Hell Hath No Fury Like a female scorned There was the rhythmic four beat gait, the deep gulps of breath, and the soft rush of an exhale. The gallop; a gait normally used to cover short distances, or more importantly, escape from predators.
Quickly starting to tire Asira risked looking back and scanned behind her with a quick glance before deciding to stop. It seems she had managed to ditch her pursuers, but it would only be a matter of time before they caught up if she didn't keep going. No time to eat or sleep. She started forward again breathing heavily. White foam was starting to form on her sweat drenched chest and along the portion of her neck. "Damn" she cursed underneath her breath blinking away what felt like sweat trying to get into her eyes. She could no longer rely on his name to get out of sticky situations. It was unfortunate, yet a blessing all at once.
"You hear that Dubai! You've reached the end of the line. YOU CAN'T TOUCH ME!" she gloated loudly with a prance or two forward. His kingdom, his fame, had officially been left for the dust to settle on. /Filthy bastard/ she sneered in her mind while looking to the horizon for some sort of clue as to where to go next.
She had to be more cautious now. Ever since two days ago she noticed Dubai's name becoming less and less powerful. This last band of three stallions that happened upon her while she was sleeping had not a clue who she spoke of; so her immunity had completely evaporated and she had to make a run for it. Whereas before she had been able to whisper the cruel and merciless stallion's name only to be left alone by whoever happened to pester her. Ah well, she had gotten more than her useful share from his legendary name. Now, she had traveled so far that it no longer carried meaning.
Asira looked herself over and sighed with relief. The cuts on her legs and the bite mark on her hindquarters were minor injuries. They would heal within days and the pain wasn't an issue since her adrenaline was still pumping like mad. Asira stopped walking and stood there for a moment trying to get her breath under control. It was starting to hurt. Like she was suffocating on the huge gulps of air she was trying to take in all at once.

she was like a time bomb set into motion and destined to explode. Although the foreign lands she'd followed Mayhem into had seemed bizarrely pleasant in the worst kind of way, Ariado was very much inclined to her usual vices. It was easy for her attention to be lost on something, and perhaps that was a fault, a disadvantage in some world. The mare's flitting attention wasted no time in drifting off, her hooves following lazily as they did.
She wandered aimlessly throughout the land, trekking after the non-existent chirping of birds, her sole eye watching the sky curiously for these imaged creatures, when in fact it was eerily empty of that life. She missed much while she hovered in these daydreams, mind light and gossamer with sweet nothings as she quite effectively got herself lost in the Loner Lands, leaving Mayhem and the odd, quarreling horses in her wake.
Only when Ari heard the unanswered callings of a mare, ones with arrogant undertone, did she return to some state of aware. Ari let out an abrupt snort, swinging her head left and right in endless movements, a pendulum weighted only by her own neck. Her tail mimicked the same action as she meandered easily about the terrain, in no hurry and with no hesitation, if only because she wasn't quite thinking about consequences.
Ari sighted the mare in the distance only a ways off, her incessant head-swinging unceasing. It was more of an involuntary habit, as she could carry on conversation without realizing. The bay mare clicked her teeth together twice, loudly, announcing her presence, and furthermore surprising her own ears with the echo of the sounds as they resonated. Somewhere, Ariado wondered if this mare were yelling to anyone in particular, noticing in late that there was no one in any close direction to her.

Hell Hath No Fury Like a woman scorned The presence had been felt just moments before the approach had been heard. Asira's ears flicked with annoyance as she turned to face the stranger closing in on her.
By now her respiration had stabilized, but she was still extremely tired and starting to feel the soreness of her over-worked muscles and the stinging of her cuts. The adrenaline was subsiding. She was in no condition to clash against an assailant should this visitor decide to strike. Asira was starting to realize the folly in her conduct. Perhaps one of her greatest vices was never actually considering the consequences of her actions. She was impulsive in nature and always stubborn and headstrong with her current desires. She tended to live in the here and now with minimal thought into what was to come. This was the embodiment of her fiery personality, and although it had many faults, she was unyielding in her ways; even into maturity.
She looked over the bay mare, the missing eye being of course the first point of observation. As she wandered closer their height and age seemed to almost match perfectly. At least she thought so. Asira stood her ground feeling a slight air of confidence return to her despite having just ran like hell to save her life. Surely a half blind mare could not best her should it come down to a fight.
She took a step or two forward just for the point of making it seem like she was 'meeting the mare' then nodded in slight welcoming to her. "Who are you?" she questioned bluntly. There was no point in being cautious or participating in mind games especially for someone feeling so flustered and exhausted.

