If this is to end in flames, then we will all burn together... Tags;; Sladey words;; 698 notes;; Bones is panicking. :/ The brindle mare was sleeping peacefully next to Slade, cuddled up close to the one she loved. She was halfway through her pregnancy, and already pretty large. They had, of course, told the herd and Bones got more and more excited as the days went by and it got closer to the day of their foal being born. She wondered constantly how their foal would act or what it would look like, or even the gender for that matter. Part of her wanted a little colt, a foal just like Slade, but then again part of her also wanted a little filly that would be her little girl. She would be happy anyway, and at the end of the day she just wanted a healthy foal. Half way through the night the mare started to twitch in her sleep, her peaceful slumber interrupted by a vivid dream. Slade and Bones were wandering happily around their herd lands and strutting between them was a beautiful little colt. He was so cute, looking like a spitting image of his father except he had his mother’s blue eyes. He was such a cute colt, and the pride on Bones and Slade’s face was quite apparent. The joy that radiated between the horses was easy to see, it was a perfect picture. Bones watched as her colt rushed forward, Bones reminding him to slow down as he ran towards the trees. But she laughed and she watched her foal run and flip his head in a playful manner, looking back at his parents with an almost challenging look on his face as he raced forward again. Their happy picture, something that was so joyful, was soon ruined as the sound of a large mountain lion. Instantly Bones and Slade rushed to their foal, but he was so far away from them. With fear in Bones’s eyes she watched as the large cat come out of the woods, running to try and save her foal but the mountain lion pounced towards- Instantly Bones woke up with a start, jumping up and looking around in a panic. She was breathing heavy and her eyes were wide, her heart felt like it was about to jump from her chest. It took her a few moments to realize that it was dark and it was only a dream, her blue eyes searching everywhere. There was no foal and there was no mountain lion, just a terrible nightmare. She still couldn’t slow her heart beat after that, because a new kind of panic was starting to set in. What if this whole foal thing was a mistake? What if they weren’t supposed to be parents. Bones had no idea what she was doing, she just decided so suddenly that she wanted a family that she didn’t actually think about it. She didn’t know what she was doing, she didn’t have the slightest clue. She was going to be a terrible mother, she couldn’t even keep her foal alive in a dream. And if something happened to her baby? It would crush her, she wouldn’t even know how to continue. She couldn’t have a foal, she should have never allowed Slade to breed her. A year ago she didn’t even want to be in a herd, and now she was a pregnant lead mare. The brindle mare shook her head, she had made such a mistake and she couldn’t fix it now. She couldn’t be a mother, she just couldn’t do this. Bones just felt like disappearing as she looked from Slade to around the herd, there was nothing in sight but sleeping horses. She couldn’t leave though, but she didn’t want to tell Slade that she was rethinking every decision she had made. But maybe it was the right thing, because she had been so wrapped up in what she thought was love that she couldn’t make rational decisions. And now an innocent foal was going to pay for it by having a terrible mother. She loved Slade, with all of her heart she did, but she was beginning to think the decision to have a foal should have waited until they could fully understand each other.

Our life <3...
The lead had been sleeping peacefully, this particular night in almost a hard core sleep, lost within his own mind as he let peaceful dreams run through his cranium. Bones was pretty pregnant now, about halfway through actually, and that left Slade pretty happy. Everything up to now had gone completely perfect. The herd had all taken the news well. Slade was a bit nervous however with the fact that she would be having the foal in Autumn, Quickly, the weather could turn for the worst and he didn't want their bundle of joy to get caught up in the cold of winter. But Slade was ready to do whatever he had to, to protect Bones and their foal from anything in life that could happen. Smiling in his sleep, Slade lay next to Bones, his back tucked up next to hers. It wasn't until Bones was really starting to fidget that woke him, finally. His eyes slowly flickering open, head and neck then turned towards his love to check on her. Nares flared open as he smelled the scents around them, but nothing was around to be concerned about. However, as he looked to her he noticed her huge pregnant sides heaving up and down rather quickly. Moving rapidly, but careful of his mate's bodice, Slade got to his hooves and stood above her before letting his voice sound softly. "My sweetheart, what has you up and so terrified?" Slade questioned, dipping his head down to hers, rubbing his warm muzzle across her jaw before planting a welcoming kiss upon her forehead. He was concerned with how stressed out she seemed to be. It would not be good for the foal if she stayed like this much longer. Slade did not want to have to deal with the outcome of premature labor, for Bones or their baby. Lifting his head to look about, just to be sure there was nothing else around, Slade let his eyes adjust to the dark before glancing back down to Bones. "Its ok my dear, there is nothing out here that is going to get you or our bundle of joy. It is all safe. I promise, you need to take some deep breaths and get back to your well needed rest." He paused for a moment before running his muzzle down her warm neck, still curious as to why she was awake in such a panic. Lifting his head to the area of her ears he let his voice speak, softly and lovingly. "What is bothering you my love? Did something wake you? Perhaps a bad dream? or an animal? You know you can talk to me, about anything, always." Loving smile planted across his muzzle as he reached down once more to kiss her, this time on her soft velvet maw. "Whatever it was, I'm sure I can fix it. I love you and our growing foal." His glance then changing from Bones head to her belly, watching it for a moment trying to catch a glimpse of the foal possibly kick. Because her side was heaving he couldn't tell much from anything, so instead he reached down to her belly and softly kissed it. "Yes, daddy love you too little one."

Mouse didn't know anyone very well, but that was because he simply didn't ask. He felt he knew enough just by observing, which is what he did. He watched the other herd members, and sometimes found himself in places he shouldn't have been and listening to things he probably shouldn't have. He didn't talk, but he loved to wander and explore. It gave him freedom, and his curiosity only grew with each day. He wandered about at night while others were sleeping, slipping away unnoticed even by his mother. He loved his mother, he did. But he got annoyed easily at her attempts to reign him in from exploring. He wanted to know what lied beyond the herd lands, badly.
