If you couldn't be loved the next best thing was to be let alone. Brigid was a mess as she stood there and watched them fight. Even though Caruso seemed to be holding his own, it still worried her. Her brown eyes were trained on him, flinching when Doc hit his bite wound and made him bleed even more. It sickened her, but he seemed to be only a little phased by the whole action. He was such a strong stallion, she didn’t deserve for him to protect her. She had not done anything for him to do this to her, yet here he was taking a beating for a mare he had just met.
The evil words that left Doc’s mouth made her tense up, her heart beating faster as she felt panic seeking in once more. Even though she was not in heat, the idea of him being…she stopped the thoughts right there. Just the mere thought, the thoughts associated with it, made her feel like running away. She just felt repulsed and needed to get away from him, but she couldn’t leave Caruso. Not after he was trying to save her.
When Caruso bit into his back and the blood poured, it almost made Bri sick. The coppery smell associated with it and the contrasting red, she was made out to see and be around this kind of thing. This was the first fight she had seen, she only conversed with friendly equines, and she had her fill for the rest of her life. Her brown eyes were hopeful as Caruso turned to hopefully end this fight, but then Doc was faster.
The crack that sounded from Caruso’s head being hit by Doc’s hooves made a small gasp slip through her lips, watching in horror as her perlino protector staggered and fell to the ground. Her eyes never moved to Doc, she was too worried about Caru as she watched him and prayed he would give up. The words he yelled to her hit her like bricks, run. She needed to run. She didn’t want to leave Caruso there though, just laying their and blacking out.
The mare was frozen for only a half second before she wheeled around and took off. She was breathing heavy and she could hear her pulse racing in her ears, but she only focused on running faster. Her light colored stones pounded against the frozen ground as she raced to get away from Doc. She couldn’t let him catch her, she couldn’t let Caruso’s attempt to save her go to waste.
The champagne stopped when she felt she was far enough, breathing heavy as she looked around in a panicked way. She had ran, so maybe Doc would go for the other mare. A terrible wish, but anything was better than herself. Her nostrils flared, trying to see if she could smell his stench from here. She must of out run the older stallion, she had gotten away. She just needed to wait now and then she would circle back to go find Caruso and make sure he was okay. words: tagged: Caruso and Doc notes:

Doc and Caruso!* Wait until you can't feel it anymore, close your eyes and let me do my business. Your life won't last much longer so you better remember the good times now. The dun stallion hissed and snorted angered when he heard Caruso yell out to Bri. As soon as the brute had the moment to turn and look he could see the Champange mare dashing away as fast as she could. This only angered the envious stag more before his took out his anger on the now passed out Caruso. Doc lifted his lips and showed his teeth before biting down one last time on Caruso's pelt, this time on his neck, ripping the flesh in an instant and tasting his warm blood. Satisfied, he released and spat the hair from his mouth right onto Caruso's face before turning to walk away. The dun at first eyed the large grey mare, thinking maybe he would just take the easy way out instead of having to run for Bri, but he knew it would be all to easy to breed to a mare whom no one really cared about or fought for. Yes, it would be much more rewarding to steal Caruso's mare. The dun smiled with evil tendencies in mind as he made headway for the direction the mare ran off in. As he flew by the large grey mare he just gave her a wink and yelled "I'll save you for next time, sweety!" in passing. Next time, she would be his as well. Though this time he had the Champange in his sights.
Doc's wavy black mane and tail lapped in the wind as he moved briskly though the crisp winter air. The hot breath from his nares puffed into the sky like smoke as he drew closer to his prize. He could smell her sweet scent getting stronger even though she clearly wasn't in heat, this would be such a reward for him. Taking down a stallion larger then himself and then satisfying his sick hunger with the brutes mate. Evil swept his features as he neared her, now within eye sight. However, he was moving so fast, so swift you could barely hear him coming. His hooves traveled along the ground like he was walking on water, effortlessly. Sick minded thoughts in tow as he lowered his private parts before actually coming in contact with the mare. He was ready for action and his slice of heaven with yet again his choice of mare. Devious smile planted on his black muzzle as he reached the perfect spot behind the mare.
WARNING. THE FOLLOWING IS SEXUAL.
