The chesnut mare travelled forward with grace, hooves looking like they barely touched the ground as she trotted towards her unknown destination. She really wasn’t sure where she was going, but she was sure she would find it sooner or later. She just knew she was looking for a herd to join for the winter, maybe even stay for a while if she could find the right one. She was six years old, it was time to stop travelling and time to start settling down. Maybe she could find a mate and start a family, if only.
Though Reagan always wanted a family, and still wanted one, she could just never find the right stallion. It probably didn’t help at all that she never settled down and was constantly running around, but a mare could dream. She was beginning to think that joining a herd could finally be what she needed though, and then she could find just the right stallion to start a family with. There probably weren’t a lot of stallions that wanted to join a herd if they weren’t the leader, but she was sure she could find someone. She was keeping her hopes up at least.
With a flick of her tail the mare cantered forward, her mane whipping back as she raced forward with complete joy. Though she was a neutral horse, she was always happy and positive. She simply…just didn’t take sides. She liked all horses though, and believed everyone should be given a chance. Everyone had a bit of good in them after, at least that was what she believed. It wasn’t until she smelt other equines that she started to slow down, there were multiple equines so she was hoping it would be a herd.
With confidence the mare travelled towards the smell, slowing down as she reached the other horses. There were two stallions, a colt, and a mare and they seemed to all be talking. Maybe she finally had found a herd, one she could join and stay with. “Um hello…my name is Reagan. Is this someone’s land that I have stumbled across?” She asked curiously, looking between them all. She really hoped they were friendly, though they all looked friendly. The colt looked like he was searching for something else as he looked up at her, and she was slightly confused.

Pascal & Tesla
Pausing in their climb, Tesla pulls her ears forward curiously at the strong, full scent of another equine in their midst. Pascal nearly plows over her in his haste, having missed the indication completely. He falters slightly from the sudden stop, sending his mate a heat-less glare, mostly embarrassed on his own part. The rosey grey mare cranes her head to get a better look, and sure enough just below them stands an unfamiliar mare. Pascal follows her gaze, eyes finding the visitor finally as his nostrils flare at the sudden scent. He snorts in surprise, dragging in a hoarse breath.
The mare is beautifully flashy, the both of them note, with a stunning coat of red and patterned rabicano markings lined up her sides. Tesla herself admires the dip of the mare's face, a sign of Arabian heritage, perhaps. Pascal, though, is nearly thrilled with the mare's presence. While he was grateful for the presence of Dirk and Creon, adding a mare to the mix would no doubt be beneficial. After all, he didn't want to be known as the lead of an all-stallions herd, the thought making him shiver in discomfort, mostly on Tesla's behalf. Though the taller mare hardly minded at all, and smiled easily as the mare spoke, thinking quietly that Creon might have another, younger it seemed, horse to play with, even if the mare was years older than the colt.
"Hello, miss Reagan," the mare greets in return, turning carefully to face the mare fully. Pascal pulled a confident smirk, a complete opposite from his mate's easy going attitude.
"I'm Pascal, the lead here, and this is Tess, my lovely mare," the stallion acknowledges, missing the way his mate flinches at the nickname and possessive undertone. She grits her teeth together in silence, face still holding her charmed expression. "Are you looking to stay a while or just passing through? We're just showing our friends, Dirk and Creon, around the lands and you're quite welcome to join us."
Tesla says nothing to this, but silently seethes as Pascal takes credit for her actions, as well as Dirk and Creon's. It was them who suggested the tour in the first place, but the charismatic look on the grey stallion's face reads otherwise.

Reagan watched the horse easily, a smile lighting up her features when she was greeted by the lead pair. They seemed friendly, the stallion talking more than the mare, and she figured this would be a nice place to stop and stay for a bit. Her brown eyes glanced back, briefly landing on the figures of a stallion and a colt behind the two. Was this the whole herd? At this point she didn't care, she was just happy to be around others! And possibly have a place to stay, that would be nice. Especially with spring around the corner, that would be even better. "I would love to stay for a while, I've been traveling by myself for quite some time and I'm ready to find a place to call home. Maybe this will be what I've been looking for all along," The mare spoke in an up beat and friendly manner, looking around where they were now. It was a beautiful place, she could definitely see herself living here. And starting a family once she found that perfect someone. Oh how she wanted a family, but she had to find the stallion first. "I would love to join your little tour, if I'm not intruding," She said easily as her brown eyes focused on the lead stallion. He seemed kind, and she didn't know what to take of the other two at the moment. She didn't want to go off of what little she knew about them, but she thought she could like this place. At least she hoped so because she was tired of travelling around.
Creon poked his head up once he heard an unfamiliar voice, his eyes landing on a chesnut mare. Another horse! He searched for a foal, maybe she would have a foal, but he searched and saw no. His smiled dropped a bit, it seemed he wouldn't have a friend anytime soon. He loved Dirk and Tesla was very nice, but he wanted someone he could play with and someone that was more his age. He was a young colt, he was tired of always being with the adults. And he didn't like being around Pascal, because he was just grumpy. "My name is Creon. And this is my dad Dirk. It's nice to meet you," Creon said easily, a smile on his face as he watched the mare easily. "Did you see anyone coming this way with any foals? I want someone to play with," The colt said boldly, because young horses didn't have a filter and Creon was no different than the rest of them. He someone had to show up sooner or later, someone that had a foal. Even a little baby would be better, as long as there was someone closer to his age then their age around him.
Reagan watched the colt easily as he talked, listening to what he said and hearing an...accent? It wasn't like something she had heard before, and she wondered where the little guy got it from. She smiled as he introduced his father to her, looking up at the two of them. "Well it's a pleasure to meet the both of you. I can't say I've seen any foals lately though, not any around here. But it's spring, and I'm sure some new mothers will be looking for a herd soon," She said easily, hoping the little colt wouldn't be so down about not having a friend. How Reagan wished she had a foal though, it would be exactly what she wanted. A family, a true meaning in life. Right now she just felt like she was wandering and had no real purpose. At this point in life she just wanted a foal at the very least, something that would give her life a little meaning. Growing up that was always what she wanted, a foal and to be a mother, but if she couldn't find a mate she didn't know how she would ever make that dream come true. Maybe she couldn't make it come true, maybe it wasn't meant to be. Was it wrong for her to want a foal so badly she didn't even care if she had a mate at this point? It wasn't traditional by any means, but it was what would make her happy.

Pascal grinned pleasantly at the mare's assent, tossing his head lightly in glee. Even if Reagan didn't intend to stay long, it was just one more equine to keep him and Tesla company in their empty lands. The lead stallion glanced back at Dirk, who hovered in his peripherals, with a frown. Pascal was glad for the growth of his herd, but he wasn't looking for a herd of purely stallions. And what with Creon, who would certainly grow up to be someone big, here as well, Pascal had been feeling slightly sullen. After all, he couldn't charm them into joining, that had been purely Tesla's doing.
The lead mare smiled, nodding reverently and looking towards Creon as he spoke to the newest mare. Tesla couldn't help but feel bad for him, a young colt with so many adults. It must be terribly tiresome. "Reagan is right," she mused, "Hopefully with the springtime flowers come new horses as well." Glancing across the valley, Tesla smiled at the thought of others joining their small herd.
Almost as if on cue, an unfamiliar scent wafted across her nostrils.
