I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade watched as Hael stood up and looked towards him, seeming to stare right at him as he talked. He enjoyed the attention from her again, but knew that he couldn't enjoy it for long. That was now Tilney's place in her life, not his. A feint smile however grew across his lips as he gazed back at her and into her icy blue eyes. He had grown close to her, and having her in the herd would be great, he just had to no learn to put his feelings elsewhere. Which was the whole reason why he started trying to have fun with Bones in the first place, not to make Hael jealous, but for him to get Hael off his mind. Now, it was time to let all these emotions and feelings come out as words. He had to explain his actions, among many other things that needed to be brought attention to. Starting off with the most important, to him anyways, Hael. The brute faced the trio before him and cleared his throat once again before speaking, the snow had stopped falling and only left almost a dusting across the ground as the sun started peaking from the clouds. It was a new day and a new start for all of them. His voice was clear and meaningful as he began his speech.
"Well everyone. I know some of you are confused, some are mad at me, or hurt by me. Now, I'd like to clear this all up, starting with you Hael." he paused, while tipping his nose out toward her and directing his gaze into her eyes once again. "I am sorry for how I spoke to you, it was uncalled for, but you have to see it from my point of view too. I was falling for you, almost enough to be called.." Pause again, as he swallowed and pushed up the courage to finish what he had been waiting to get off his chest. "..Love, for you...BUT the moment Tilney took your innocence, the whole world changed. We grew so close in the short time since we met, everything happened so quickly, but sometimes the best friendships are like that. Although All THREE of our worlds were thrown up in the air into a whirlwind, only to spit you back out carrying his foal, Thus leaving me looking in. I can't and I won't get between a stallion and his foal. I believe it is their duty to take care of their offspring, no matter how they are conceived I don't believe in any other coming between a foal and the bond between the real mother and father. I was angry, very angry when Tilney did this, all because of my feelings and because to me, he hurt you. I believe that is something you never force upon a mare, instead you ask poiltely, you become mates and enjoy life together. However, thats just not how the world wanted it to work for you and Tilney. Maybe it was the gods way of joining you and Tilney closer and suggesting that I was the wrong stallion for you. Though, no matter what reason I can't push myself to do something I believe so strongly in. I just can't come between you and him, you share something so unique and so precious in a little over 9 months time, please enjoy it and please try to understand my reasons.. I am sorry Hael. I would love for you to stay here in my herd as I'd love to meet the little one and watch over you as you progress, if you'd choose to stay of course. I am also sorry for ignoring you and spending some time with Bones. Nothing was her fault, I only came into the herdlands to make sure it was safe and ended up trying to have some fun with her to draw my attention off all the mixed emotions running through my head. I had no intentions of trying to make you jealous, or mad at me. For that, I am sorry." He finished with a smile and almost a twinkle in his eye, he ment every word he said, from loving her, to pretty much leaving her as no option of becoming mates now. He just couldn't drive himself between the unique bond she now had with Tilney, no matter how weirdly it all happened. Next, his attention and gaze turned to Tilney. He still had complete distrust and a horrible taste in his mouth for the stallion, but had to eat up his pride and feelings to just spit out what he wanted to say to the stag. He was trying to do the right thing, or at least what he thought was right. Finally, out poured his words to the stag. "Tilney. Well, what could I say. We met under pretty unfortunate circumstances and then you bred to the mare I was falling for... but like I just told Hael, I believe everything happens for a reason, and to me that reason is that you and Hael are ment to be. I hope you as well understand my actions and why I treated you like I did when we met. I obviously did not know the whole story but still, you drove a small dagger in my life, unknowingly of course. Though, I hope to get to know you better as a stallion, and I hope you prove to be one of my most trusted members, being of course, you accept my invitation into my herd. You are welcome, if you as well choose to stay. Please take care of Hael with every ounce of love an attention you can give her, she deserves it all. Shes a pretty amazing mare and has a heart as big as the sun, no doubt. Don't let her or I down, please." His voice was stern, yet sincere. He knew he had to let go of his feelings for Hael, and be more of an onlooker and guardian to her instead of a lover but he was ok with that, as long as Tilney took care of her needs and every wish. Slade hoped Tilney would really be the best stallion he could be towards Hael. Otherwise, Slade wouldn't give him a second chance at life. Though of course, only Slade knew that much.
Next, it was Bones turn for a speech. Poor Bones, Slade almost felt bad it might look like he used her to make Hael be jealous, but that was not the case, he really did just wan to escape his emotions and have some fun, but that also blew up in his face. Bones got thrown into a war of emotions that she wasn't even apart of and was now in this mess. All Slades fault. The stag turned, and now faced Bones, gazing into her eyes as well as he spoke from the heart like he had done with the others. "And Bones. I am sorry for bringing you into this mess. We all just returned from getting captured by the humans along with a array of other life changing events that had occured, as you probably got the jist of from my other speeches to Hael and Tilney. I did not mean to get you involved in all this, and for that I am truely sorry. I asked you to stay mostly because I just did want to get to know you. I had no intentions of making Hael jealous and I only wanted to have some fun with another equine to get all the emotions and feelings off my mind, to simply clear my head. I saw you, and saw my opening to be happy for but a moment. I also do truely have some information about the one your searching for, Fear?. After I have cleared all of this up I will be happy to tell you everything I know and you may leave if you'd like. However I'd also love to give you the option to stay. The herd may be a bit a mess, but I hope now we are picking up the pieces and starting a new bond together, to make us stronger and more understanding between us all. The option to stay is there, and the decision is completely up to you, if you'd like to brave the occasional craziness here of course!" Slade finished with a small chuckle as a smile started to grow upon his maw. He really hoped what he said hit home for everyone and that they understood how he saw it, from the lead stallion position and also the one who was falling for Hael before this all happened. He would always care for her from here on out, but knew he couldn't truely let himself love her. Slade switched the weight on his legs and then gazed over the while trio. It was surely a odd bunch of horses with different personalities but he really hoped it would all work out. He was acting on a whim letting Tilney join but knew it was the right thing to do and only hoped he really was a pure stallion at heart that really was forced to make a hard choice. For that, he was acting off solely from what he had heard and put together. Now, he could only hope that fireworks didn't erupt. He would entertain all questions and concerns they now had, however, and for this, he spoke up again, this time addressing them all as a group. "Now, you all may have at me. Speak freely as you'd like and I'll try to clear up anything that may need it. Thank you." He finished, now, let the emotions flow.