It was night time, and Mouse had no issue slipping away from his mother's side as she slept and walked across the herd lands, quickly glancing at Friar who was sleeping quietly, and making his way to the forest when he heard voices. Confused, he decided to walk toward Bones and Slade, hiding out of sight but stayed just close enough so he could hear. He knew it wasn't right, listening in to other people's conversations, but he simply couldn't himself.
Surprised by Slade's reactions to whatever Bones' was doing, Mouse assumed there was danger with the foal, and immediately left to go get his mother.

Take me to the stars. ------------------- Don't ever let me go. -------------------
Hael's dreams were vivid and colorful. She saw Mouse, all grown up, beautiful and healthy with a mare by his side and a foal of his own. He stayed with the herd and was loved by everyone around him.
Just as her dream was getting better, she felt pushing on her belly. She awoke suddenly, jumping to her feet, concerned that it was Mouse and that he was awake.
"Mouse, what is it? What's wrong?"
She spoke, frantically looking around for any danger or anything that could cause harm to him. She leaned down as he whispered in her ear, softly, but with urgency, explaining that something was wrong with Bones and her foal. She had known that Bones' was pregnant, and that she had been for awhile, and she had many conflicting emotions about it that had never been brought up. Pushing those thoughts aside, she glanced at Mouse with concern and hurried her way over to Bones and Slade. She was out of breath when she reached them, realizing then that maybe she should cut back on the eating for awhile. She frantically glanced between Bones and Slade with a worried expression.
"What's wrong? Mouse told me something is wrong with the foal? You're not giving birth, are you?"

If this is to end in flames, then we will all burn together... Tags;; Emily @rorulent words;; 562 notes;; Bones scared :/ The brindle mare was freaking out, and the last thing she wanted was to hear Slade and his sweet words. But he was awake and instantly worrying about her, and he was showering her with cute names and kisses and loving touches and they were just making it worse. And as terrible as she knew it was, it just made her angry. Of course he loved her and their baby, but he had years to think about a family and a foal and she didn’t. And he didn’t have to go through the birth, Hael barely made it so what if something went wrong with her? Bones was going to just ignore it and lie, but she couldn’t do that. She was stressing out and his…actions were just making it all worse. “I’m fine Slade,” She snapped at him, a mixture of being stressed out and just annoyed about him being too loving at this point when she was stressing out and rethinking everything. “I think we made a mistake in having this baby. We’ve only known each other a year and before that I didn’t even want to be in a herd or a family and now I’m pregnant and a lead mare and I just…I just don’t think we should have ever tried to start a family this quickly,” She admitted quietly as she looked up at him, though she didn’t want to hurt him she had to tell him the truth. She loved him, she really did, but there was so much to learn about each other before they tried to start a family. She didn’t think of that before, she hadn’t even hesitated. Bones thought the only thing she wanted was a foal, and now she didn’t think she was prepared for it. Slade might have, but she didn’t know what she was going to do or how to raise it. Her thoughts were instantly stopped when Hael walked up, voice worried as she looked at the two of them and asked them questions. It seemed Mouse had overhead them at the very beginning and had told his mother. “Umm…I’m not going into labor, I just had a bad dream. A really bad dream and I freaked out a little. But I’m okay, I’m calming down,” She promised quietly, glancing over at Hael and then down to Mouse. She really didn’t want anyone else over here during this conversation, especially Hael who she was already in rough waters with. “I’m fine now, but thank you for worrying about me. I just need to get a water,” She said before she started walking towards the waterfall. Bones prayed that Hael hadn’t heard anything she had said to Slade, and right now she didn’t want to face her mate. Mate, she was too young to have one of those. She still couldn’t believe she was pregnant, but her large sides were quite evident of the fact that she was pregnant. In a few more short months she would be giving birth, and though she thought it was going to be a huge mistake, it wasn’t something that she could change now. She just didn’t want the foal to pay for her mistakes, and to not be raised like it should be because she screwed up. Everything could go wrong, and her and Slade didn’t even think to talk about it.

First fight? <3...
The lead mare had gave her responses so quickly, so snappy and agitated that by the time Slade even had a moment to think, or react to her snappy words, Hael was already there. He wasn't sure how she had heard about their whole night terror deal, but didn't care to know either. Bones had gotten snippy with him and nit picked back at everything nice he had tried to say to comfort her. Went to show how much she seemed to appericate his words of course. However, once you got snippy with Slade it was game over. He could turn into being much more of an asshole then anyone else could. However, hearing Hael's words calmed him for just a moment and allowed him to step back and observe the situation before speaking back to Bones. Shooting a glance towards Mouse, a friendly one of course he smiled and winked at the youngster before looking to Hael softly. "It was a dream. Nightmare." He answered before Bones could. He knew his mate was stubborn of course, she always was, but he was going to try and get her to talk to Hael. Sure, they might not be the best of friends because of how Slade and Bones came to be a couple, but Slade still blamed Tilney for that huge mess. By then, Bone had walked away towards the falls, to get her drink or whatever her excuse seemed to be. Slade knew she didn't want Hael in on any of this, he could tell by the snippy attitude that she had also given the gypsy mare. Which, was also something not needed, or very friendly. Hael had come to try and help and when Hael needed help with her foaling she welcomed Slade and Bones with great pleasure, not attitude. That part, got to Slade. However, he still had to take into account the fact that Bones pretty much just admitted that she did not want this foal and that she was rethinking every decision they had made as a couple this far. Go figure, finally Slade had a foal due, but the mate he loved with his whole heart was backing out. Inside, it was taring him to pieces, but he tried as hard as he could to keep his composure and figure this whole mass out. Stepping off slowly he walked by Hael and spoke softly. "Let me talk to her for a minute? and then I could use your help if your up to it?" He hoped Hael and Mouse would both help him in his quest for happiness once again. Switching his glance to Mouse, he wasn't sure if he would get a response, but wanted to at least ask the little one of a favor. Softly, he spoke to the colt so Bones could not hear. "Bones is sad and scared. She's going to have a foal, much like you Mouse. But shes worried she won't be a good mommy. Maybe could you do something cute to cheer her up? Or anything you can come up with little man? This is important to me, your first job from the lead, i know you can do it buddy!" His maw revealing a kind smile as he happily looked into the foals eyes, really hoping he did help him out. There was no way Bones should be able to resist his cuteness.. hopefully. Looking back towards Hael he nodded before headed off to speak with Bones.