Doc slid on his haunches to a halt as he lifted his front end up and mounted the mare with ease. His front hooves and legs dangled over the champanges mares belly and his white ivories biting behind the end of her mane ever so slightly. His hazel eyes looked down on the mares neck as his belly rubbed over her rump. He stood atop her while his hard black baby maker searched for the entrance into paradise as his fantasy was about to become a reality. He smiled while letting his vocals ring one last time before his member entered the innocent mare. "Its ok darling, just relax" Oddly enough his usually evil voice sounded almost soothing as his baby maker slowly entered the mare and a satisfied moan came the stags vocals. He was in heaven once again.
END OF SEXUAL PART!. THE REST IS PG-13!
CARUSO: The stag shifted upon the ground as he regained consciousness. He slowly struggled to stand as his head seemed to be still spinning around him. Though, Caruso knew he had to get his thoughts together fast. There was no sight of Bri, or Doc. Only the lone grey mare that came to help and because of that Caru feared the worst. A crazy bout of determination swept though his body as he cleared his throbbing head and put the new mission of finding Bri first. His eyes narrowed as he took in a deep breath of air and let his stones carry him as fast as they could towards his dear Champange friend. The Perlino neared the two horses rather quickly actually, but as soon as the pair was in his sights he gasped. Doc he already mounted and entered poor Bri and Caruso was too late. He charged, as fast and hard as he could and when he got right up to the side of the mare he barrel kicked above her and managed to get Doc right in the head like he had done to him. Lucky shot but it was enough to knock the fat old dun off Bri and on to the ground if only for a moment. Satisfied enough to at least have gotten Doc off Bri he smiled if ever so slightly and quickly directed his attention to the mare. He rushed to her side and nuzzled her neck softly before whispering into her ear calmly. "Its ok, I'm here. I'll never give up on saving you." His words genuine and caring before he looked back to Doc who was still knocked out on the ground. Before he too had a chance to regain himself Caruso had no choice but to rush Bri. After such a horrific thing had happened to her he felt horrible for making her come to terms and move on, but they had to. Caruso then lightly muttered "We must go, fast." But waited for her response before even taking a step. If she needed time, he was more then happy to finish the job on the Dun. It would be his pleasure.

If you couldn't be loved the next best thing was to be let alone. Brigid hadn’t even noticed him coming, she didn’t hear a thing. He was so light on his feet, by the time he was close to her, it was too late. Air released from her lungs once the stallion mounted her, not ready for the extra weight. She began to panic then, struggling to get the big stag off of her. This couldn’t be happening to her, this was everything she feared. Even with every struggle she had though, Doc was not getting off. The words he spoke next did not soothe her though, they only made her struggle harder and her heart beat quicken.
A soft sound of pain slipped through the mare’s lips as the stallion entered, and Bri lost her ability to fight then. Maybe if she just stood here he would stop, he would get bored quickly and leave her be. She tried to push the feeling of him out of her mind, to try and act like he wasn’t there, but there was no point in even trying. She couldn’t ever get the thought and feeling and pure humiliation of being bred by a monster while she wasn’t even in heat. There was no point to what he was doing other than sick enjoyment.
Once the champagne mare could feel he was done, as sickening as that was for her, she just wanted him off. She wanted him out, she wanted him gone. She wanted to never see his nasty face again. Everything seemed to happen pretty fast after that. Before Doc could even get off of her Caru came in, kicking the stallion in the head and he fell from his position on top of her. It was a relief, but at the same time it didn’t matter, he had already done his deed.
Caruso nuzzled her neck then, though Brigid felt little comfort in it. She did take comfort in his words though, she felt a little safer if Caru stayed by her side. If he stayed, she wouldn’t blame him if he left. Not after what that stallion did to her. She didn’t say a single word, she just didn’t know what to say to him. She was humiliated and disgusted and she was still too scared to move from her position. She just didn’t know how to get the feelings to disappear or the thoughts to stop, she didn’t know what to do.
Caruso’s words broke through then, causing her to look up at him. “Yes…” She mumbled softly, they needed to leave. They needed to get away from Doc before he woke up. Though she wanted Caru to just kill him, but she couldn’t let her emotions get ahold of her and let that want someone dead. No matter what that someone did to her. She nuzzled him back once more, just wanting a moment of comfort. Her mind was racing and she wasn’t sure what to do with herself. Except for wanting to hide and not be seen again, but that wasn’t going to happen.
