I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade had smiled when she replied about how handsome he was, under his breath he softly giggled as well but didn't want to look too foolish as well. He responded back to her comment about the view, indeed it was a great spot.. "Yes, great views, but not only that. If you look at it from a lead stand point you can see the vined cave entrance, the waterfall in the rear, right now the gathering of the horses in the west and the apple trees in the east. Its a great spot to keep watch, make sure everyone is safe here. Of course, as a lead safety of the herd is the main goal. Quarrals come after that." He paused and added on before moving on. "And thank you, for the compliment. I sure do hope so."
Still happily smiling he looked to Bones as he thought of a new idea, only the best idea to fix all of this. Quietly, he turned and faced Bones and smiled before once again dropping to one knee and bowing down, this time in greeting. As he stood he looked Bones in the eyes and half smiled before letting his sweet voice slip from his maw. He wanted them to start over, to almost try to erase everything crazy that had happened before. This was his attempt. "Why hello Miss. My name is Slade. You have stumbled upon my herd that I'm sure you'd love to be apart of! Why do you say?.. Because then you never have to live without me again!" He couldn't help but laugh at his own stupid humor, but he was having fun and he hoped Bones would enjoy the joke too. Maybe they could start over and get a friendship right off the bat this time. Slade then began to move his hooves, circling the mare and seeming to look her over before his charming voice was released again. "And what would your name be, pretty lady?" He was having fun with this, but also kept to his duties as lead this time, glacing down every couple of minutes to look over his herd. His herd, something that sounded oh so surreal. However, it was real, this was his homeland, his herd, his life now. He almost sighed at all the thoughts running though his head, good thoughts, yet some sad and confused mixed in too. He almost felt as if he was getting in the same boat as before. Spending time with and having fun with Bones. Even though he told Hael it couldn't be he still felt like he was almost cheating on her, in a weird and messed up kind of way. She was the one who went and got bred by another stallion, but in the same respect Slade was the one who chased he all around and tried to keep her from harm. He killed those humans so they could escape, and then it all fell apart around him and he felt like he was the one in the wrong too. However, he knew he couldn't do much about it now. It was time to move on, he just doesn't want to destroy a friendship with with Hael at least. He knew that much, that he couldn't loose her completely, that would destroy him. He knew sooner or later Bones and Hael would have to talk and Slade kinda wanted to be there too. Just knowing that both mares were ok with the other would put him more at ease, make him feel like he wasn't betraying Hael at least.
Slade pressed on past all the thoughts and half smiled at Bones before asking another question, he wanted to keep the conversation going. Not having anyone to talk to, up here on the hill really got boring. Now Bones was here, so he wanted to talk. "So, tell be about yourself too, if you'd be so kind." With that he happily waited for the mares response as his eyes scanned her pretty and unique colored coat. "hmm' he mumbled to himself as he really had not appreciated the beauty of Bones much before. His eyes were so clouded with Hael that he almost completely overlooked Bones....

Bones nodded, her listening devices taking in his words. From a lead’s point of view this was a perfect place to watch over the herd, you could see every inch of it from here. If there was any danger, Slade would be the first one to know. At the same time though, it secluded him from the rest of his herd, and unless they came up here, he was not interacting with the other equines. “From a leader’s point of view I am sure this place is great to watch over your herd. From my eyes though I see only beauty and a great choice” She spoke fondly.
The mare was preoccupied with thoughts about the herd and the hiding mare and Hael when his words broke through, causing her blue orbs to focus on him once more. She looked at him with a perplexed expression on her face before she finally realized what he was doing. It made her smile, she liked the idea. “I would love to join this magnificent herd that you have established Slade. I’m sure it will be a great place to be. My name is Bones, and thank you for the compliment good sir,” She said with a friendly little nod and a genuine smile. Her tone was playful and friendly, just liking the friendly atmosphere.
She was happy to relax and joke after the tense time before. Between Hael jumping down her throat and Slade’s argument with everyone, and then her little sass back, she was done with being angry and snappy. She just wanted to be able to relax and have a nice time, get use to this whole herd life that was so new to her. She really hoped talking to Slade wouldn’t anger Hael though, because all she wanted to do was talk and be friends. If not friends, at least okay with each other.
The brindle mare was lost in her thoughts, thinking about how she was going to get the tasty thoughts of herself out of Tilney and Hael’s mind. She needed the thoughts gone and better thoughts to take their place, she refused to be looked down upon for just trying to make a friend. The thought occurred to her then that her talking up here with Slade would probably look bad once again, but right now she tried to push those negative thoughts away. She was just trying to make a friend, and make it right with that friend, and if they had a problem with it they would just have to get over it.