Walking then to Bones with a loving expression on his face, he answered back to her. He didn't want this to bloom into any sort of fight, but he wasn't happy with the words she spoke either. Not stallion ever wanted to hear that their pregnant mate was rethinking everything.. Did she love him even?? "No need to get snippy. Weather you see it now or later, I was just trying to help. To comfort you. But instead, I can be direct too." He paused while walking to the side of her, right in her eye sight wanting to really catch her attention. "I love you Bones and that foal with every part of me. Weather you choose to believe me or not is your decision. Weather you think your going to be a good mom or not doesn't even matter now. Its too late. Unless you plan on abandoning or killing that foal theres no way you could be a bad mother. Being a stallion, and not pregnant I can't speak for how easy or hard it will be. But its too late now to even doubt yourself. I know you will be great and when you see that foal that just came from inside of you, all of your motherly instincts will kick in. Or so I have been told. However, you need to talk to someone who went through this. Someone that lived through the horror, the scared nights wondering how they would be as a mother and finally, being a mother." gently, Slade put his nose under Bone's jaw and lifted her head to look at him, leaving a quick kiss upon her side before speaking again. "You will become a mother, but I will also become a father. I will be there to help you every step of the way. Sure, I won't be able to feed it, but I can help with everything else... and i'll probably be the worlds most over protective father, at least for a little while. You won't be on your own.. However, I think you should take the advise from someone who was. Hael is here to help you. She has gone through all of these feelings on her own and now she has Mouse and she didn't think she would be a good mother either. I'm not saying you have to share your feelings or life story with her, but please listen to her. She came, on her own to make sure you and the foal were ok. I'd say that's a good friend.. Please, accept her help." Knowing how stubborn Bones could be, he wasn't sure if she would completely blow off the handle now and yell at him for just trying to help.. or if she would be calm and accept the fact that maybe talking to someone who went through all of this already, would actually help her.. Slade deep down, could only hope that whatever happened, she would still love him and want to be with him. Once she answered, Slade would allow Hael over, if Bones didn't already go to her by then..

Mouse was surprised at Slade's request. It seemed personal to Mouse, but he knew that if he refused, it would look bad on his part. He wasn't entirely sure on what to do to get Bones to feel better, but he accepted the challenge with confidence. If he could act like any other regular foal, it would work. The only problem was that Mouse wasn't entirely normal. He nodded to Slade with a solemn expression, accepting his request like it was a challenge to express his worth as a herd member. He waited until Slade was done talking and trotted over to Bones. He knew that he still didn't know how to express himself through words, so he approached her side carefully, his head lowered but eyes locked on hers. He waited for her to realize he was there and look at him, and smiled a sweet smile to her. He walked to her side and nudged her shoulder with his small nose, smiling up to her while beginning to prance and jump around her, throwing his head in the air and snorting as his still weak legs attempt to hold their balance. He nipped at her playfully, hoping in return that she would smile or play with him. Anything to get her to feel better.
He loved his mother, he truly did, but he couldn't help but always wonder why he didn't have a dad in his life, like Slade.

Take me to the stars. ------------------- Don't ever let me go. -------------------
/'I’m fine now, but thank you for worrying about me. I just need to get water'/
Hael watched Bones as she spoke, obviously upset and agitated. She glanced at Mouse with a stern expression, upset and agitated with him for snooping and then sending the wrong signal. She glanced back at Bones and listened to her soft voice, knowing all too well that it wasn't 'just a bad dream'. She knew it was still weird with everybody, and she wondered what Bones thought about Hael as a sort of ex lover of Slade. He listened as Slade spoke, barging in before Bones could speak. Deciding to keep her mouth shut and stay out of the obvious little argument they were having as he followed Bones to the stream, she thought about if she should say anything. It agitated her, to know that Bones was having second thoughts so far into her pregnancy. She couldn't help feeling upset, knowing that if she herself was having Slade's foal and was lead mare of a herd, there would be nothing for her to complain about. But she still couldn't help but sympathize with her also. She knew how it felt being pregnant. More or less, she knew how it felt to be young and pregnant. She remembers how scared she was, how alone she felt. She wasn't sure if she should bring it up, knowing that Bones was probably only speaking to Slade, and that she wouldn't want anyone else to know, but Hael had heard fully of what she was saying while she was walking up.
Hael watched from a distance as Mouse tried to comfort her. She smiled as she watched, being overcome with a feeling of pride. She then watched Slade walk to Bones and could hear slightly what he was saying.
/'...Whether you think your going to be a good mom or not doesn't even matter now. Or so I have been told...'/
Hael snorted at Slade's words. He obviously didn't know about the birthing process. She couldn't really blame him for that though, considering he was a stallion. But Hael knew that his words were not the ones she needed to hear right now, so she decided to walk over. She cut him off right as he was finishing his speech.
"Sorry Slade, I don't mean to over-step my boundaries in anyway, but I need you to stop talking. Your words and comfort are not what she needs right now, especially coming from a stallion. Let me talk to her please."
She spoke with aggression in her voice, clearly agitated by Slade's demeanor and words, but she couldn't help it. Hearing that Bones' was having second thoughts, followed by Slade's rambling, it just lit a fire.
She waited until Slade was out of ear's reach to talk to Bones, her fury rising with the wait.
"Stallions..."
She mumbled to herself.
She whipped her head back to Bones and began rambling.