She started walking forward, not feeling like moving any faster. It wasn’t like Doc could do anything else to her, he had done the worst he could do. Except for actually impregnate her, which thankfully she was no in heat. That was the one thing that was good about the whole situation. Though it was just as sickening, he would simply breed a mare for his pleasure and to tear her apart. She would constantly be reminded of this and it wasn’t going to leave her thoughts. That monster, Doc, she would always remember what he had done to her. words: 605tagged:Doc and Caruso notes: My poor Bri.

all you need is a little faith, trust AND PIXIE DUST
♥ Pixie flinched at the strange stallion's nudge, her eyes still full with anger and rage. '“Come on. We need to keep going, you’ll thank me one day. You’ll understand it all. I won’t hurt you unless you make me, now get moving.”'The grey mare snorted at him, trying to think of a plan to escape, but wasn't sure on how to do it exactly. "What do you want from me?"She spat out, dark eyes turning to his. It had confused her that he hadn't tried to force breed or anything yet. Usually Envious just want to get it done and then throw the mares aside. She knew how that felt; she went through it, but this stag puzzled her greatly. She glanced at him again with eyes creased and narrowed. "You wouldn't hurt me. Obviously you want me for something." ♥ |

Caruso
and carry it away Caruso held still as Bri nuzzled him softly back. He could tell she was very hesitant and still shocked by what had happened. Overall the Perlino was very hurt himself and not in the way of actual battle wounds that he had gotten, but the fact that he didn't make it in time to actually save Bri from having her innocence torn away. He felt as if he maybe didn't give it his all. Maybe he could have saved her from that horror if he had tried harder. Though he couldn't let himself feel sorry for Bri or him. Caru knew he needed to just act fast and get the both of them out of there. As he heard Bri's quiet murmur he waited for her yet to move. Soon enough, the mare pressed forward at a slow walk, tho not a great pace to be at, he could only hope Doc would stay with his lights out for awhile so they could put some distance between them. However, Caruso was willing to fight though too if he had to.
Mind still throbbing and his side finally stopped bleeding as he pressed his body up against Bri's to try and give her some comfort and stability. His large frame was a bit taller then hers but his heart was so pure and loving that you would never think a larger framed stallion could just be so pure. He hated having to fight Doc, every moment of it, but at the same time the actions he took against the envious stag were the ones he thought were correct. He only could think any horse would do what he had done, given they were in his position.
As they moved along Caruso decided to break the silence for once, his maw opened as his comforting voice spoke. "I'm sorry I couldn't get to you sooner Bri, terribly sorry. I blacked out and when I came to, you were gone. Though I wasn't surprised because I told you to run, but I was surprised that the heartless stag ran for you and didn't take the easy mare right there in front of him... For that, you have my deepest apologies." His voice was so soft, calming and sincere as he had spoke. Caruso truly did feel sorry for what had happened, but there was nothing to do of it now, it was done and over with and now was the time to move on. He hoped his presence didn't bother Bri after just being traumatized by another stallion, but comforted her instead to know that someone was on her side right now. Now, they just needed to find a safe haven to rest and heal for a while, both mentally and physically. Though neither of them liked herd life, so finding a herd to relax for a few days in was pretty much out of the question. Right now, they would have to find somewhere safe to rest and heal together. Suddenly, a great place popped into Caruso's mind. He had been there long ago, it was a labyrinth of caves, something that you could get lost in for days if you didn't quite know you way around. It would be the perfect place to relax for a bit without worry that another equine would find you, because if they tried they would most likely get lost too. Though, Caru had the upped hand, knowing his way around at least a little bit, enough to get them though the tunnels and into the center of the cave mess where there was a few trees, a small meadow and of course, the cave to take shelter in which sometimes gathered puddles of water. Right now, he assumed those puddles would be made up of melted snow rather then rainfall, but that didn't matter much, at least it would be shelter. Caruso nudged Bri's neck softly and pushed into her side a little bit to get her to head a little more NorthEast. There, they would come across the caves.. He half smiled trying to give the mare a glimmer of hope as his eye seemed to twinkle followed by his warm voice. "I know of the perfect place to relax and heal at our own pace. Just follow my lead." His voice confident and reassuring. This was really his only hope for a safe haven...

If you couldn't be loved the next best thing was to be let alone. Brigid walked forward with Caruso, and when he pushed himself lightly against her it was not completely unwelcome. Yes he was a stallion and a stallion had just hurt her deeply, but he was not that kind of stallion. She would be more timid against new comers and probably very reluctant to leave Caru’s side, he was the rock that would keep her safe. Hopefully. Her resolve on not wanting to join a herd or find a mate was a little firmer now, she wasn’t sure she could trust anyone now. Doc hadn’t seemed that bad, not as bad as he turned out to be anyway.