Once again Slade’s voice pulled her back to reality, making her blue eyes focus as she glanced up at him. Her mind took a moment to process what he had said, and then even longer to think about what to say. No one asked about herself, and she wasn’t really sure what to say. “Umm…well I’ve been travelling alone for two years, and that whole time I’ve been looking for Fear. He’s actually my half-brother, we have different fathers. I use to belong to a very large pure herd, but a young stallion took it over with dark intentions in mind. He was my father, and her forcebred my mother after killing or running off the other’s. He made her stay there amongst her fallen friends, and that’s how I was named. I mean, I had a real name, but Bones stuck since that’s mostly what I remember,” She murmured, not really intending to spill it all out but she couldn’t stop it once she started.
She had held everything in for two years, never speaking about it to a single soul, until this very moment. Until this very moment, only her mother and father knew outside of herself. It felt like a great relief to get it off her chest, like a weight had been lifted off her shoulder. She didn’t say it for his sympathy or to make him feel bad for her, she just realized when she started talking that she needed to share it with someone. And if Slade was willing to listen, like no other equine had before, then she was going to spill her guts out to this stallion.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade gazed his blue opticals at Bones as she talked about her history. He could tell it slightly bothered her, and he could understand why. First, telling another equine your lifes story was always hard, especially if it involved death or destruction, anything that hurt the heart. A feint smile was across his lips, warm and inviting as she spoke about her father and how he forcebred her mother. To Slade, that was so wrong. Obviously everyone knew how he stood on the whole Tilney and Hael issue, and Hael was the one who told Tilney to do it. Though that still bothered him so he had no idea how he would ever be able to take a forcebreeding, or if his mom had been forced to have him. It was cruel! Then, she mentioned the part about the Bones, and thats how she came across her name. It was a saddening story and Slade wanted Bones to know that she could seek comfort in talking to him. That he wouldn't judge or be rude about sensitive topics. He reached out and nuzzled her next softly and side stepped closer to her until his side touched hers.
Bones opening up about her past made him want to open up a bit as well. Though Bones hadn't asked to hear it, he wanted to explain himself as well too. Who knows, maybe it could help them each understand each other a bit. But before he said anything about himself, he continued about Bones. "So Fear.. Was he close to you? And what of your mother? Is she ok somewhere?" Slade questioned, his voice curious and deep. As he waited for a reply he decided to lighten the mood a little, He dipped his nose down into the snow and smeared it with the white powder. Lifting up his nose before the snow had a chance to melt he shook his head as some splattered on Bones. He laughed for a short moment and then released a quirky, goofy smile across his lips. His eyes connected with her blue ones for a moment and then he blinked and began to explain himself, heartfelt moment. "Well, If you'd allow me, I'll tell you a bit about myself as well. So we are even." There was a short pause before his voice ruptured the silence and his eyes became almost gazed over in a blank stare as he thought about his past. "Well. I was born to a mother and father, pretty much like any other story begins. When I was young my father fell Ill and my mother left him for another stag. He per say 'adopted' me and my two sisters. I was always the trouble maker of the herd, but we traveled and moved around alot. My mom never really did seem to keep the same man around, but my step sire lasted the longest. Her and I never really got along much so as soon as I was old enough to be away, I left and never looked back. I traveled for a bit and came across a filly named Kinzie. Her and I turned out to be mates for 3 years, we tried to have a foal but it never worked out and things between us just grew distant. It was a mutual agreement to just end it and go our separate ways. Me, being young and dumb would then hang out with other lone stallions and see if we could score any other mares. Soon enough I found my last Ex. She was reckless and stupid. She ran away one time and told other stallions that I beat her up, when really she went and hit herself off trees to frame me. That night a fire got started somehow near where I slept and thats how my leg got burned. I left that area and never looked back. I know I have messed up in my life, and starting this herd was supposed to be my way of giving myself and others the taste of a good life." Slade paused for a moment and let out a small sigh, the rest of what he was going to say still tugged on his heart strings a little, and he hoped it didn't really bother Bones, but for now, he wanted to be honest with her, though opening up was something he rarely, if ever did. Usually if he had a problem, or tons on his mind he just let it be, it was no one elses problem, or business knowing. After the sigh, he continued. "And then, I met Hael. She was young, inexperienced with the way things in the wild were. Scared and alone. I tried to talk to her, she didn't open up much to me. I tried to comfort her but nudging her neck and things all went up into flames. She got scared at my touch ran away, got captured again, and then I got captured.. and well, you know the rest about Tilney. But in that short while I grew to care for her so much, enough to say that I loved her. But obviously you know how far that got me too. So I guess you could say that I'm bad luck. I'm slow to trust others, but quick to let my heart fall in love. Too quick sometimes." Slade paused for a moment and looked up into Bones eyes for a second before closing his small speech.