Bones shook her head as she watched Hael call the stallion over, and she could see it in her eyes. It was wrong to do such a thing, trying to get back at Slade and possibly hurting the stallion beside her. She did not know what that mare had went through though, so maybe she believed it was worth it. It really wasn’t her business though.
The brindle mare turned and left them to do whatever they pleased, but paused when she saw Slade approaching him. The stallion looked sad with a mix of other emotions, but he looked like he was determined to say something. As he should, he was the lead and it was his job to fix this mess. When he finally did speak, she listened closely to every word.
His speeches left her silent for a long moment, everything about his love for Hael and her breeding were quite the surprise. It did explain the mare’s harsh feelings towards Bones and her ever changing mood. If she had just been bred by some random stallion, she would be pretty upset as well.
It also explained the looks given to her by Tilney and Hael when she was with Slade, they probably assumed she thought she could just waltz in and tear up what was between Hael and Slade before. Like she was some mare who thought she could do whatever she wanted. Slade allowed them to think that when he got so friendly with her so fast and did not explain anything. He just allowed her to join this circus they were going through without warning her.
What was he thinking? She knew he was hurt and confused, but that did not mean he could keep her in the blind so others could lash out at her and think terrible things about her. She was not a bad mare, she just wanted to make friends and he seemed like a nice stallion, yet she had clearly crossed a line she hadn’t even known about.
Bones was lost in her own thoughts, all of them building as Slade addressed the two, but hearing her name snapped her out of it. What did this stallion have to say to her, how could he justify his using of her? She watched him silently as he spoke to her, keeping her face emotionless. She didn’t even know if she should trust him now, after all the hidden secrets he had before. She listened to all of it though, holding back to need to laugh when he asked her to stay in these herd lands. Was this stallion crazy? He couldn’t honestly think she would want to stay in this place after everything that just happened and the chaos to come when Hael’s baby was born. She did not have time for that, she had a brother to find.
For a moment she just stood there though, trying to sift through everything she had just heard and all the emotions that were coursing through her. She did not have it as bad as any of them of course, but she had also never planned to be pulled into such a mess. She thought she was just making an innocent friend. After she let her mind process all her feelings, she finally walked up towards Slade. “I just want my information about Fear, and then I will be leaving in the morning. I would leave right now, but it’s late and freezing and I would hate to hurt myself,” She murmured as she looked up at him. She took a deep breath before she decided to explain herself. “You seem like a very nice guy, don’t get me wrong, but what you did was…kind of an asshole move. You could have warned me or something, and even if you hadn’t done that, you had to realize what you did to Hael when she saw you with me. I understand you were trying to be happy, but she’s your herd member and she comes first. And the simple fact you thought you could just act friendly towards me to forget about Hael, did you ever think about how this would me feel? For all you know I could be some mare who looked far deeper into it than just innocent fun. Plus, to the others, it made me look like some terrible mare who thinks I can just walk in and cross whatever line and do whatever I want. Which is not who I am. But both of them now think terribly of me and I am not okay with that. Even if I didn’t know what was happening, I caused a great pain for Hael and I don’t even know her. I understand your heart was broken, but you for thinking for yourself and your pain, in that you caused a lot of hurt towards others. I don’t think I can deal with drama or what has all happened here, I just want to find my brother. So if I can please just have my information, I’ll be gone before anyone wakes up tomorrow and it will be like I was never even here,” She murmured quietly, more spilling out of her lips than she had intended too. He would probably be pissed at what she said, but she was not happy with him at all.

Seeing Sade wander down off the hill over to them, crossing over to the pinetree they rested under. Hael had quickly stood by the time Slade arrived, though Tilney stood as soon as he started talking. he was still weak, and sickly.
Slades words shoook him slightly. He didint think he was talking to Tilney at all. mybe he ws just trying to Retriee Haels love. Tilney was smart, and not to be fooled; from Slades display just before, he could now only be seen as cold, heartless and completely fickle. Either that, of he just had no idea of what to do with himself.
Tilney stood beside Hael and then shook his head as soon as the stag had finnished speaking. IF Hael would not speak, then he would. He would certainly be happy to. "By putting aside our difference, I take it you infer just Hael. She is who you are appealing to after all" The sneaky stag spoke softly "You called me filth and spat on me, for that I can easily forgive," said he, "But you were about to leave me to die until Hael arrived, and until now you neglect the both of us. For that, I don't think so" Tilney spoke, almost growling.
Tilney looked around at the cold forest surrounding him and then back to Slade "You also continue to accuse me of forcing myself on Hael, when that was never my intention. The humans forced me too!" Said the angered stallion. He hardly ever spoke to people like this. "And then you speak of being able to get out on your own, but you would of had to smash out me and Hael of the stalls in a difference scenario."