"I know that you're the lead mare now and it's not my place to speak to you like this, but I have to. I heard you talking while I was coming to check on you, and I heard Slade talking to you just now, and the fact that you're having second thoughts is.. Just... I'm dumbfounded! First of all, I know how it feels. To be young and in love and willing to do anything and everything for the other. I get it. Because you know what? That's how I felt when I met Slade..."
She stopped to breathe, her memories flooding in from when she met Slade and when she ran and got them both captured, and the love she felt for him right from the get-go. She let herself reminisce for a bit until she shook herself and continued.
"Don't worry. I know you love him, and he loves you, and I'm not one to get in between real love... But do you not see what you have? Do you not see where you are? You are in a well-established herd, with a loving mate, who so willingly wanted to become mates and start a family of your own with you."
As she spoke of family, she glanced at Mouse, who was down a ways sleeping peacefully under a tree now. A smile lit on her face for a moment, until she looked back at Bones again with a stern expression.
"That little boy over there, was the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. He is the reason that I'm still here. The reason why I push so hard to be better. He makes me want to be a better horse, better herd member, better friend. If it wasn't for him, I don't know what I would have done. And he doesn't even have a father."
She glanced at Mouse again and smiled, watching him open his eyes slightly to peek in on what they were doing, but closed them shut again when he saw his mother looking.
"And that's the thing. He doesn't have a father. I'm alone. And you know what? I'm doing just fine. There are days when I feel like a horrible mother. Nights where I lie awake, wondering how Mouse will do in the future, and becoming scared about it."
She glanced back at Bones and softened her voice.
"But you have Slade. Your foal will grow up with a father. You didn't have to be forced into this. You became mates with him for a reason. You became pregnant for a reason. That little one inside you needs you to be strong right now, or it will come into this world, weak. And Slade? Even though he's clueless on how to handle a pregnant mate, he loves you with all of his might, and he will fight for you and the little one."
She turned her head, looking to Slade in the distance with a solemn expression.
"He'll be a great father. I just know it."
She couldn't help but feel the longing, the feelings come back just for a second, but shook them off quickly and turned to Bones again with watery eyes.
"I didn't have a choice. To become a mother. And when I did get pregnant, Tilney left. But Slade is here. And you had a choice. And forgive me, but it makes me upset that you don't think it was a good choice, because.. Slade was right. It's too late now. You are a mother. And I know it's scary and frightening and you feel too young, but it won't be. Because Slade's here, I'm here, Mouse is here, the others are here too. We are all here for you, whether you like it or not."
Hael gave bones a quick laugh and smile at the end, joking around with her, even though Hael herself was feeling worse.
"Bones, you are so generous and kind. I wish I was you. You will be a great mother. And you and Slade are a great pair. Don't be scared. Don't worry. Everything will work out and you'll be a better mother for it. You can do this. I have faith in you. This little one has faith in you."
She nodded, lowering her head and touching Bones' pregnant side with her nose gently. She didn't know if what she said was very good, and she didn't know if it would work. She really wasn't very good at cheering people up, but she hoped that maybe this could fix things between them. She called to Mouse, who, of course, was still awake and only fake sleeping. He jumped his feet and ran over, eyes open wide glancing between his mother and Bones with curiosity.

If this is to end in flames, then we will all burn together... The brindle mare was focusing on the water, not drinking any of it, when little Mouse came over towards him. He didn’t speak, but when he finally had her attention he smiled and nudged her softly. She couldn’t help but be a little surprised, because he never really interacted with other herd members, but then he started playing around and it made her smile, dipping her nose down and throwing a little water on him playfully as she laughed. He was quite adorable, and for a moment she forgot about Slade until she heard him walk closer to her. Bones glanced up as she saw Slade, not wanting to hear a word that he was saying. He didn’t understand, he couldn’t even come close to understanding. He didn’t know what she was going through, he didn’t know the fears or the dreams or the uncertainty. He just had to stand by while everything changed for her and then help take care of it after the baby was born. But then she was still the one who was feeding it and everything, he wasn’t. Of course he was sure of it all, he didn’t have to go through a fraction of what she had to for this, their, baby. Opening her mouth to say something she quickly shut it when Hael came over, the last horse that she wanted over here. She barely wanted to have this conversation, and she really didn’t want everyone in it. And Hael…she didn’t want to give the mare another reason to hate her. Though it was beginning to look like it was too late for that, because Bones was pretty sure Hael had overheard everything she had said to Slade. Bones watched in surprise as Hael spoke to Slade, her words blunt and her words sharp. She couldn’t believe Hael was talking to him like that, but what she said was true. Slade’s words only made her more upset, they weren’t helping her. It wasn’t a good pep talk that was for sure. Though she wasn’t sure Hael’s words would be any better. Bones had Slade, Hael had no one. Silently she listened to every word that left the mare’s lips, feeling worse the longer she spoke. Hael was right, she did have Slade and a wonderful herd and her foal wouldn’t be fatherless. And she knew she was acting dumb for second guessing it all, and besides that it was way too late, but she couldn’t help it. Bones looked back up at Hael as her voice got softer, listening to every single word. She was surprised by what she said about her, that she had faith in her and that she would be with her, but it made her feel a little bit better at least. Actually, it made her feel a lot better. “I’m sorry Hael. I shouldn’t be second guessing it, I just had such a terrible dream about my little foal…just something terrible happened and when I woke up I panicked. I didn’t really come from a herd, not exactly anyway, and I just woke up and felt like I screwed a bunch of things up and made crazy decisions because I was in love and didn’t want my foal to pay for that. I don’t know if that makes sense, and maybe you don’t even want to hear it, but what you said has…made me feel better. I do feel better now. I just…I don’t know anything about foals or anything. It just makes me nervous and I guess the dream just set it all off. So I’m really sorry you had to hear it all and I acted that way…I didn’t mean to upset you in anyway…” She said quietly, wanting to make sure Hael knew that she had helped her and that she wouldn’t end up mad at her. Bones looked down at Mouse as he came over, smiling softly as she nudged softly. “Do you know that you have the best mother ever?” She asked him softly before pulling gently at his little mane in a playful way. Her blues eyes looked back up at Hael, “Thank you very much Hael for talking to me. You said…just the right things I needed to hear actually. I think you are a wonderful mother and have done wonderfully with Mouse. And if you don’t mind me mentioning it, I think Caruso was a little interested in you. You should talk to him sometime,” She said with a small little smile. She had seen and heard what the stallion had said to Hael, and she thought she should go and get to know him. Maybe something could come from it. The brindle mare knew that she needed to go talk to Slade, but right now she was content to not talk to him. He probably wanted to know what she was thinking or if she was better, but she would go over there soon. Though Hael had been the last horse she had wanted to talk to in the beginning, she was happy that Hael had come over and talked some sense into her. And what she had said in the end was the truth. Hael was a wonderful mother to Mouse and she just hoped the little guy would come out of his shell soon. She flipped some water up to him again, smiling a little bit as she did so.