she was like a time bomb set into motion and destined to explode. Ari watched with limited interest as the mare stepped closer towards her, and the bay mare grinned back manically with mangled teeth. Ari wasn't so aware that somewhere there was a missing link between how she desired to come across and the physical aspect of her actions. Her movements were always abrupt and unnatural, stiff or completely unnerving, even if she didn't intend to scare. The mare flicked her ears in circles a moment, surveying the area subtly as the grey mare spoke.
/Who are you?/
Ari tipped her head slowly, her sole eye making the best eye contact she could manage as her mind whirred into action. A strange wave of calm came over her features as she opened her muzzle to answer, "I'm Ariado. Where did you come running from, grey mare?" Ari asked curiously, head held sideways in the same questioning way, her dark forelock falling away from her empty eye and drawing all the more attention to it.
The bay mare's knees twitched impatiently beneath her, as if unable to stay in one place. This strange mare though was littered with fresh gashes and a thin layer of white foam, sweat that pooled where her joints met. Ari absently wondered what she'd gotten herself into, and if she'd have attackers tracking at her heels. The thought let ripple of unbridled laughter bubble up from her lungs, for whatever reason that the bay mare found it amusing. Her teeth clicked together impatiently as she awaited her reply, snapping together with increasing force as the moments ticked forward.

Hell Hath No Fury Like a woman scorned Asira watched with discomfort as the mare who called herself Ariado twitched and stood there in the most awkward of poses. It even made Asira herself want to spasm. Well, it was definitely apparent that not all of Ariado's lights upstairs were working correctly. Asira wondered if the mare was dying.
She had witnessed this type of imbalance before, when one of Dubai's mares started losing her coordination. Her balance disappeared and after a day or two the mare started ramming her head against trees and eventually went down. She never did get back up. It was what happened when you ate things you weren't familiar with.
"Been eating some strange plants lately?" Asira asked halfheartedly while moving on. There was no point in conversing with a doomed one. "I'm looking for someone. Seen any white pig looking mares anywhere?". It was the most viable excuse she could come up with at present. She would never admit to running away from someone; at least not to a complete stranger. Besides, it's not like she was being entirely untruthful. Finding Safi had been a goal of hers for quite some time now, she just hadn't gotten around to it yet.
Asira paused for a minute looking in different directions as if trying to decide where to head off to next. She inhaled and received nothing in return; no feelings, no instinct, just absolutely nothing. Great. She was stuck in this dusty ass place with no real clue as to where to go next.
ooc: I have no clue about the surrounding area and what it looks like =X lol

she was like a time bomb set into motion and destined to explode. Ari stepped sideways as the mare turned to look around, scenting the air and looking disappointed at whatever it was she found. She mulled over the grey mare's questions, taking an exceedingly long amount of time for them to process completely. The silence left her staring relentlessly into the newcomer's eyes, as if trying to find the answer in them. The bay mare herself wasn't purposely doing so, but was focusing her energy on decoding the words rather than her appearance. Less than usual, that is.
When she came to the question finally, Ari bent her neck curiously left, a soft grin crossing her features. "I don't remember eating much of anything, now that I think of it..." She said quietly, mostly to herself. It didn't seem to bother her much, as her demeanor switched again.
"I have seen many pig looking horses in these lands, but no white ones, I'm afraid," Ariado answered with even tone, head returning to a position that was more of an equine's norm. Her ears swatted the air pointlessly, as there was no activity around them at all. She looked around the land, expression puzzled, "I think I have lost my lead as well, it seems."
Ari shrugged a shoulder, but it very well could have been a spasming muscle. "What is your name? If you'd want, we could walk together, though I'm not sure I know this land much better."