"You still speak at me as though I have done so much wrong and no good, and that the only reason I am to be in your herd is because I have to. Have you forgotten that Hael infact Asked me to breed to her? I was NEVER going to do as little as touch her. I would of rather tried killing those humans with that little strength I had. Slade, there was NO forcing." Tilney spoke angrily "Through this apparent 'appology', you have quite offended me in every way possible, and now you must have nothing further to say" The young stag spoke quickly, tossing his nose up. He would not be lowered to the beast Slade thought he was.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade watched as the brindle mare made his way towards him. He somehow knew she was going to say some distateful words even though all he tried to do was be nice and apologize which he rarely did, if ever anyway. Now it was time to see how apology went. He really hated it, made him look weak, and he never ever wanted to admit he was wrong. Slade would jump in a fight forever just to have the last word but today he poured out his heart and hoped everyone would be agreeable and understand. Though, as he listened to Bones words and watched her body lanugage, she was anything but understanding. Though, he still couldn't bring himself to admit any sort of defeat. The words she spoke cringed in his ears and wrapped around his brain as he thought of all the rotten things he could reply back with. This was probably bad, to enter into a bickering war with him, he could only hope Tilney and Hael would be more understanding before he was completely set off the deep end. However, he was first to respond back to Bones. He tried to hold his tongue but couldn't for long and quickly snapped back after she was finished. "Yea thats right, because I saw a mare who could potentially join my herd, and I wanted to walk right up to her and say- Oh excuse me miss, my herd is a bit corrupt right now, you might want to run for your life because you might not be able to handle all the drama. We were just captured by the humans, Hael was bred, Tilney is weak and sick, but yea! Come stay orr uhh, run for your life if you'd please? Oh yea, that sounds great. I can't say we don't have our issues, because we deffinately do. I just suppose everyone involved would be more understanding. Aparently though I am wrong. You may leave if you so choose, I have never been a stallion to make anyone stay against their will. As far as Fear goes, hes Envious. I only heard of his name and witnessed some of his crimes among my travels. I personally have never spoke to him or delt with him myself, but my friends have and they came back pretty mangled. My warning, its best to stay away from him, but hey its your life. If you'd like to go searching for a blood thirsty stallion, be my guest." He was a bit aggravated more then anything, he had let his guard down and dumped a sappy apology all over everyone, what he really felt. He rarely if EVER did that, and already Bones was snappy back. Though, he too saw where she was coming from and quickly tried to correct that in a softer and more sincere tone. "I do see however, where you are coming from, you have a right to be angry with me Bones. I should have at least gave you a heads up that things were a bit tense between us all, and I didn't. If you must leave, please be careful on your travels. There are stallions and mares out there too who will do anything for the taste of blood, or a good force breeding, just be careful and trust no one." He finished and looked into her eyes for a moment. She really was quite a beautiful mare, but he understood if she wanted to move on. I mean, who would want to join his disaster of a herd anyway? Suddenly, the tinge of Tilney's voice rang into his ears. A sudden thought popped into his head /Oh this will be good./ And he waited, as the stallion spoke. He was clearly angry and let it all rip at Slade, but that was ok because now a war was started and Slade would be the last to give up. He was a stag who always wanted the last word and was not going to take such rudeness from anyone, especially a stallion that was not a part of his herd, a stallion that bred the mare he liked, a stallion that seemed to keep thinking he had done nothing wrong, that he was innocent. Well he could think that all he liked, but to Slade, he was far from it. Suddenly, Slade's voice erupted as he stepped away from Bones and stood right in front of Tilney. He had something to say back, of course. His vocals rung as he spoke.
"You know what Tilney I have much more to say. It has taken every ounce of good will I could muster to even come down here and try to make sense of what you did. I tried to reason with you, I tried to talk to you kindly and start off on a better note, but you've left me no choice. Yes, I did fully intend to leave you there and yes, I spat on you, and I do not regret it one bit. I don't care how many times you tell me that Hael told you to do it. She knew the situation she was in and SHE made the sacrifice to get you both out of there, SHE was stronger then you, you only did the deed. Now that it is done, YOU have a foal on the way to the mare I LIKED. Though, I don't have to LIKE you... Say all you want, to me you are not as innocent as you make yourself out to be. No kidding the humans made you do it, I KILLED THEM for that reason, but mainly because they put Hael in that situation. And also, yes I am more appealing to Hael then anyone, because I don't fully believe that I signed up to deal with the stallion who bred one of my herd memebers out of the blue. Any other stallion would have killed you already so for that much, at least you are still here. Do what you want, stay here, or go where you please, I really don't care much beyond you doing the right thing in whatever makes Hael happy. I do believe we could end up working this out, but we are obviously both hard headed stallions and I forsee it taking quite a while. You've got a little over 9 months until YOUR foal arrives, so I suggest we get it worked out before then. I see and understand your side of the story, I awknowldge the fact that you didn't force yourself on Hael, but that still does not make me write it off and agree with what you did. I don't agree with it and probably never will, but its over now too late for anything to change so no point in even going back to that moment anymore. We've both said our sides and that's where it will end." Slade stopped he really didn't have much more to say. If Tilney said anything snappy back he wouldn't be able to hold his tongue, that was just him. Once you entered a fight with him he wasn't going to back down. He had said all he wanted to say for now and could only imagine what Tilney was going to snap back with. Whatever it was, he'd be ready. Slade's mind snapped back to when Tilney spoke about if the humans didn't take Hael and him out of the stalls then Slade would have had to smash them all out. That wasn't how he saw it. Tilney didn't persuade the humans to come. They did that on their own, so no credit was to be given to Tilney for the escape. In fact, if the humans had drug Slade out there, things would have gone a much different way. Though the past was the past and Slade just let what Tilney said slide. He didn't think that was anything worth arguing over anymore. Point was, they all made it out. Slade began to turn away from Tilney as his stones hit the ground and he walked back to the place he was standing when he started his little speech. The only one he had not yet heard from was Hael, and he was most interested in what she had to say, or how she reacted to what he did say. Patiently, he waited two out of three voices heard, he could only hope that Hael wasn't angry with him too. She still did mean alot to him but Tilney just really had a good way of pushing Slade's buttons. Standing there he waited, there was a moment of silence but he knew it wouldn't last long. Bones and Tilney would probably snap back at him rather shortly anyway.

Take me to the stars. ------------------- Don't ever let me go. -------------------
'I was falling for you, almost enough to be called..'
'..Love,'
Hael froze at those words, utterly shocked and surprised. It seemed that every word he spoke after that was blurred and rushed to her. She couldn't barely fathom the fact that Slade just told her he loved her. A pang of guilt escaped out of her frozen emotions, feeling horrible for treating Slade that way, and going against his words.
Hael turned her head back at Slade, still speaking to her. She watched him intently, as if in slow motion, eyeing down his body and drifting off to thoughts at his velvety voice.
"He loves me.."
Those three words echoed in her head over and over again, as if she didn't even believe herself that Slade would say such a thing. She didn't even realize that the mare named 'Bones' and Tilney had come up to argue with Slade, not even hearing the words they spoke, but lost in her own thoughts and mind.
"What if I'm not pregnant?"
She blurted out loudly, unaware that Slade had walked back to the place he was before he started his speech. She stood to face him, expression still dull but surprise and satisfaction written secretly behind.
"Slade. I know you're hurt; I can see it in your eyes and the way you speak. And I know it's all of my fault. If I had just let you touch me when we met, none of this would have happened."