Feeling Unloved.. </3...
The Slade had watched as Mouse had done his cute little act. It was perfect and Slade couldn't have been much happier with the little colts performance. Smiling happily he looked towards Mouse and gave him a wink before he had started talking to Bones. However, quickly after he began he was interrupted by Hael. /"Sorry Slade, I don't mean to over-step my boundaries in anyway, but I need you to stop talking. Your words and comfort are not what she needs right now, especially coming from a stallion. Let me talk to her please"/ She about stormed over and spoke in an almost agitated tone... Then shoved him off to the side like garbage. Slade reluctantly took to Hael's words and walked himself away. "Ugh" he mumbled almost under his breath as his hooves carried him, JUST inside earshot of the two. Besides, what would a stallion be without being curious as to what the mares were saying anyway?.. His colorless pelt picked up the suns rays, bouncing them into different directions as his black patches became warmer. His long white mane lapped at his neck and chest as he reached around his side to scratch his shoulder. Trying to keep his mind clear as he tried to listen in, but at the same time so many thoughts flooded through... /Was Bones truly in love with him or did she just think she was?/... /Would the foal be born and Slade never allowed to see it?/ "Yea right." He muttered to himself, knowing he would never ever settle for that. He would raise his foal on his own before being denied to see his own foal.. but how could he feed it?.. Feeling left out and more alone then ever he glanced over to the mares, this time trying to listen in, the glisten in his eye showed his sorrow and confusion in the moment. However, by the time he stopped soaking in his own self pity he had missed over half the conversation, but his listening devices did pick up a small speech from Hael.
Eye lids blinked back a wave of emotions as he looked away for a moment, just in time for Hael to glance towards him before speaking once more. "He'll be a great father. I just know it." Taking in a breath, Slade released it slowly.. Wow. What Hael had said really had hit him. Sure, there was a time when every bit of him loved Hael and he would always remember that. Perhaps that was why he always seemed to fix everything by using Hael. Although, it was something he had to move on from, and he did as his love now lay with Bones. However that moment she spoke, he couldn't help but let all the memories return to his mind too, even wondering on how it would have been, being Mouse's father instead of having a mate that didn't even know if she still wanted to be his mate let alone mother to his child. More emotions running through his brain as he looked away, not wanting to really do anything but mope about. His feelings were crushed, mind lost and confused and right now he didn't want to really talk to Bones. How could she do this, how could she bother to want a family and then suddenly not?.. Stones put in motion as Slade walked even farther away, to his hill, actually. Peaking over the top the wind caught his mane and tail and lapped them about as he took in a deep breath and just glared at his herd below. He hadn't even waited around long enough to try and make out what Bones had responded back to Hael with, but he didn't care either. The sorrow that was inside him was slowly boiling over into anger and frustration. This time, Bones could very well see a side of him she had never experienced herself before. His anger. Letting his mind overflow with everything now just made it worse. HOW could she second guess this now.. Not even meaning to, his right front lifted from the ground and pawed at the ground below. Looking to his right side, where he wore the scar across his ribcage from Bones' father proudly... he was reminded of all that he had done to keep her safe and happy, before they were even mates! and now she was pulling these stunts? His eyes were a bit narrowed now, an obvious expression of how he was feeling. Heck at this point maybe it would have been easier to just have become Hael's mate. However, for only just the second of thinking it, he let it go, there was something about he and Hael that seemed to make them better friends then they ever would have been as mates.. Letting a snort come from his nares before looking back down to his herd.. Where had Caruso gone off to?.. Well, there he was atop his hill alone, like it once used to be. He could only hope that it wasn't going to revert back to that. However, now with his mixed emotions he had no clue how to even approach Bones or Hael so he contently waited for one or both of them to come and start the conversation first. Gee at this point, even Mouse could slice right through the tension in the air. His little act had been perfect, and Slade knew he would have to thank him kindly later. But Heck, if he had to wait all day for them to babble girl talk then so be it. He had a herd to tend to as well anyway..

Take me to the stars. ------------------- Don't ever let me go. -------------------
[smear:ffffff] Hael watched and stood patiently, waiting for a response from Bones in anticipation. Her feelings kind of exploded all over the place, and she really hoped she hadn't said anything wrong to upset anyone. She breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Bones speak, smiling softly back to her.
"It's definitely a learning process."
Bones tipped her head to Mouse with a chuckle, and faced Bones again.
"You will be a great mother."
Hael smiled at her and dipped her head down. She truly meant what she said, and it felt good to be able to be on a solid ground with Bones for once. Though she still had feelings for Slade, she was longing for a friend to have, and even better, a friend who was about to foal and become a mother like herself. She listened as Bones spoke again.
/"'...And if you don’t mind me mentioning it, I think Caruso was a little interested in you. You should talk to him sometime,'"/
Hael glanced up, surprise filling her eyes, and she instantly blushed. Fumbling for her words in a frantic manor, she looked back up to Bones, her face flushed with embarrassment.