She tried to stop her wandering mind from thinking about Doc and the future, she just needed to think about now. Getting away from Doc was the big thing, before he woke up, and the thought of him waking up and being close to them still made her hooves move a bit faster. She never wanted to hear his voice or see his evil eyes again, or…The champagne mare stopped her thoughts. She was tearing herself up even more by constantly thinking about it. She just needed to move on, push it away and not think about it anymore. But that was hard for a mare who had been pampered the first two years of her life and the last year she had just been on her own making friends.
Her listening devices perked up at the familiar voice, listening to what he had to say. Before he was even done though, she was shaking her head. “It’s not your fault, please do not ever blame yourself. It was Doc’s fault, and my own. I was foolish and stopped because I thought Doc had given up. It is all my fault,” She murmured softly, not wanting him to feel guilty for what had happened. He had done all he could, he had risked everything. She was the one who was stupid enough to stop, thinking that Doc had given up. She should have known, she should have thought a little more and this never would have happened.
Caru’s voice soothed her though, hearing him talk made her relax a little bit more. She really hoped her didn’t plan on making this just a short stroll together anymore, because she would be terrified if he left her. She wouldn’t know what to do, especially after what had just happened. She didn’t think she would stay with him forever, but at least until she was better mentally and was able to get the thoughts and fear from her mind. Yes, maybe she could talk him into staying with her for at least that long.
She didn’t have to worry about it anymore though as she heard him speak, a small little grin on her face. “Hmm..that sounds pleasant,” She said easily, anything sounded pleasant right now if they could just be alone. That’s what she wanted, to be away from everyone else except for her perlino protector. She just needed some peace of mind and quietness so she could sort everything out and get through this rather large road bump. And then she could move on and go, hopefully with Caruso still at her side.

Take my heart
and carry it away Caruso felt like the relationship between he and Bri had changed so much between everything that happened. Though he had no real love for her, he was just a gentlemen. Pure hearted, kind and willing to do pretty much anything to keep a mare happy. I guess you could call him sappy or maybe too kind for a stallion but that was just how he was. If a mare wanted a big bad tough guy with the attitude to match then they were looking at the wrong stag. Although Caruso was wide in stature and a bit larger boned he was far from that type of stag. Quite and observant with a huge heart was more him. Though somehow, Bri seemed to get him to talk more then he usually ever would. But then again, he was usually also alone. Now his travels were laced with this mare, this champange mare at his side. He wasn't upset by it, he enjoyed her company but it was just a bit weird for him to have stuck with another loner for this long already. Plus with the time he would be spending with her while they both healed, he worried things could get a little more complicated between their relationship as friends. But one could not worry for too long or overthink anything because at this moment in time they were still racing against time with Doc probably waking up at any moment. Caruso's pace quickened as he walked with Bri, the furthur they got towards the safe haven of caves, the better. Earlier, she had talked about how it was her fault, interrupted him actually, though he didn't mind. However, it bothered him. It wasn't her fault as much as it wasn't his fault. They were both in the wrong place at the wrong time and Caruso knew why Doc ended up going after Bri in the end... he thought Bri was Caruso's mate. Caruso wasn't stupid to ignore the facts right infront of him, so he spoke up to Bri about the issue one last time. "It was neither of our faults really. Doc fought me, not because he wanted you, but because he wanted me to have to watch. He kept telling me to save you, to fight for you, like you were my mate. I really think Doc's cruel mind was wrapped around the fact that he would make me watch him force-breed my mate." With a pause, he cleared his throat and let his words ease from his vocals with slight hesitation. "Even though I am not your mate Bri, it still did hurt me. I'm hurt that I couldn't protect you from his doings. We don't have to put blame on each other, I am just sorry that I didn't make it there sooner to save you from that trauma." Another small pause came from the perlino stag as he tipped his head to catch a glimpse of Bri's eye. He took a look into them for a moment before regaining what he wanted to say. He felt like such a sap and felt like he was babbling far too much, but heck he figured he would have to get used to talking to someone sooner or later. "Truth is, I guess I've never had anyone to protect. After my parents were killed by my half brother and his father I left on my own. I've lived my entire life alone not really knowing what other type of life was out there. You Bri have showed me that there is much in life that I have missed. Thank you for that." His voice was so soothing and almost charming, though he didn't mean it. He was overall just a nice guy. All the while he spoke his pace still stayed with Bri's as they began to make good time away from Doc. They were at least 2 miles away now and time seemed to fly faster with a conversation to keep them going. The caves were just over the hill now and they would be safe there as long as Caruso could remember the best way in and out of course.