She tipped her pink nose down under his, softly caressing the soft underbelly of his maw, just like the way he did when they had first met. A genuine smile pulled at her lips in return, her icy eyes gazing into his. It was as if some motherly maternal instincts had kicked in, only to try and make him feel better. Strange.
"Listen to me, and I am speaking the honest truth. The only reason why I told Tilney to... uhm.. Do it.. Was because I knew what would have happened if he didn't. I was born there Slade. I grew up there with my mother until I followed her escape and wandered until I met you. I watched helpless mares get force bred, and if the stallion refused, the humans would beat him to a pulp. When I was young I thought it was just business as usual.. But now? It's just cruel. Tilney was already weak. Do not blame him for what he did. He followed my directions, and we got out eventually."
Hael paused, taking a needed breath of air, and walked until she was side by side with Slade, trying so hard to hide the pained expressions on her face as she spoke.
"You said... Earlier you said that.. That you loved me."
She spoke in a hush whisper, trying to avoid eye contact of any sort because of her blush and embarrassment.
"Did you mean it?"

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade just couldn't seem to get Hael off his mind. Though, he knew he had to. It just wasn't right, it was unfair to her and the foal to come between anything like that and he wasn't going to do it. He couldn't. Besides, unless a foal was his, he wasn't really interested in raising it, thats just how he was. Suddenly, something had broke the silence, it was the voice of Hael, ringing though his listening devices. He half smiled at her question but had to keep his emotions in check. He hadn't really thought of that possibility. I mean, his previous mate, Kinzie had a lot of trouble getting pregnant and they never ended up having a foal before it broke off. So maybe, just maybe something similar could have happened to Hael? The question bounced around in his head for a moment as he tried to think how to answer correctly. Something wise had to be said here so Hael didn't get her hope up.. or down for the matter. Slade still wasn't sure if she would be happy to be pregnant and carrying Tilneys foal, or upset for not taking and not being pregnant. Hesitantly, he finally spoke. "Well Hael, I guess we could cross that bridge when we come to it. IF we come to it." with emphasis on IF...
The thought however he really couldn't shake out of his head, what if she wasn't? Would they then be able to get to know each other better? Would they then be able to grow closer and really have some good conversations? All questions he really couldn't answer unless they knew if she was really pregnant or not. He tried to shake everything from his brain as he listened to Haels next words. He was hurt, a little anyway. He had let himself grow too close to Hael far to quickly and he was now paying for it. But he didn't believe it was her fault. It was his, he shouldn't have touched her in the first place. He should have known she was far too inexperienced in the stallion category to handle even the smallest brush up against a stallion... Though, he didn't answer that statement back, instead he just looked at her dully and kept his ears open as her voice was carried into them as she spoke about her experiences with the humans. He knew she was knowledgeable about the fact of what the humans did, but he didn't want to believe that she really truely WANTED all of it to happen. In his brain he still wanted to believe there could have been another way around everything that happened. He wanted to believe that it was all just a dream. Though it did happen and now it was time to face the music. He still didn't care how many times Hael and Tilney told him it was Hael's idea. Even if it was, she was still the one who made the ultimate sacrifice, she was the one who may be burdened with a foal that she might not want, because she had a heart of gold and wanted to save everyone involve. Because of her decision, she did just that. Slade was in debt to her for that, to have to make such a horrible decision and still live on with it. Slade held a blank expression as Hael caressed his jaw like he had done to her. Her touch however made him feel warm and almost fuzzy inside but he kept his feelings bottled up inside. Though, his maw was still sealed with a very blank expression planted across his face. He did not want to show too much, expose what he felt. He didn't need a bunch more emotions rolling around and making everything more confusing and crazy then it already was.
And then, Hael said it. She came to stand beside him where he couldn't see her face, couldn't read her emotions as she spoke, and she came right out with it. 'You said earlier that you loved me.' And then there was a small pause before she lowered her tone of voice. ' Did you mean it?' she whispered.
These words hit Slade like a ton of bricks. He had really hoped Hael would kind of forget that part. Slade was now sort of regretting even saying it. He didn't want Hael to get all hung up on it because Slade was not going to budge on where he stood in this matter. Though, apparently it was really the only thing that did grasp her minds attention. Did she miss Bones and Tilney just tearing him apart because of all the wrong things they thought he did? Apparently so. He sighed quietly and tried to decide how to answer her back without hurting her even more, or disappointing her, or giving her any sort of false hope. The only thing he could think to say came flowing out of his mouth in a mess of jibberish as his emotions began to take hold. "I can't anymore Hael. I just can't..." Which, if you read into him more, you could tell he was fighting a loosing battle, but had made up his mind. He had loved Hael, or was at least beginning to. The mare was so innocent and rather quiet, it intrigued him as Hael was pretty much the opposite of him. She had a heart larger then the sun and never believed in herself. She didn't know she was pretty and didn't flaunt her stuff. She always seemed to treat him right and was good company. Slade really enjoyed her but his heart had to move else where now. Hael's heart had to be occupied by someone else and Slade deep down knew he just wasn't the stag for her. She needed someone more loving and kind to take care of her.. Slade however had a temper that could snap at any second and he didn't want Hael to ever have to experience that. His head still held high as he tried to keep in his pride. Slade still had Bones and Tilney angry with him and hadn't yet finished his quarrel with Tilney, he was sure of it. Though even with all the sadness between him and Hael she made him feel better in a way too. For that, he was thankful.

[[ OOC: I'm going to enter my new charrie Blackbird in this post now, if that is okay! ]]Tilney watched Slade closely. "Obviously we cannot come to angreement. I do not care if we never do" Tilney murmured coldly "I however am not the one ammongst the four of us whom everyone is angered with right now" Tilney said and then, his nose so close to Slades, they might as well be touching. "Please excuse me, I dislike arguements, t's a waste of time. Plus, I need some water" Tilney said to the brute with a sly smile, walking between him and Hael.
He wandered down to the nearby river and dipped his muzzle into the cool aqua and took large sips once more. He ws so relieved to have found this water. He was also releived that Hael had come and saved him. He wondered what made Slade so merciless, and what he was doing leading a pure herd with a temperament such as his.
Tilney wondered what quarrel this stranger had with him. Her names was Bones, he thought. Apart from the fact that he had run off with her and made Hael upset. He wondered what had been going through Slades head at the time. Not only had he run off with the stranger, but he had also abandoned Hael - She was possibly in foal, She was weak and shaken from the experience of the previous day, and just as vulnerable as the weakened Tilney, as sick as he was.