"Uhhh... No.. I don't think so... No, not me...He couldn't...
Do you really think so?"
She chuckled and smiled with amusement. She sighed with relief, relief from the emotions that had been fulfilling her, and being able to release them. She turned her head, only to notice Slade off in the distance on top of his hill. She looked at him, and could tell he wasn't in a good place either now. She felt the sadness from him like radiation, and instantly decided to herself that she would talk to him, too.
"Excuse me, Bones, but I'm going to go talk to Slade quick, and then I highly suggest that you talk to him afterwards."
She tipped her head and started moving towards him, calling back to Mouse to stay near Bones for a bit.
The cremello mare approached the lead stallion slowly, unsure that what she had said had hurt him. She felt bad for barging in like that, but at the time she really couldn't control herself. She approached him from the flank with her head down, showing her commitment to him as the lead stallion.
"Slade? Before I say anything else that could possibly screw something up, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what I said to you.. I know I shouldn't talk to you like that, but I honestly couldn't control myself very well at the time and..."
Her voice trailed off, and it was filled with a nervous silence as she thought about what she would say to him next.
"..Bones loves you, and wants nothing but for everyone to be happy. Obviously she's new at being pregnant, and new at becoming a mother, so she's just scared. She's double thinking things because she doesn't necessarily know what to do or how to handle it yet. And that's okay.. She's scared she's going to screw things up, and she just needs reassurance that she's doing the right thing. I know.. Or I KNEW how she's feeling right now.. And I know that you're probably doubting things now too, but it's not like that. What she needs is love and affection, not pushiness or advice. And she needs to believe that she'll be a good mother, and that you and her met for a reason, which you did. You guys are perfect for each other, and you will make the most beautiful family. You can't give up just because of a bad dream and a small argument.."
She trailed off once more, turning her nose to stare blankly off into the distance, her train of thoughts all scrambled and dis-combobled.
"Anyways... I just wanted to apologize, and then suggest that you go talk to her.."

Mouse knew he had successfully completed his challenge when he heard Bones laugh and play back with him. He smiled with triumph, prancing around with his chest out and snorting with victory.
/'“Do you know that you have the best mother ever?”'/
The chestnut colt snorted and gave a mischievous grin up to Bones as she spoke to him, paying no attention to what they were saying until he felt a tug on his mane and a splash of water on his pelt again. He threw his head around, almost throwing himself off balance and accidentally throwing his body into Bones' shoulder as he trotted around. He knew this little act was likely to get some smiles, and he felt the need to have acceptance from Slade, so he was doing whatever he could to complete the challenge and go over and above.
Mouse soon got bored with the water and watched as his mother walked away but called back at him to stay near Bones. He looked up at Bones with wide eyes, obviously thinking of a plan to escape when she wasn't looking. He smiled a cheesy smile up to her as he thought of different ways he could leave and go wander the forest while his mother wasn't looking.
PING!
An idea flew to his mind and he immediately turned to Bones. He knew he didn't talk much, but he was so excited about his plan that he managed to spew out words, still not in a complete sentence.
"I hide, you find!"
He almost whispered it to her, his little voice harsh and raspy, as if he had a cold. He nodded his head and smiled, waiting for her to close her eyes so he could go 'hide'.
(Sorry Kristen, kinda powerplaying and skipping ahead lol but add whatever you want to make it make sense xD)
When he was finally given the signal to go and hide, he tiptoed around her and then bolted to the forest. He ran slow, his long legs fumbling awkwardly underneath him as he picked himself up multiple times. He stopped when he had thought he had gotten to a place where he hadn't been exploring yet, his chest heaving as he coughed. He looked around, picking up a familiar scent, and other unfamiliar ones. He excitedly started moving towards them, hoping they were other foals like him for him to play with. He crept around and hid behind a tree, in straight shot of Caruso and two strange mares. He had really just met Caruso, and didn't know what to think of him yet, but really hoped he would become mates with his mother so that he could have a daddy. His small body hid perfectly behind the tree, his head popping out occasionally to peak in on what they were doing and what they were saying.