As they drew closer Caruso smiled and looked to Bri before stepping only a few steps in front of her to lead the way in. His head dipped down through the first cave as he was a bit too tall to fit in otherwise. Water dripped from the top of the cave and his hooves clanged on the rock below them giving an almost eerie feel to the place. As he walked he kept glancing back to check on Bri to make sure she took all the routes that he did. Finally, the last cave opened up into a beautiful paradise. There were a few trees in the center of a small meadow. Though everything was snow and frost covered thats what gave it some winter beauty. The trees almost glimmered and the snow was perfectly untouched. Water was collected in a few of the tunnels they had passed through due to melting snow, and dead grass, but grass nonetheless would be present under the snow to eat. A smile tugged at his lips as he looked back to see Bri's reaction before his soothing voice chimed in. "Our temporary home sweet home." /Our/.. it was a new word to him.

If you couldn't be loved the next best thing was to be let alone. Thoughts of getting away from everything for a while was now most precedence in her mind, she wanted space from others. She just wanted to feel like she didn’t need to worry anymore, and somewhere that was far away or secluded enough that Doc would not have to find them. Them, because Caruso would inevitably be there as well. Other than him fighting for her, she didn’t know why she felt such a pull to him. He was a very kind stallion, but she usually never stuck around another. She wasn’t developing feelings or anything from him, it was just that everything had happened in such a short time with him and he was the only one who would understand. At least, that was what she was telling herself.
She just hoped that her presence was welcome around him, that he was not bothered by her. Or hated her for making him feel obligated to fight the dun for her safety. She should of just told him to leave her, the outcome would have been the exact same anyway. Except Caruso wouldn’t have been hurt then, and she would be all by herself. She pushed the thoughts away, she couldn’t keep beating herself up over something they couldn’t change now. What was done was done, and they just had to get past her. Her listening devices perked up as she heard his soothing voice, listening intently to everything he had to say.
The words he said made sense, that Doc only wanted to breed her because he thought they were mates. She could see why he would think that, Brigid had been close to Caru when she had gotten nervous and scared. And then Caruso was willing to fight so hard for her when Doc had tried to get her. It made sense, and his words touched her. She paused for just a moment so she could nuzzle his neck. “Thank you though Caruso. You might not have stopped him, but you tried with everything you had and that means a lot to me. Many stallions wouldn’t do that, and I hope you are not in touch much pain from what happened,” She murmured softly, before once again falling quiet as the stallion spoke.
A small frown spread across her lips as he spoke about his family, she couldn’t imagine how terrible that was. Just the thought made her feel upset, she really had had never bad happen to her. She had just left her family because she wanted something more and they didn’t treat their herd right, but they had always treated her fine. In fact, her parents and herd had treated her more than fine. The champagne mare didn’t even know how to act when bad things happened, like she didn’t know what to do now with the whole Doc thing. It was just overwhelming hurt for her at the moment she tried to forget about, though she was beginning to think that would only come with time. “I’m sorry about your family Caruso, but you have also showed me the same. I hope we can stick together, at least for a bit longer. If you’re okay with that…” She said hesitantly, looking up at him quickly to see his reaction.
Then Caruso was stepping infront of her though, and she was sure they were close to the place he had been talking about. The safe haven. She followed after him, a bit surprised that they would be entering a cave to get to this place. The sound of their hooves on the rock was a bit loud and overbearing for her, she didn’t like it and it made her feel spooked. She continued on though, looking around in wonder at the gorgeous place it opened up to. She glanced around in slight amazement, a smile on her velvet lips.
“How…did you find a place like this? It’s absolutely gorgeous, I love it…” She murmured softly, only briefly hearing the words ‘our home’ right before it. She knew what he meant by it, but those words just stuck with her. She never thought she would be settling down to a place with another loner, even if it was just long enough to rest and heal after their traumatic event. words: 711 tagged: Caruso notes: Paradise.