He then thought about the herd be belonged to, far far away, and wondered how they would be coping. The loss of their lead mare would of been such a great affliction, and he wondered what they would of done if they knew the truth about her death.
He looked over to the trio standing togeather among the pines and exhaled. should he stay or should he go? IT was then in his pondering that he heard footsteps, and rustling of branches. Such a familiar scent caught his nares, and he frowned, turning his head to look for the of the familiar equine the scent and noises belonged to.

Clambering up onto the top of the final boulder; that was protecting the precious river water in the pure herdlands, young Blackbird took a view at the early morning lands she was just found. For days she had been walking along the endless rocky riverside, and now she had reached some kind of valley. There would be equines here for certain; it was the most lucious looking plain she had ever seen, and it stretched for miles and miles. So far, She could not see its boundaries.
stepping slowly off of the waterfalls rocks, she traces the edge of the cliff, slowly making a decent. hitting a generous treeline, she stepped off the last rock, and round herself in a green, but sleety forest. the first snowfall had come only last night.
Stepping slowly through the snowy grass, she took cautious to avoid trees; she was carrying two precious foals in her swollen stomach, and she had got stuck between two trees twice now in her travels because she was not able to fit. Her rib cage looked like it could give at any minute. As she stumbled through the frontier, she caught the scent of not one, not two, not three, but four equines.
Her pace quickened, until she was as fast as her body would allow. she was only a few weeks off foaling an it made it difficult to move much faster then a walk. She paced through the trees and bashed through the bushes. Soon she had quickly stumbled upon a black pain stallion, a feathered cremello mare, and a brindle mare. She looked at them all closely, not the slightest bit embarrased at hersudden entry. she was nothing but relieved to had finally found not just one equine, but three!
"Hello!" The young mare squeeked, looking over all three of them with nothing but the most friendly, and kind eyes. "Oh my gosh, What a relief it is to have found you guys! I have been travelling for quite a few weeks, looking for... well, actualy I've been looking for a herd! mine kind of... demolished" She spoke with a giggly murmur "Obviously i'm not really in a state to be travelling though" she chuckled and looked around to her flanks which contained two foals, waiting to enter the world.

Take me to the stars. ------------------- Don't ever let me go. -------------------
Hael stood beside Slade, impatiently waiting for him to answer her. Her cream tail flicked side to side in anticipation. She knew it was a hard question to ask, and even harder to answer, and the fact that Slade came out and said it right away in his speech made it even more important for Hael to confirm. Her auds perked up at his voice, hoping that she would get the answer she was looking for.
I can't anymore Hael. I just can't...'
The words struck her brain like a lightning bolt. So he did, indeed love her, but he couldn't anymore. His words upset Hael and made her frustrated. They had been through so much together, and she whole- heartedly wanted to love Slade with everything she had within her. But she knew that with everything that had happened, it wouldn't be possible, and it wouldn't be right for Hael to even strive for his love. She was possibly carrying Tilney's foal, and even though she told him to do it, she hated the outcome of everything they went through. She just wished everything would change and she wouldn't have messed up and caused all this mess. Maybe then, Slade would want to love her.
"I understand."
Those two words were the only ones able to escape her dry, lips. Coming out in a hush whisper, she could barely even manage to speak them. She knew she couldn't do this to Slade. He believed in so much, she didn't want him to go against his values for her; She knew she couldn't. And no matter Hael could possibly try to get Slade to love him, she knew that it just wouldn't work. She wondered about Tilney and what he would do. She told him that he didn't have to stay and take care of her, but could she really take care of herself? She never thought about being Tilney as the thought never seemed to cross her mind. She barely knew anything about him besides his name really, and yet she could be carrying his foal.
Scrambled in her thoughts, she didn't even realize the black mare that had made her way up to her and the others.
"Great, another mare.."
Hael thought to herself but quickly pushed the thought aside, knowing that she couldn't think like that anymore. Her icy eyes briefed the strange mare, eyeing her up and down but stopping to stare at her swollen belly.
"Is that what I'm going to look like? Doesn't look comfortable at all.."
She thought to herself as she stepped forward to greet the mare. Hael knew she had to be better with other mares, so she forced a smile and started to speak.
"Hello! You must be exhausted! I'm sure there will be a place for you here. You look like you're about to pop! What's your name?"
She glanced at Slade with a worried expression. Now seeing this extremely pregnant mare in front of her, she was terrified of becoming that. She felt too young, and the thought of giving birth freaked her out. She wouldn't even know what to do if she became pregnant. She took a quick glance at Tilney with the same expression, but quickly pushed it aside and turned to the mare once again.
"You must be starving. Let me go see if I can find you an apple of some sort."
She rushed off by herself, consumed in her own thoughts while visioning herself with as big of a belly as the other mare. She sighed, dropping her head by the forest in search of some fresh apples, if there were any still left in the snow.

Bones knew that Slade was going to be furious with her back, as he should. She should not have jumped down his throat when he had tried to apologize and make things right. She actually had it pretty lucky, she was not the beaten stallion with a foal on the way or the young mare who was possibly pregnant. Putting that all aside though, she was still mad because she had a chance to join a herd, and it seemed that two of the three already hated her before they even knew her. All because of Slade and his selfish ways.
The brindle war mare was more than expecting his anger retort to her rant, and it didn’t bother her. He could have said something when they first met, or focused a little more on addressing the others than having fun and escaping his sadness. She wasn’t really angry until he mentioned her brother, and how he was supposed to be some envious stallion that hurt others. He must be saying these things to make her scared and stay, the terrible things he said must be lied. Was this stallion really this selfish? She couldn’t believe him.
“You never had to explain it like that, but it wouldn’t have been hard to simply introduce yourself and then deal with your herd member’s problem. Like a quick ‘Hey hello, my herd is going through a problem I need to talk to them about real quick and then I’ll show you around.’ Something really simple that wouldn’t have the other’s hate me before I’ve even had time to introduce myself. But no, you couldn’t do that because you were upset and wanted to forget about all your problems. I guess that didn’t get you anywhere, did it? Nope, it just got them all mad at you and them thinking I’m terrible as well. And you are wrong about my brother, you must be. My mother would never give birth to something so evil and vial enough to hurt others. You clearly have the wrong stallion or you’re making something up to scare me into staying. The last thing I need from you right now is orders, because obviously your orders and leading haven’t gotten you anything but angry herd members and a huge mess. I’ve been travelling by myself for long enough, I know what I’m doing, so just leave your advice to someone who actually needs it,” Bones snapped, all her anger and disappointment spilling out to him because of the news she heard about Fear.