If this is to end in flames, then we will all burn together... Tags;; Emily, Rorulent., words;; 920 notes;; Bones is feeling guilty now. :/ Bones nodded softly, it was going to be a learning process and that scared her the most because she just didn’t know anything. She didn’t grow up in a herd so she never saw other mares with foals, and it wasn’t something she ever learned from her mother because she left before such talk was necessary. And it wasn’t like she could talk to her mom, because she was still with her evil father, if she was still alive. So she had what Slade knew and that was it, except she had Hael now too. She felt like they were on better ground now though, and maybe Hael would be her biggest help through this and raising the foal. Besides Slade, who she needed to talk to still. The brindle mare laughed softly at her question, nodding her head. “I do think so. He’s a handsome stallion and he seemed pretty interested…Slade told me about him. He’s a very nice stallion, you should talk to him. And he seems like he wanted to get to know Mouse too, so I don’t think it gets better than that,” She said easily with another grin as she watched the mare. She knew she was shy, and Caruso was a shy stallion, but together she thought they would be cute together. And Hael would have a mate and Mouse would have a father, so it would be great. Just a few awkward conversations and she was sure they would get along wonderfully. “I will talk to him. I’m sure my little break down has made him feel terrible…I don’t know how I will make it better now,” She muttered, the first part to Hael and then the last part mainly mumbling to herself. She had really screwed this up, and she wasn’t sure that she could fix it. What if Slade wouldn’t forgive her, or what if he was mad? He had every right to be mad, she was terrible. All the words she had said, she basically said regretted all the decisions she had ever made with him. Joining the herd, loving him, getting pregnant. It wasn’t the truth though, she just panicked. When she panicked she said things she should have never said, and she regretted it more than anything. Her blue eyes watched as Hael walked off, looking up to where Slade was standing on the hill. He looked mad, she had never made him mad before. She shook her head, what had she done? How was she going to dig herself out of this hole? She didn’t know what to do, but she didn’t want him to constantly dwell on the words she had said. But if he had said something like that to her she would think about it quite a lot as well, so she couldn’t really blame him. She sighed softly, she wished she had never spoken a word now. If she had just been quiet this might not be as bad, but she knew it wasn’t going to be good now. She just hoped it could end well. Bones was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn’t even notice Mouse, until he bumped into her shoulder and her glance was brought down to him. She smiled softly as he gave her that little cheesy grin, he was such a cute little foal. She was a bit surprised though when the little colt spoke, “I hide, you find!” Bones didn’t really know what to say, because she hadn’t ever heard him speak before. “Um…yeah. We can play hide and seek, you just have to stay in the herd lands. Go hide, I’ll count,” She said quietly before closing her eyes and started to count. After she had reached her destined number Bones forward to try and find him, trying to smell him in the wind. She searched for a while before finally heading off to where she smelt him, walking off in that direction as she did so. But what she did not expect was the smell of Caruso and two mares, mares that she did not know. It seemed as if he was bringing him to the herd, and Bones wondered if he had stumbled upon them while he was walking. A frown was on her face as she walked over, not sure if she should say something or go and get Slade. First she decided to find Mouse though, searching around him before finally finding him behind a tree. “Gotcha! Now go find your mommy real quick,” She said quietly but in a stern voice, making sure that he did so. She watched Caruso and the two mares for a moment longer before she trotted over to where Slade was. She slowed down going up his hill, head low because she really felt terrible and didn’t want him to blow up on her before she even explained everything. “Um…I believe Caruso ran into some mares a little outside of the herd territory. He’s walking them towards the herd lands now. I didn’t talk to them because I figured you would want to know right away. I’m sure he’s bringing them here to talk to you, and they are both mares. One is really pregnant, they probably need shelter or something,” She said quietly, barely even looking at him. It wasn’t because she didn’t want to look at him, she was just so ashamed of herself for the words she had said and she didn’t want him mad and yelling at her either.

The two loves of Bones and Hael <3...
Slade stayed atop his hill, like he had planned until someone came over to get him. His insides still bubbling with an anger and sadness mix. He wasn't sure what his life was to look like now, but could only hope trusty Hael could set Bones right. However, the second part of his mind thought how stupid this all was and how he shouldn't need another mare to come in and set Bones right, what the hell was she thinking, DOUBTING everything NOW... This late!?. His eyes narrowed as Hael came into view, sure his own mate wasn't even the first one over to speak to him. However, his gaze changed as he focused into the distance to where Bones was. As crazy as it was, she seemed to be happily playing with Mouse. Just then, a lighter more solemn expression came across his features instead of his previous tight and angered look. Mouse had done exactly what Slade had asked him to do. For that, he was proud of the young one, yet sad to think about what was going to happen with his own foal if Bones didn't come out of these crazy thoughts. His face grew longer and more sullen with the thought of loosing everything he had always wanted. However, that was when Hael came to his side, the most perfect timing there ever could have been... Quickly her voice picked up, but Slade could instantly tell between her low stature and nervous voice that she was truly sorry for something, as she spoke, he understood what it was.
"Slade? Before I say anything else that could possibly screw something up, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for what I said to you.. I know I shouldn't talk to you like that, but I honestly couldn't control myself very well at the time and..."
In the silence, Slade quickly threw in his words. "No need to be sorry for doing the right thing. EVER... You did what was right, and exactly what I asked you to do. Apparently I had no control over the conversation and was not doing it correctly anyhow, I asked you to help and you did." Loving yet friendly smile growing across his face as he nudged her shoulder and muttered a kind "Thank you." before letting her finish. Her next speech was long, and pretty much nailed Slade right in the heart. He was foolish to grow angry, but thats just how he was. Though it was good that Bones had never saw that side of him personally yet, because she'd probably leave him in a heartbeat. He tried to keep it hidden, he really did, but words were his worst enemy, sometimes being so hurtful and rude. No, he'd never lay a hoof or tooth on a mare, it wasn't right unless they fought first however, Slade didn't want to find the day where he was yelling at Bones either. Letting all of Hael's words sink into his mind he just stood there with a blank expression for a little while. Not even noticing that in the meantime Mouse and Bone's had left his field of vision for a little bit. Finally, when everything sank in, he looked to Hael. He couldn't help but think how things would have been, had he picked Hael, and became Mouse's father. However, he quickly forced the thoughts out of his mind and replaced them with Bones. He felt bad for her, he did. For her having to experience such pain and confusion that comes along with a pregnancy, however, he didn't want to be doubted either. Still looking to Hael, almost blankly, he snapped out of his awkward gaze and let a smile appear across his maw. Reaching his muzzle out to pull on her mane as a kind gesture before letting his deep voice rumble. "Hael, you are a very valuable part of this herd. No apology needed, but it is accepted anyway. I can not thank you enough for what you have done today. You saved me here, you really did. You saved US, and that us includes my unborn foal. One day, I will think of a great way to repay you. I do promise that..." He planned to say more, or at least wanted to. However, the sudden stench of unknown equines filled his nares. Quickly, placing himself between Hael and the unknowns, he took another inhale... was that, Bones, Mouse and Caruso too? Couldn't be? Waiting for a moment, he snorted a warning before the equines came info view, Mouse was marching in the front, looking like he had just scored his first girlfriend with how proud his stature was. Behind him followed Bones, Caruso and then two unknown mares one obviously heavily pregnant. "Oh boy." he muttered softly, to the point where only he and Hael would be able to hear. He was just getting over a catastrophe with his mate and now here she was, herself heavily pregnant marching in with Caruso and the strangers. Quickly, he scrambled over and place himself between the horses, moving Hael, Mouse and Bones to his backside, protected, while he stood to face Caruso and the mares. Caruso, could handle himself at this point. How dare he bring two mares right into his lands with no warning. From behind him, Bones spoke up. He could tell she was a bit nervous to speak, probably because she saw how he had previously looked angered, however, he welcomed his mate's words kindly. “Um…I believe Caruso ran into some mares a little outside of the herd territory. He’s walking them towards the herd lands now. I didn’t talk to them because I figured you would want to know right away. I’m sure he’s bringing them here to talk to you, and they are both mares. One is really pregnant, they probably need shelter or something,” Responding back, his deep voice gentle and caring towards Bones. "I do believe you are right. Thank you my dear for coming a head and coming straight to me. I would be devastated if anything had happened to you. Thank you also for keeping Mouse safe. See, you really can do this my love." He said with a wink before giving a glance to Hael, hoping what he said would be.. well good enough for Bone's tender state right now.. However, his glance then quickly changed back to Caruso and the mares as they now stood in front of him. This time, his voice stern and ment business. "Ahh. Welcome ladies. My name is Slade and I am the lead stallion here. I must ask you first off, what business do you have here? Are you of pure blood, or mind? Have you killed before? and what do you wish to gain by coming to my herd?" All questions were pretty relevant. There was something about the pregnant mare that seemed to rub Slade the wrong way, something about the way she held herself and the look in her eyes. However, the second mare, surprisingly looked a lot like Hael between stature and coloring... Then, the lead shot a glance at Caruso, an angry and evil type look. Slade was rather pissed at him because of the pure fact that he brought two unknown mares right into the middle of his herd instead of making them wait outside where the herd was safe. And secondly, because he was outside the lands in the first place. However he'd deal with his old pal later. Opticals then looked back towards both mares, awaiting their reply.
