With wide, stretching strides, Taissa prances ahead of her taller friend, flicking her toes in a gleeful trot and swatting her tail about behind her with easy excitement. Behind her, Maxim lopes a slow canter to keep her pace, smiling fondly as she exudes pure happiness. It's no secret that the arctic mare enjoys winter like no other, setting a buzzing in her bones and running her blood quick in pace. Though there isn't any snow on the ground or otherwise falling, the mere thought of impending winter weather has Taissa preening.
"You know what I love about winter?" she asks Maxim dreamily as she slows to a walk, an airiness to her purposefully light tone. The stallion just sighs and halts moving, taking to surveying the land while his friend rambles. "Everything. Absolutely everything, Maxim," she tells him decidedly, exuding an air of confidence.
"Even though you can't hardly find food? And blizzards, you like them too?" Maxim bickers playfully back at her, smiling faintly at his friend's affronted look. Taissa scoffs at him, feigning offense.
"There's a reason I let myself put on this much weight, Maxim, and it's not because I enjoy weighing two tons,"she banters, smiling even as she tries to remain stoic. She's right though, the both of them are slightly heavier than the average horse, partially due to the tendency of their breed, otherwise because winter can be a cruel time to look for food. And more weight means more warmth, so there's no worrying over their figures.
The pair approaches a stony mountain path divided by two tall mounts. As usual, Taissa takes to leading and struts down the way with her usual tenacity. Maxim is struck immediately by the beauty of a series of waterfalls, flowing slightly slower in this season. He smiles tentatively as they walk, watching passively as the streams lead them into the valley land. This new territory is just as lovely, if not more so, than the last the pair visited, though it's not as if Taissa is paying much attention.
The mare is clearly in her own world, breathing in the slightly chillier air with uninhibited excitement. Their coats have long been thick, as they usually are, and the Yakutian horses are more than ready for the promise of cold, though one more than the other.
Maxim wonders absently if someone's already claimed these lands. He himself has no desire to do so, and he knows Taissa to be a big-mouthed, bossy leader who couldn't hold a herd if her life depended on it. He just thinks it would be a shame to let the hollow go to waste.

Ryder was incredibly happy with how things were going, he had just claimed these lands and already had two beautiful mares in his herd. By the way it was going, he was sure that he would have even more soon. Horses were looking for a home before winter started, and he was glad that his sometimes overbearing side was not pushing horses away from joining. Of course he had almost scared away Asuna, but for now it seemed she was staying and that was good. Charity seemed quite confident and sure of herself, but he no longer joked like he had with Asuna. He didn’t want to make yet another mistake. He also didn’t show Charity his secret cave, not now at least. The memory of it was slightly tainted now. The large draft was watching over his two members from his cave when movement from the entrance caught his eye. He moved his large head, brown eyes landing on that of two…ponies? They were incredibly small, compared to him at least, and…quite fuzzy. He smiled, he liked them by their looks already and this meant even more new members. Hopefully. With a happy grin on his face the large stallion made his way from where he was looking to trot over towards the pair, slowing to a walk and then stopping once he was closer to the two. Ryder watched them with amusement, a friendly smile on his face so they wouldn’t be scared of him. “Well hello! I am so glad you two have stumbled upon my valley. My name is Ryder, and I am the lead stallion of these lands. May I ask your names?” The stallion asked in a curious voice, watching them carefully. He quite enjoyed the pair, they looked like they would be fun to have around. Maybe they could break the tension between Charity and Asuna if any happened to come up. “Are you two looking for a place to stay for a while? Or a home? I am looking for members to grow my herd, I would love to have you guys join if you guys are looking to stay somewhere,” The stallion proposed to the two, wondering if the two would agree to stay or if they would just want to pass on by and stay for a short time. template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0

As the pair moved further on, new and unfamiliar scents began filling their nostrils. Maxim snorted quietly at the smells, indicating at least one mare and stallion, if not more of the former. The small stallion sighed in relief, hoping that they could at least rest here, if the place was already claimed. Perhaps even a longer term agreement would be available, Max thought with a small smile. They'd been walking for quite a while after all.
Beside him, Taissa snorted, loud and long, as she too realized that they had company. Her ears pricked forward in curiosity, automatically stepping towards the scents to investigate. It wasn't long before a tall stallion revealed himself, looming over their heads by a substantial portion. It was nothing they weren't used to, but Maxim still felt slightly uncomfortable at first.
Taissa however, ever his opposite, grinned slyly at the new stallion, as if she knew something he didn't. She was not one to be silent and respectful, he knew, but she could be vaguely charming if she put her mind to it.
"Hello then, Ryder," she said with a light lilt in cadence, shaking out her thick hair with a jolt of her small frame. She swatted her tail about aimlessly before letting it settle behind her, swaying in content. "I'm Taissa, and this is my... friend, Maxim," she concluded, leaving more to the imagination than was really necessary.
Maxim frowned slightly, embarrassed as ever by his friend's tactics. "It's nice to meet you," he adds, good-naturedly with a pleasant smile. "We've been walking a while to look for a herd, but the last lands we visited were strangely empty," he comments, recalling the place in vague memory.
"We'd love to stay!" Taissa suddenly announced, grinning a bit manically. "Maxim has been complaining about the travel for quite some time now, it'd be nice to settle down somewhere." Maxim sighs at his friend, wondering why he subjected himself to her banter at all. He mentions nothing of the fact that Taissa was the complainer of the two of them.
"If it wouldn't be too much of a bother," Maxim adds quietly, taking a look around the lands. He could already see Taissa was itching to gallop about the place when the snow would fall. He too was looking forward to the winter, if only because then his friend might be less inclined to pester him about it.