With her final words, she turned away from the black and white stallion and trotted off. She knew he probably had more he wanted to say, she knew she more than likely made him even angrier than he already was. Bones was hurt though, and in her pain she lashed out at the only one she could lash out at. It didn’t matter if he hated her now or not, because she was leaving and she was not returning. She needed to put this little dark stain in her past, and move on. She needed to find the truth about her brother.
As she went away she heard the other’s talk, and heard the other mare come into the herd lands. She paid no attention to them though, it really did not matter what she did. She would be gone in the morning and they would all soon forget about her. The new black mare was heavily pregnant, it was obvious. Someone like her and Hael needed this herd more than someone like her. The brindle mare believed she was better off alone anyway, where she would not have to deal with all this drama and anger and emotions.
Finally trotting off as far she could, Bones laid down and tried to sleep. The ground was cold and hard though, and she was forced to curl up and try and conserve as much body heat as possible. This was when she hated the winter, when she had to sleep on frozen ground and freeze her butt off. Even if she could manage to fall asleep in the cold, her whirling thoughts were not allowing her to catch any sleep at all. The whole conversation between her and Slade was really starting to bother her the longer she laid down. Maybe she had been a little harsh, she should apologize. She shook such crazy thoughts off though, she was leaving in the morning so it didn’t matter.

How high can you fly, with broken wings? She was surrounded with mystique, a wonderful beauty all alone in the world it seemed, with not even a care if she happened to be the last one standing on the Earth. She was all white and short, with a rounded belly and small hooves worthy of rugged terrain. Her mane was long and flowing and her tail an exact replica. She was a sight that made anyone coo with delight and adoration because above all else, she was absolutely adorable.
Safi was situated between the thickest portion of two shrubs nibbling at the leaves and twigs mindlessly. Occasionally she would lift her head and listen then look around to be sure she was in no danger of approaching loners or worse; stallions. The birds would chirp, the squirrels would chatter and scurry but nothing would suggest such eminent danger and the process would repeat. Eventually she grew tired of the routine and decided to relocate elsewhere. She followed along the ravine wall, almost unnatural in it's smooth finish and so tall she wondered how anyone could get out of the area, or how she even got in. "What are you hiding?" the mare whispered in awe as she looked up along the length of the wall and watched the birds flying over head. Just as she lowered her crown the wind blew and brought about something oddly peculiar. Safi's ears swiveled as she jerked her head in the direction of the disturbance. What was that?
The mare stood completely still trying to listen carefully, but the breeze had long stopped. I know I heard something. Voices? Safi silently questioned herself as she took a tentative step forward. Curiosity was doing it's dirty deed, slowly consuming the mare until she could no longer hold back the urge to investigate. She made sure to walk quietly along the forest floor, her head slightly lowered with caution. It was possible that someone was nearby.
It was a good 20 yards before the scent filled her nostrils with a suddenness that made her tense up like the prey animal that she was. Luckily, it was not the stench of a predator, but traces of her own kind, and more than just one. A herd? She looked at the wall of vines slightly confused as to why there would be so much traffic in this one spot. Nostrils flaring the mare pointed her muzzle at the vines, and upon a gentle touch accidentally found the vegetation to be soft and pliable. There was no stone behind them. Safi forcefully pushed her way through and damn near stumbled into a small cavern.
She had essentially frightened herself and was not expecting the darkness that followed. She would have turned tail and run had it not been for the discovery of her original piqued interest. There was light not to far off in the distance and from that side of the tunnel voices could be heard streaming into the darkness and bouncing along the cave walls. They only magnified in volume and surrounded her with intensity. It was a conversation, something about an asshole lead and force breeding. It was all rather crazy sounding and far too much for her to handle. As juicy as it was Safi was not interested on eavesdropping in on these troubled individuals. The mare turned and of course with her horrible luck managed to strike a small pebble that went flying across the stone floor. For someone in stealth mode the clashing noise was damn near deafening and it made her freeze in place. She held her breath and allowed a deathly silence to befall her. She had to listen, to make sure she had gone unnoticed before moving again.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade slightly enjoyed the confrontation with Tilney. It kept his blood boiling and at this point he didn't know how he would ever trust the stallion or if they would ever get along. The brute truely had a huge distaste for Tilney and was pretty confident it would stick for a while, if not forever. However, if Hael was carrying his foal then they had to learn to get along somehow for the sake of her sanity. As Tilneys head was almost pressed against Slades he enjoyed the good insult match. Any other stallion would kick another so far out of the herdlands they'd be on the moon for this amount of disrespect. Though Slade knew Tilney would soon be an important factor in Hael's life, and for that he had to keep his actions to himself and just fight with words instead. Slade's listening devices picked up every one of Tilney's arrogant words, he digested them but let his voice sit until the stag was done and began to walk away. Then, his voice chimed in, he always had to have the last words. "Clearly, everyone being angry at me doesn't really bother me Tilney. I have no regrets. Do whatever you please, say whatever you please at least I can go to sleep knowing I never got a stranger pregnant. No matter how the story goes." He sneered and the turned his head away from Tilney as he walked away, truth, he wasn't worth any more of his time. Next, Hael had began responding to the words he spoke about his feelings. He almost cringed as he heard her speak of understanding. He felt so bad for her, but did what he had to do and he truthfully thought that she might have a better like for Tilney, his views were a bit more... pure. Slade was just a rough and tough around the edges guy and worried that would be too much for her. He however, didn't want to hurt her. Stuck in between a rock in a hard place, he was for sure. Soon enough, Bones approached him and let out her idea on the matter they had been quarreling about, the fact of Slade not telling her what was going on. Too late now though, he couldn't take it back now. His expression was blank as she said he lied about her.. BROTHER.. Slade took in a deep breath but held his tongue, he wanted to badly to snap back about how he wasn't lying and once she found him to let Slade know how the reunion went.. but he didn't say a word. She finished her blow up and trotted away right after, didn't even leave a moment for Slade to speak. However, he shrugged it off, he had too because suddenly a new scent reached his nares, another mare. His lucky week! His ears perked and his head grew higher upon his shoulders and neck as he peered around trying to catch a vision of the sweet scent that filled in his lungs. Soon, he did. The mare was black and rather really really fat. Instantly, he could tell she was carrying almost a truckload of foals in her belly. His eyes grew wide as he glanced to Hael and could sense she was surprised as well. He stood still in his tracks for a moment and just on looked as Hael paid attention to the wandering mare. Slades ears digested the words the mysterious mare spoke. She seemed rather bubbly and giddy as she spoke and laughed. As Hael tended to her and spoke to her Slade waited for his turn after Hael left.