DONE for slade. let me get a caruso post up quick too before this board keeps going thanks guys!

Justa Good Fellow
Ready to start a life
The perlino paint stallion listened from afar as he heard the pregnant mare answer him back first.. "Ding ding ding, we have a winner." She spoke. However, it wasn't quite the pleasant response that Caru was hoping for, infact she seemed to have a bit of evil in her, just the tone of her voice and the remark she made pointed all signs to red. However, quickly Caruso watched as the second mare seemed to scold the pregnant mare before she let herself speak. "Hello. I am Sachi and that's Yui. We mean you no harm, we're just looking for a place to stay. You're right, Yui is very pregnant. She will give birth soon, no doubt. We just need a safe place. Will you help us?"Now that mare, she seemed a bit more.. pure. Her tone of voice was more caring and honestly quite convincing that they really just needed a place to stay. Though Caruso wasn't entirely convinced that the pregnant mare would be a good mare to bring into the herd.. well his kind heart overuled his judgement. Leaving a highly pregnant mare outside herdlands would be a cruel thing to do, even if she had a traveling partner. He hoped Slade would feel the same for the pregnant mare, and accept his decision to bring them back to the herd. However, deep down he had a bad feeling that Slade would in some way, shape or form not like his decision and find some way to harp on him. But oh well, he couldn't just leave the mares out here.. What if Yui needed help with the birth?. Letting out a deep sigh, he took a few steps closer to them and then halted before speaking up. " I'm Caruso. You can follow me then. But I'll tell you now, the lead is not going to put up with any sneaky moves or snappy attitudes, so its best to leave that outside the herdlands." It was the best advice he could give, and also the most words that he could muster up the courage to say.. Turning away from them, he started to walk off a few paces before turning to look back at them and swinging his head, motioning for them to follow him in. However, Caru didn't get many more paces off before he caught the sight of Mouse onlooking from behind a tree, right before Bones came into view and sent him off, back to the lands. Another sigh came from his lips. BUSTED.. busted outside the herdlands by none other then the lead mare, grrreeaaattt. He snorted softly and continued walking as he watched Bones turn away ahead of him and dart into the lands herself as well. Giving a glance back, he looked to the mares to make sure they were keeping on his heels before entering. He slowed up a bit so Yui could follow easier, but also so they stayed closer to him while they walked through the terra. Soon enough, Slade appeared into view, atop his favorite hill of course. Hael, Mouse and Bones all standing with him. Caru only shook his head slightly as thoughts ran through his brain... Slade was probably going to scold him good for this, and of course, right infront of the mare that he was trying to work up the courage to talk to, Hael. A bit saddened about what was to come, he let his mind drift for a minute before he halted infront of Slade, the two mares right behind him. Lips still sealed however as he let Slade speak first. "Ahh. Welcome ladies. My name is Slade and I am the lead stallion here. I must ask you first off, what business do you have here? Are you of pure blood, or mind? Have you killed before? and what do you wish to gain by coming to my herd?"The lead stallion spoke as Caruso just listened. However, right after the words left Slade's mouth, Caruso chimed in, trying to hard to help his case and to not get into so much trouble for this. "I was patrolling. Came across these two and couldn't leave a pregnant mare outside the safety of a herd... So well, here they are, to face your judgement." His voice was soft, almost timid like he knew he was going to probably catch hell for this. However, he let courage grapple him as he stepped right next to Slade and whispered in his ear so only he could hear. "I would watch the pregnant one tho, she seems to be aweful snippy and rude for a pure. I'd watch her for you if you'd like." Slade had listened, however, Caruso wasn't sure if he was making his case worse, or better, but either way he wanted to be honest with Slade.. Looking around, Caruso finally noticed the setup. Slade had placed himself between the new comers and Bones, Hael and Mouse. Protecting them of course. Though as Caru's eyes scanned the small group, they landed on Hael and just stuck there for a moment. The way the sun bounced off her light coat was just so... eye catching.. And for being a bit thick boned himself, he liked the fact that Hael was a more draft type breed. she was.. beautiful. Letting a smile slip from his lips for just a moment as he looked to Hael, before his glance quickly changed back to Slade and the two mares, eager to hear their responses to Slade's questions. ooc; DONE.