Take my heart
and carry it away Caruso now felt like he could respond back to all Bri had said during the travels as he slowly walked across the previously undisturbed snow in the small meadow. Everything Bri had said to him replayed over in his mind as he thought of a nice response to come up with back to her. Soon enough he turned to her, walked to her side and let his belly rub against hers as he stood there. Even though he was supposed to be a big strong stag, somehow the closeness he felt to Bri earlier was a nice feeling and he wanted to recreate that as he spoke. His voice was slow and calm with even a slight bit of charming hint to it almost, but he really wasn't trying to be anything but sweet to the mare. "The pain is really nothing. It really only stings the moment it happens, after that its just sore. So as long as you don't go biting my flesh too, I'll live." He spoke with a small laugh at the end before adding more words to his small speech. "But really, it was nothing. I was only doing my duty as a stallion. Its not a mares job to fight if there is a perfectly capable stag around to do the job. And as far as my family goes, thank you, but it was a long time ago. I remember it like it was yesterday but it doesn't bother me much at all anymore, its just something in my past. Sometimes I like to wonder what become of my half brother though. It was a shame that he grew up to take on his fathers footsteps. Messed him up real good in the head. But thats besides the point." He stopped to smile sweetly and looked around them for a moment before taking a deep breath of fresh winter air and finishing up his sentence. "This place. Well, I took refuge here actually when I was a young colt. Not too long after I lost my parents actually. Its not a great permanent home because it doesn't have a huge source of water, but it works for escaping predators." Caruso finished as he took another deep breath while his side rubbed against the mare again. He was searching for the scent of Doc but kept coming up short, though that was always a good thing. The less Doc the both of them saw, the better. Though the pain in his side was starting to throb along with his head. Caruso decided it would be best if they both tried to get some sleep now. He nuzzled Bri's neck softly and spoke before his eyes began to flutter shut, feeling a sudden wave of exhaustion come over his body. "Sleep now Bri. Our strength will only regenerate if we are able to relax and get some shut eye in. I'll be standing here next to you all night. At even the smallest sound, I'll awake." And with that, the stallion already started to get really drowsy. He quickly allowed his eyelids to grow heavy before drifting off.

If you couldn't be loved the next best thing was to be let alone. Brigid’s brown orbs scanned the same space they were in, taking in everything as she waited for Caruso to speak. She loved this place, it was so cute and secluded. She glanced down, watching as he left hoof marks in the undisturbed snow. She did like the snow when it was like that, freshly laid and all fluffy and white and not messed with. That was when it was truly beautiful. The mare felt his belly rub against hers, and once more she welcomed the touch by him. It reassured her that he was close and wouldn’t let anything happen to her. Her ears perked up as she heard him speaking, turning her head back so that she could listen to what he had to say.
The champagne mare laughed softly at his joke about her biting him, a small smile taking its place as he continued. She didn’t fully agree that it was any stallion’s right to stand up for the mares. Well she did, but at the same time she knew there was a large number that would not. They would not risk themselves for a little mare that they didn’t even know. He was probably just one of a very small group of stallions. She didn’t say anything about it though, just nodded. “Thank you though, it still means a great deal to me what you did,” She said softly, not bringing his family back up because she didn’t know what to say this time.
The mare continued to listen as he talked about this place, it would make sense that he would come back here for refuge. He already knew it would help, and it would be very hard to find this little paradise inside without getting lost in the caves. She knew that she would have never been able to find it. “Well I love it here, it’s very beautiful. And it actually does make me feel safe,” She murmured softly, but most of her feeling safe was having Caruso by her side. Not that she would ever speak those words out loud to him, that would be crossing a boundary.
When she felt him nuzzle her neck she looked back over at him, seeing that he was getting tired. She realized then that she was so very exhausted, it had been a long day in the least. And he was probably soar, he needed more rest than she did. Sleep could not heal what had happened to her, only time could do that one. By the time he was done talking he seemed to already be asleep, so Brigid did not say anything back. She just let him sleep, he had earned that. Her lids dropped and darkness overcame her, but she did not sleep. For the longest time she could not fall asleep, and when she finally did it was not a sound sleep at all.
All night her dreams were plagued with visions of Doc and his malicious face. It haunted her and he followed her everywhere, taunting and teasing her. It seemed like every time she tried to escape his cold, evil look he would just be at the next corner. In her dream she found herself running from him, trying to outrun him once more and escape his vicious plans. Everything replayed over again, the mare waking up with a small, uncontrolled gasp of panic as she hurriedly looked around. No one except for her and Caruso, Doc was nowhere in sight. She took a deep breathe, exhaling slowly as she tried to make herself relax. It was just a bad dream, that was all it was.