Hell Hath No Fury Like a woman scorned The way the mare stared into her eyes had completely crossed the line of eerie, and just felt downright wrong. Asira wondered for a long time if it was some sort of challenge, but the awkwardness of Ariado proved otherwise. Her social skills had to be completely jacked up. It wasn't like Asira could complain much about it, she herself wasn't exactly the best at conversing in a formal or 'correct' manner.
"Shame..." she whispered in a dishonest tone already forgetting about the search for Safi.
"You seem crazy. Did you know that?" again another sign that showed Asira lacked any kind of filter when it came to her words. She happened to just say what she was thinking whether or not it was hurtful to the other individual. "It really takes a special kind of horse to not only forget to eat, but also lose your lead? How did you even manage that?" Running away; sure Asira could take that, but losing a lead didn't sound right at all. Asira thought maybe Ariado had been left behind on purpose. Her mental state could be seen as a weaker link to a herd that valued strength.
Asira sighed then shook out her mane and motioned for Ariado to follow. "Come on....let's go" she said without a second thought and started moving off in a direction that seemed the best way to find food and water. At this point Asira was just going off on instinct. It's not like the both of them knew the land like the back of their ass. They would just have to wander around aimlessly until they stumbled upon something better than here.
"I'm Asira...the bitchy one"

she was like a time bomb set into motion and destined to explode. Ariado perpetuated a look of confusion as she watched the mare talk, rather than listen. Her words were sharp and not filtered in any way. If Ari weren't missing something in her mind, if she were completely sane, she might have wondered if that sharp tongue was what had gotten her hurt. The bay mare drew her attention to Asira's injuries once more, curious to see how long she could actually make it and furthermore if they were hindering her at all.
Ari supposed she should have been insulted by the things the grey mare spouted, calling her crazy and special, and not in the good way. It didn't bother her however, perhaps because she wasn't all there or possibly because her attention danced away from the words as Asira suddenly started walking away with a beckon to follow.
The bay mare did so, though unsure of whether or not Asira was being completely serious in her command. Ariado jogged lightly to catch up, hooves heavy and awkward, and slowed to a walk beside her, matching the pace.
"Hmm..." Ari pondered aloud, not able to look at Asira from the side glance, as she stood on the side in which she was missing an eye. It didn't bother her though, even though being unaware of your left side was quite hindering. The grey mare could easily throw a kick without Ari even seeing, but the latter mare wasn't as sharp as she used to be.
"Asira, then," she paused, tail swatting behind her incessantly, but she carried on as if she hadn't even realized, "What do you plan on doing, when you get to wherever you're going? I can't begin to imagine many horses will tolerate your quick tongue..." Ari clicked her teeth together as she stifled a mad spout of laughter.

Hell Hath No Fury Like a female scorned How could she? It was wrong, so very wrong, but Asira could not help herself. She stared incessantly at the missing eye. How could she not? It was just...not there. Completely gone, just like that. It was so creepy, yet intriguing. Asira wondered how the mare had lost it, or better yet, could she still feel it sometimes?
Asira was just about to blurt out the question when the bay mare started to speak, interrupting what might have been a bad situation. Well, at least Ariado couldn't see her staring at it consistently. Slowly forcing her mind away from the subject she was tempted to bring up Asira just so happened to catch the slight restraint following Ari's comment. It didn't bother her.
"Good!" she almost shouted in a bellowing sort of way. "Their sensitive ass can get the hell out of my way then! I don't have time to deal with others who are to busy hiding from reality. If they can't handle the truth then they can't handle life, and they sure as hell can't handle me". It was a matter-of-factly kind of statement, but even Asira herself couldn't realize just how much of a hypocrite she was deep down in her soul.
Where her curiosity had been was now replaced by a menacing look. Asira held a grudge against those who were blinded by the harsh truth of the real world. Shit wasn't nice. Life isn't good and surviving it sucked balls.
The gray mare sighed instantly calming herself down and unknowingly holding back images of the past. "I'll figure something out. I always do". She offered Ariado a reassuring look then slowed to a more suitable pace for the both of them. Ari's heavy feet had not gone unnoticed.