He approached the mare slowly and half bowed down to her when he neared her face. Time to start over and regain balance in his herd. Or so he hoped. His voice started to release from his throat,
"Hello there Miss! I would love to give you a safe and comfortable place to stay, if you'd allow me to do so of course. You look like you're ready to spring some little ones anyday now!"
He smiled as his voice was relaxed and polite. He moved to the side of her and added more words.
"I'm sorry your herd was demolished, is there anything I can do for you right away? Do you need some water? Hael went to find you an apple to snack on if that would be of any help. However I'd gladly do anything you may need as well, just name it."
He was finished speaking, and paused waiting for her to answer until he stupidly realized he had forgotten to get her name, and give her his. With a small smile he turned his head to hers and let his vocals loose. "I have lost my manners, sorry for that. My name is Slade I am lead of this small herd here, what may yours be?" Now, he was finished. He waited paciently for her response and completely was unaware to the mare whom was stumbling though the hidden cave entrance. He was a bit of a distance from it and her scent or sound hadn't been carried to him yet, so instead his senses were fixated on the overly pregnant giddy black mare for the moment.

Regret and confusion were the only thoughts contained within Bones’ mind, there was no chance for sleep to take over. She was appalled at her earlier behavior towards Slade, which was uncalled for and inappropriate. The anger had won over, and words had slipped through her lips that should not have. An apology was needed but she doubted the angry stallion wanted to talk to her ever again. He probably wanted her gone from his herd lands as soon as possible, he had Hael and Blackbird to worry about now.
A large sigh left her lips, sleep needed to come to her so she was not tired and clumsy on her travels tomorrow. She tried to silence her thoughts and fall asleep, but as her thoughts were finally quiet she heard something much louder. This sound was not in her head this time, and it peeked her interests. Without much hesitation she stood up, walking towards where she thought she had heard it. It seemed that she really was not getting any sleep tonight.
She walked forward, listening for anything else to give away what could be hiding. There not a single sound after the first loud one, so when the wind blew Bones took a deep breathe in. The scent of another horse, a mare, hit her nares and relaxed her. She would go meet this other equine, maybe she was looking for a herd. Bones wouldn’t mind doing some good for this mare before she left, it seemed Slade had fixed most of his problems anyway. Except for Tilney and his love for Hael, that probably wouldn’t be fixed for a long time.
Slowly the brindle mare walked forward, not sure what to expect from the new equine she was searching for. She hoped she was friendly, she liked friendly creatures. She finally stumbled upon the little cavern, this had to be why the sound had been so loud. The echoes would have enhanced it loud enough for it to reach her ears. Sticking her head in, she was instantly met with the figure of a white mare who looked more scared then anything. This would be delicate, she didn’t want the other to find her as a threat and run away.
“Hello there…I’m Bones. No one is going to hurt you here, they’ll protect you if you’d like to meet them…” She greeted the mare in a soft voice, trying to make her calm down before she asked any questions. Bones really believed that Slade would be a great leader after he got over this bump, or rather a mountain, of problems. She also believed he would protect his herd with all he had in him. He just seemed like that kind of stallion, and she did like that, and was a large reason why she regretted what she had done.

The brindle mare waited for the other to reply for some time, but she stayed silent like a deer caught in headlights. She wasn’t sure what she should do, if she should walk closer or talk again or simply leave her. The poor mare looked terrified, and Bones was starting to believe she just needed some space and then she would come around. “We have a very nice herd over here, everyone is very friendly. We would love for you to come join us, no one will hurt you. If you want to come check it out, just follow after me. I’ll be talking to the lead stallion, he’s very friendly,” She reassured the mare before slowly turning around and heading back out.
Bones walked slowly, glancing over her shoulder once. She wasn’t sure if she had made the right choice, but she couldn’t wait until morning for this mare to finally talk to her. She had more pressing matters to attend to though, like going to apologize to Slade for her stupid words earlier. In truth, she really didn’t want to leave this herd and she was now too terrified to go find Fear. She was always scared the rumors were correct, and after Slade’s word, she didn’t want those rumors to be proven true.
Slowly she made her way through the herd lands, ignoring all the other horses. In such a short time Slade’s herd had grown so much. It honestly wouldn’t even be a big deal if she left, Slade had so many other herd members now. There was nothing special about her, she was just another equine. She at least needed to say her apologies though, and see if he would allow her to stay. If not, well then she tried her hardest and she would move on. There was always other equines out there to go meet.
Bones walked up the little hill, stopping a few feet away from Slade. “I just want to apologize for the way I acted earlier. My actions and words were without thinking and should have never happened. I have no right to be so angry with you, I just allowed my emotions to cloud my judgment. I should have realized the hard times you were going through, and instead of acting like a friend I acted selfish and childish. As I sat over there and thought about it I know I was wrong. If the same situation was presented to me I might have done the same thing. I’m also sorry I called you a liar about Fear, I just don’t want the rumors to be true. I would rather think he is a nice stallion of pure intents, and I let my emotions get the best of me there as well,” She said quietly, her blue eyes watching the stallion closely.
