Lillyan the free spirit The sky was a light blue colour as the clouds rolled by, leaving no trace behind. Critters of different sizes played about on the lush green grass that flourished near the stream. It was a calmly sight in the mountain valley that could have been a “picture perfect” moment for an outsider. In a moment’s notice, the valley sprung in a picture of “liveliness”. Birds called out from the sky as they flew beside a creature of the wind. Their calls seemed to call out the one that ran on all fours as though they were having a race. Soon the ground rumbled with thundering beats, sending the critters scurrying up the trees into the branches where they could scout and see from whom the thunder was sent. Its source appeared on the horizon running alongside the birds that it raced.
Four hooves clamored on the ground again and again. They ran across the land as though they were on air. Upon reaching the edge of the stream, the equine leapt and landed on the other side with a soft thud stopping in her tracks. Her head turned up to the sky, seeing the pair of birds that circled above her. She rose on her hinds, striking the sky with her front hooves, and releasing a lively neigh. The birds chattered back before leaving to the mountains that stood in the distance, leaving the mare alone as she descended from the sky. "What a fun race," she giggled to herself, turning back to the stream and the land that she raced upon. Critters began to return to their places before her arrival and some stared at the chestnut paint.
Her coat was canvas of chestnut brown and white, splashes of white covered her withers on both sides and a V marking from the croup half way across the rump. Some would describe it as a silhouette of a bird that is flying. Her mane was the same pure chestnut colour as most of her coat and her legs were adorned with a variation of white socks and stockings between each limb. In her tail, the colours were partitioned with chestnut at her dock, white in between, and a streak of dark brown in the middle of her tail. It was quite unusual to have a random dark streak considering that was the only dark colouration on the equine’s body, however, her father always teased that it was “proof” that she was her mother’s child.
Lillyan smiled at the thought of her parents, she missed them but they taught her well and now was the time to live her own life. A breath released from her nares as she took in the sight of the lovely mountain valley view. So far she had not met nor picked up scents of other equine. Perhaps she stumbled across land that did not inhabit others like her. Although, why not? It made no sense since the area was lush with grass to feed on and water to quench the thirst of multiple animals. Looking over the land once more, seeing the critters play and the water churn quietly. It was probably the best that no herd settles directly on this land. It may bounce back like other places and run dry. Lillyan lowered her mouth to the stream, drinking silently, and pondering the thought of meeting other equines. Wondering when she might meet others, how they would react to her, and vice versa. ‘Guess I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it,’ she thought before taking her last gulp, leaving the stream to wander the mountain valley. | Words 604 Tags Notes Introduction into role play for Lillyan |