she was like a time bomb set into motion and destined to explode. Ariado jumped slightly, jolted by the unprecedented shout. She watched on with peaked interest, turning her head to face Asira as they walked, so she could at least see some part of her. It was curious, the grey mare's defenses, and her sudden forcefulness. Perhaps tying into some past experience that Ari didn't care to ask about, if only to not make her only walking partner angry with her.
However, a chilled grin pulled her lips apart and Ari gave her best notion of a smile, somewhat of an off-center press of teeth. Still mostly distinguishable, though, as what it was meant to be. She chuckled lightly to herself, head swinging in some sort of glee. She'd lucked out apparently, in finding Asira instead of some daft fool.
"I'm glad you feel that way," Ari said honestly, looking forward again, suddenly grateful that the grey mare had slowed her pace a fraction. It wasn't a fun task to be constantly walking sideways just to see straight ahead.
For one thing though, Ari found herself growing to admire Asira, especially for her stark wit and intense demeanor. It wasn't often that Ari even paid attention to other horses, and certainly never for long, but this mare made her try her best to pay attention. Perhaps they'd be a pair of primitive friends, of sorts. Or maybe they'd be enemies after all. Ari hoped not, as she had enough of those already. All of which she didn't remember whatsoever.

Hell Hath No Fury Like a female scorned They gray mare fell silent for a long moment. It was unusual for her, but possible nonetheless. She took the small time to reflect and to calm her nerves like heavy sighing happened to do when she was in the middle of screaming and carrying on.
After a while she looked up to see if Ariado was still there, although there was no reason she wouldn't be, and finally returned the question. "What about you? What do you plan on doing now that you've lost your lead? Or are you still on the hunt to find him?"
Asira's ears perked and her pace quickened as she noticed the grass starting to thicken as the trees grew farther and farther a part. It was a small clearing with a bit of lush short grass. It seemed good enough to graze on. Asira approached the grass and instantly lowered her head to eat, not realizing just how depraved she'd really been. Now that she was able to eat her stomach was growling and churning with hunger. It was so unnatural to go without food for so long. It had been hours!
As she snatched up a mouthful of grass Asira looked up and studied the surrounding area to make sure there was no danger around; a precaution she should have taken before starting to eat. However, getting ahead of herself she wasn't much interested in watching out for what could be a harmful situation. For all she knew someone had claimed this bit of grass as theirs and she was going to eat it all with no remorse.
Suddenly realizing she had asked Ariado about her intentions, Asira mumbled with mouth full of grass. "So you gonna answer or what?"

she was like a time bomb set into motion and destined to explode. Ariado smiled haphazardly as she let Asira get ahead of her, watching as the grey mare dipped her head to the sprouting green grass. It was the smallest patch, but the most Ari had seen since last summer. The snow still hung around in small pieces, and Ari stomped on a few small piles as she stopped in front of Asira.
The bay mare thinning her eyes confusedly as she considered Asira's returning question. For the life of her, she tried to understand. Possibly the hardest she'd attempted anything. It made her head hurt, but after a long silence, Ari shook her head violently in frustration with herself. When she'd ended the small tantrum, she still could not fathom the mare's words into a response she was wanting.
She tipped her head far left, bending her neck unnaturally, expressing confusion in the unnerving action. The mare let out a gust of a breath. "What have I lost? I apologize, I don't understand..." she admitted, the most honest she'd been of late.
After a few following minutes of thinking, Ariado gave up and dipped her head to nibble at a small portion of the grass. However, it didn't taste right to her tongue suddenly. She tasted no more, but allowed herself to lay down in it instead. Her ears instinctively mapped out the area in sounds, but eventually she lowered her muzzle to the ground, staring incessantly at the green blades with a scowl.
