago. I know nothing of the herd other than that they live here in peace." She smiled slightly, disgusting herself at how Pure she could come off. It wasn't a bad thing, she guessed, because it did give her advantages like this. She strode up to his side and stood beside him, staring down at the horses below her. They were just dots in the mass scheme of things...in a way, she felt like God, a ruler of them all. Calamity turned to look at Caru.
"It's your choice to come or not." She said in the same manner he had. "Whatever you want to do Caruso." It wasn't like her to let others decide for her, but for the moment, she let it happen. Maybe, in the near future, the way she faked this would pay off.
At least she hoped.

Friar Friar watched out of the corner of his eye as Hael's stumbling new foal finally caught four hooves and managed to keep himself off the ground. It brought a faint, if even visible at all, smile to the draft's mug. Long faded memories of foals and little wobbly newborns swam in his mind, and he realized that he hadn't seen anything so young and innocent in a very long time. It put Friar at ease, just absently watching the Hael's foal- Mouse, apparently- stand on his own and try his best to hover about the ground. The shire stallion lifted his head in amused surprise as the colt flocked to Bones almost immediately. The mare's shock only added to the comical aspects to their entire situation. What a dysfunctional family he'd gotten himself into. He didn't think he'd want another one though, of any kind. This mass of mismatched equines had grown on him. Much like algae or a leech, but grew on him all the same.
Friar brought his attention easily back onto Andromeda, whose expression turned from that of surprise to careful contemplation. He wondered quietly to himself what she was putting herself through, trying to answer these prodding questions. Although the stallion knew close to nothing of the mare, he could only hope that she wasn't beating herself up on the inside. It wasn't until he was watching tears roll down Andromeda's face did his heart really tighten in sympathetic twists. Perhaps it was the years of suppressing all emotion and expressions from the surface, and it all had finally flooded over somewhere inside him. Or perhaps he'd just distanced himself so intensely from anyone. But either way it went, Friar felt near physical pain at watching the mare cry.
His expression fell, watching her with careful hesitation as she described her attacker, and subsequently left. He looked after Andromeda's retreating figure for a long time, feeling personally sad for her distress and just aching to find the source and make it disappear, if not only for the draft mare then for the herd in general. Friar tore his eyes away to look back at Slade, who addressed him with a sense of respect that was pleasant, if foreign, to his ears.
/Take care of her ok? See to it that she soaks in the water a little to make her more comfortable, and that her wounds aren't anything life threatening please./
Friar slowly nodded, letting the commands sink in with a sort of wary conviction. Even with orders from the lead stallion, Friar was hesitant to follow Andromeda and invade her space again. It seemed everytime he meant to talk with her, she was hurting or fleeing and he wanted anything but to be a bother to her. In any way. He hovered in the small clearing with Bones, Mouse, and Hael for a small time, hoping to give Andro as much time as he felt he could before he did need to check on her. Even so, he nodded several times to himself, willing courage to urge him forward until it finally did so and he was stepping towards the direction the draft mare had gone alone. Friar had assumed she'd traveled to the river, and heading the same path. He quieted his feet and breathed slowly as well, ears swishing about his cranium in constant awareness.
It wasn't long before he caught sight of her, and he took a deep breath for himself before picking up his feet and trotting slowly towards the mare. "Andro! Hey, please wait up!" He called ahead, if only to alert her of his presence and not send her running down the plains and further away.