Taking a deep breathe she finished her apology, “I truly hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. If you do, and the offer is still standing, I would like to join your herd. I understand it might be chaotic right now, but I will happily go along with the roller coaster if you allow me too,” The mare finished, her eyes never leaving him. She braced herself for his reaction, figuring he would not accept her apology and he would tell her she just needed to move on get out of here. She would not be happy about that outcomes, but she could listen and leave as he wished.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade was standing atop of his 'lead perch' in the herdlands. This was where he liked to spend most of his time watching everyone and the surroundings to make sure everything was going in good order. That their were no threats and that all was peaceful. Infact, him standing all alone on his hill was the most peaceful it had been in a while. Maybe that was how he was to be, maybe thats the way his life was supposed to go. He was supposed to live a life mateless and to only care for and tend to his herd. Maybe things would be better that way if he kept his mind focused on his duty to his herd instead of letting his feelings get sloppy and ruin everyone's experience in his herd. Still, even with all this quite time, he still couldn't kick the distaste he had for Tilney. Really, he just was on opposite sides of the earth with that stallion. He could only hope that if Tilney did stay, that they could eventually work it out, or at least find a way to tolerate each other, for the good of everyone.
Then there was Hael, poor Hael. He had fallen so quickly for her and now she was most likey pregnant with another stallion and all he could do was watch. He had to let her go only because it was the right thing for him to do. Sometimes it didn't bother him, but other days it did. Time alone did that to you though, you have alot of time to think about how the world spins and how things all seem to fall into place at the end.
Next, there was that new mare, Blackbird. She was overly pregnant and ready to pop at anyday. Slade only hoped that the mares in the herd would be of assistance to her because he sure didn't know anything about foaling. Of course, him and Kinzie were trying to have a foal when they were together, but since it never happened, it left him without practice. More or less, he figured it was just a 'let nature take its course' type of deal. Shrugging off those thoughts his mind switched to Bones.
He wondered what she thought of him now. He had royal screwed up, and rarely ever admitted it. Now he had screwed up things with Hael, and Bones so his life was really a ball of joy at the moment... Sometimes he wondered how he could fix it, what he could do or say to her to get her to consider staying. Other times he thought he had messed up too badly and it was out of his hands now, a choice that bones would have to make on her own.
Slade tried to clear his head of all thoughts and just relax. His opticals gazed down on the herd around him and scanned the nearby surroundings for trouble too. Soon enough, the sight of bones came into his vision. He could see her walking from the entrance. Maybe she had left and decided to come back? He half smiled as he grew a little happy for a moment, but it diminished quickly as he realized she could also be coming back with bad news, or something to ruin the moment. Either way, he was going to have to face the music, so now was a good time as ever. Slade shifted his weight as he watched her walk to him, he held a almost blank expression across his maw as he waited for what she had to throw at him now. She was a bit of a spunky mare, said what she wanted to say and didn't hesitate to do so. Because of that Slade braced himself for another full on confrontation, but surprisingly, didn't get it.
As she spoke she said how sorry she was, and that she was sorry she thought he had lied about Fear. How she understood that he was going though alot and that she would like to stay of he would allow her. Slade shook his head, not really believing the words he took in. Once again, she mentioned wanting to ride the roller coaster of his herd and stay if he would allow it. Shocked, Slade just stood froze. The cold winter air picked up and danced through his mane and forelock as his blue eyes met hers. It was almost a magical moment, but he blinked and shifted his gaze trying to control his emotions. He had been on the hill for too long without attention from others and he now realized that. Slowly, he opened his maw to speak back, but closed it instead.
Leaning down, the stag stretched out his front leg and pulled back his right front leg. He dropped down into a bow and tucked his nose in. For a moment he held the bow before standing back up and tipping his maw towards her before his soft charming vocals spoke up. "I would be glad to have you in my herd, Bones." he said with a small smile and a tip of his head before shifting his gaze to check the herd once again. Satisfied, he looked back to Bone's blue eyes and let his vocals ring again. "Thank you for your apology, but I should be apologizing to you. I made the mess, so really, there is no need. I'm just glad you decided to stay." He paused and chuckled softly before continuing his words. "Let me guess, my charming looks made you come back right?" He added in a cheesy smile revealing his ivories and laughed quietly at himself. He was glad to have the company now. He had made peace with everything that had gone wrong, beyond still not liking Tilney, but was happy to know that Bones had made peace as well.
Starting a new topic he walked next to Bones and nudged her to turn around and look from where she had just climbed up the hill, the view, was just perfect. Snow rested among the herdland, but only a few inches. The large pine trees offered great cover from the elements but the few cubby holes in caves scattered about the lands also helped in the shelter aspect. As you stood atop Slades perch you could really admire the true beauty of this place, the place they now both called home. Now only, Slade wondered if Bones would make peace with Hael as well. For Hael exploding on Bones was Slades fault as well, and he knew it. Pushing the topic aside he let a smile pull his lips across as he looked over to Bones and spoke once more, his voice mesmerizing. "Beautiful isn't it?"
From here on out Slade was going to try to keep things going right, as long as he could hold his temper together. Admiring the true beauty of his homeland, and Bone's homeland now too, was a good start.

Bones watched him carefully, her blue eyes never leaving his large figure. When he didn’t speak to her, just stood there, she began to feel extremely nervous. He wasn’t going to accept it, he was going to yell at her, he was going to turn her away. She deserved it though, that was what she was trying to tell herself so it wouldn’t hurt so much to be rejected. She was not ready for his bow though, and the surprise was easy to see on her expression. A grin lightened her features as he accepted her apology and allowed her to stay.
“Yes, your charming good looks were what got me. I couldn’t imagine leaving without getting to know such a handsome stag like you,” She teased him, a playful little grin on her face as she nudge him. She moved as he nudged her back, turning around to take in the herd lands from where he stood. It was beautiful up here, one could even like the snow when they looked at it from up here.
“It is beautiful. I see why you stand up here, it truly is breathtaking. You picked a great place to start your herd, I’m sure it’s only the first of many great decision you will be making for this herd now,” She said kindly, her blue eyes moving from the herd lands beneath her up to Slade. He really would be a great lead and he would make good decision, it would all just come with time. Nothing always went perfectly, everything had its ups and downs.
The brindle mare looked back out at the herds, blue eyes landing briefly on the horses. Looking up here the herd look much bigger, and with two possibly three foals on the way, it would possibly be getting even larger. And the scared mare she had left behind, which she was considering talking to Slade about. She was keeping it to herself though, if she had scared her than Slade would send her running for the hills.
Blue eyes landing on Hael, the mare let out a short breath. If she was going to stay around here she was going to have to go speak to her.