Andromeda decided to run when the mare told her to. She wanted to help, she really did, but the champagne femme, whose name she came to find was Bri, didn’t want it; and Andro was more or less a coward. The large gray mare looked at her fellow feminine with pleading eyes before moving her eyes downward.
The mare turned away and ran, trying not to listen to the commotion behind her. She galloped from the other loners around her. When she stopped, not even a mile away, she began to break, tears streaming hot down her steel-colored cheeks.
Andromeda, you coward, She thought. You could’ve helped her. The mare let out a gasp of air when she heard the evil voice of the buckskin stag come from behind.
“I’ll save you for next time, sweety!”
Andromeda slowly glanced behind her, and what she saw made a shudder run through her entire body. The evil stallion mounted the helpless Bri, who stopped cold and didn’t do a thing. Andro longed to help, but her fear took over and she bolted away.
Andromeda didn’t stop running for a very long time. She ran until she was in a meadow with a few trees in the center and snow all around. The furry mare dropped to the ground as soon as she reached it; she was safe here. She laid down her head in the snow, ignoring the cold snow that gathered on her chin.
The sobs heaved through her as she lay in the snowy meadow. She couldn’t have protected that mare, even if she tried. She was weak; she was nothing like her father. She was a pathetic excuse for a horse.
OOC: Sorry this is terrible. Trying to catch up! :\

Take my heart
and carry it away Caru had a rather peaceful sleep that night, aside from everything that had happened during the day of course, at least his sleep was, enjoyable. The stag woke up to a light dusting of snow across his light colored pelt. Shaking himself off he glanced over to Bri who seemed to be still sleeping, happy for that at least he walked off. Not far from Bri was a nice area that consisted of some winter type berries that were harmless and rather tasty even in the snowy months. They were purple in color and Caruso had decided they would be the perfect snack for he and Bri, something he could have waiting for her when she awoke. Quietly, the perlino grabbed some of the berry branches in his mouth and snapped them off as softly as he could to keep from waking his new found traveling partner. He still felt horrible inside for not being able to totally protect her. Doc had gotten to her, and done all of his business before he had been able to make it to her. For that, he felt almost like a failure. Caruso, though a quiet equine, liked to express himself though actions. He was a very chilverious stag and always felt like he would love to make a mare feel like they were his entire world, to treat them with the love and respect that they so deserved. Even though he wasn't sure what Bri would ever even be to him, he at least wanted to give her those same respects he so deeply believed in. Caruso's mind suddenly began to run a bit into overdrive. What was Bri to him? What would she ever become? Sure, he had saved her, but would they eventually split paths and go different ways or would they bond and end up traveling together? Maybe even more then just traveling partners? Shaking his head, the perlino let it all slide off his mind before dipping his head to pick up all the berries he collected for Bri and himself. He gather them in his mouth and slowly lifted his head while stepping off in the direction of Bri. For now he figured he would drop them at her feet and wait patiently for her to wake before he nibbled on some with her. Of course, just one of the perks of being a loner, meeting new equines was always interesting. Every equine was different, so every meeting was also different. Deep down, Caru was happy to have ran into Bri, she gave him some company that he actually didn't quite mind, but on the latter, he was unhappy to have ever met Doc. A meeting like that would never be forgotten and was now scarred into both of these equines minds. Quickly he was right back to Bri's side. The stag dipped his head down and placed the berries at her feet but while he lifted his head he could hear some low muffled sounds coming from her maw. Caruso was concerned that she would have some horrible dreams after what happened, but he had only hoped that she would be able to get through them without too much discomfort. The perlino didn't quite know what he could really do for her anyway, he hadn't exactly many skills in the female department, let alone when they had problems they were dealing with. A small sigh slipped from his lips as he glanced to the mare. He wondered whether he should wake her or not, but in the end, decided he probably should. If she was having nightmares it was probably only best to wake her and release her from the pain. Caruso tipped his nose out and reached for the mares shoulder. Gently, he nuzzled her soft fuzzy pelt and took a step closer to her to when she did wake she would see him and hopefully come out of her nightmare to quickly relax. Softly and warmly the stag let words slip from his velvet maw. "Bri, its just me, Caruso. Time to wake up now, its morning. I'm here for you." He wasn't quite sure what to say, so those were the first words to slip out of his maw. Cheesy, but the best he could come up with. He only hoped he could comfort her or make her feel more safe once she was awake.