""My thoughts are stars I can't fathom into constellations.""
Andromeda stood in the same place for a long time, close the the waterfall, watching it crash into the raging river, spraying a mist of liquid into the air as it did. It soaked her coat, washing away any remaining dried blood off of her coat.
The large dappled mare sighed, bending her head to take a large drink from the stream. It felt good running down her dry throat - soothing it so it no longer burned with anxiety. Then, Andromeda stared a long time at her reflection. Her scar swept over so easily on her face; it was etched perfectly from ear to chin, clear of hair and fleshy pink in color. Andromeda watched a tear roll over the scar and soak into the fur on her face. The blemish no longer looked like a terrible reminder of where she had been...it was almost telling to her where she could go from here.
Andromeda swallowed and took a deep breath. She wasn’t going to let Calamity or the Envious ruin her life any longer. If her sister came back, she’d confront her, as terrifying as it was to do so. And when she did, Slade would run her off the lands so quick she wouldn’t be able to get in a word edgewise.
“Andro! Hey, please wait up!" Andromeda heard a voice call from behind her. She turned her head to see Friar, ears perked in her direction. The mare smiled to herself and nickered softly back.
“I don’t have to wait up Friar, I’m not moving.” She said, chuckling half-heartedly. No matter what she said to herself, the thought of her sister returning still scared her. When Friar finally got up to her, she nodded at him. “Hi, Friar.” She said quietly, flicking her tail back and forth gently.
Andromeda liked Friar. He was the first to greet her and the first to show any compassion towards her, even if it was just the slightest bit. She liked knowing there was someone she could talk to, even if Friar wasn’t much of a talking type. It was nice having a friend.
For once in her life.

Justa Good Fella
Ready to start a life
The stag had waited atop the cliff as the mare finally caught up and spoke back to him. First, she told him that he wouldn't be able to get down this way, and then she finished by saying that she was a loner and just knew that this herd lived in peace. Finding it a bit curious that she knew how to get into the lands even though it seemed nearly impossible from the naked eye looking in, and the fact that she was a loner just browsing around outside the borders kicking trees... Well all that added up to make Caruso a bit leery about the mare.
No matter how 'nice' she seemed, sometimes emotions could even be all a lie. Caruso hesitantly answered back quickly however, and accepted her offer to lead him in anyway. "Alright then, Cali the loner. I'd like if you took me down there and in." His voice was almost firm and demanding as he knew exactly what he wanted. Caruso was determined to get into that herd and explore. The stallions cry he had herd previously seemed oddly familiar, but he really couldn't place a name or image to the voice yet.
In a mere short hour the weather had began to twist. It went from sunny and peaceful to a large lingering black cloud over head. Now, the cloud had came alive. Thunder wrapped itself throughout the cloud sending rumbles through the lands and the sight of distant lightning made Caruso want to move out of here even faster. Still standing next to Cali, he looked at her with almost an urgent look and let his voice sound between the rumbling thunder. "Yea time to go. I'll follow." With that she hoped she'd actually move and take him into the herd. Possibly shelter on the outskits would be there at least, and of course, he hoped they'd make it that far at least before the rains came. The wind now started to pick up and sway Caruso's mane around, a sign of rain coming any moment.
OOC;; Sorry, muse for caru like died there. Just have cali almost 'powerplay' caru as he follows her. That way they can get in the herd, or find shelter in the herd, whatever while it rains lol. maybe even find a pure member or andro I dont care lol.

"And all the world's a stage..." Calamity listened to Caru as he allowed her to take the lead. The mare nodded, turning her behind towards him and swishing her tail as she walked through the forest. Caru followed behind her at a good distance, obviously skeptical of her entire “I’m a pure mare, I promise!” act. Honestly, at this point she didn’t care. She didn’t need this stag; she needed her sister. She needed her sister to watch her back as she stole everything from everyone. Cali turned her head as she walked, looking at Caru. “You can talk, right?” She questioned sarcastically, smirking slightly. “Yeah.” He replied in a dead tone. Cali turned again. “I used to live here,” She admitted to him, trying to get him on her good side. “When I was a kid. Envious stag took it over, so I left with my sister. We got separated and I haven’t seen her since. I thought maybe she would be here.” The mare lied to him. She quieted to wait for a response, leading him down a long path towards the hidden entrance. It would be at least another half hour or so, and it was getting stormy. “We can wait here for the night, if you want. It will be another half hour before we get all the way down.” She said, coming to a halt. She looked at him and sighed, hoping he would talk to her so it wouldn’t be as awkward.