"All I want to build is a stable home and stable relationships. A place where foals could grow up happy and envious stay away. I want this to be a safe haven with a great lead at the helm. I only hope I can fit the bill and keep to everything I said. I sometimes have a temper but I hate being alone, so thanks, for coming up here and spending some time with boring old me." He chuckled softly before continuing. "Life goes on then, right?" He finished with a crooked smile and a twinkle in his eye as his dazed over look faded and he let himself get lost for a moment in Bone's blue eyes.

The mare had been slightly surprised by his nuzzle to her neck and his step closer, his body close to hers. With each breathe she could feel their sides touch, and though it was comforting at the time, her mind instantly went to Hael. The mare would think poorly of her if she saw them, she would surely think that Bones’ only goal was to woo over the stallion she still had feelings for. Slade’s touch was not unwelcome, but the reaction Hael might have would be. Her listening devices perked at his questions, a smile on her lips. “As crazy as it seems I’ve never even met Fear, my mother told me she had a son and I wanted to find him. I’ve just heard the stories, but I always thought I would find some type of family out there. My mother…she was probably killed by my father when she made forced me to flee from him. Before I left though, she made me swear I would never go back, so I guess I’ll never know what happened of her,” She answered simply, blue eyes staring off for a moment. She had come to terms with this, it didn’t bother her as much as it used to.
With Slade’s movement she brought her eyes back to him, a smile spreading across her lips and a laugh disturbing the night air when he came up with a mouth covered in snow. She turned her face away as the snow splattered on her, the white snow melting into her brindle pelt. Playfully, she reached out and nipped at his black pelt before she dipped her own nose down and flicked snow up at him. She used this opportunity to put a half step between them, so they were no longer touching each other.
The smile slipped through from her features as he began to talk himself, quite surprised that he was talking. She didn’t expect him to talk to her, she just figured she would talk and that would be the end of it. Nothing slipped through her lips as she listened, just watching him with a careful expression. Slade’s life had not been an easy one either, even when all he ever meant was good but nothing good ever happened to him.
This time she reached out to him, nuzzling his neck softly as he talked about Hael. She could tell that there were many hurt feelings about the whole thing, and it left Slade confused and heart broken. She had never allowed herself to get that close to another equine, she didn’t know the pain, but she figured it had to be pretty terrible to feel. “You’ll find someone Slade, the best things come to those who wait,” She said quietly before moving back, she hoped her words would offer some kind of comfort to the upset stag.
Her blue eyes stared into his once he started speaking again, she listened quietly, and she found what he said made her feel safe and comfortable. She felt like he truly was trying the best for everyone, and he was doing a pretty good job. A few bumps, but he had something big planned and his heart was pure. Even if he did get a temper sometimes. Occasionally she believed someone focused so much on others that they didn’t even allow themselves to be happy. Or truly happy that is.
“I believe you will do a great job Slade, and that you fit the bill more than even you know right now. I see a great leader before me, and I am sure these lands will be filled with many more pure horses with time. And when foaling times comes and the times after that, this land will be filled with the happiness and laughter that comes with every young foal. And I’m sure, with time, you will find that special someone that will be well worth the wait, and you will grow old with her and have a nice heir to take over this herd later on in life,” She said softly, it would all happen to him, with time and when he started looking. When he focused on his own happiness just a little instead of the happiness of everyone else.
The brindle mare stared up into his eyes as he stared at her, and for a moment she allowed it. They had shared a moment, but she needed to end it for now. Tearing her gaze away, she glanced down at their hooves in the white snow. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to get close to or befriend him or have a touching moment up here on his hill, but it was that everyone could see them. Including Hael, and for some reason she could not shake how much that bothered her. Not this soon anyway, maybe when the feelings had gone and they both could heal a little. If she could even help it, not allowing herself to get close to Slade was seeming almost impossible at this point.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. When Bones had spoke of her family Slade couldn't help but feel really bad for her. He too had lost everything he had ever loved and knew how it felt. Although Bones didn't loose any mates, family was the same thing. "Wow. I feel horrible for you." He spoke amazed. "Really, I mean. I guess I don't know how my family is right now either, but I'm assuming Fear is older then you eh? And you've never met him... wow now I understand why you were so eager to find him." There was a small pause as you could tell Slade was searching for words. He wanted to make this something special for Bones, something she would hopefully appreciate. When he found the right words, he finished. "I'll tell you what. When I can find a beta that I believe can actually protect this herd and keep it from falling apart in my absence, you and I will go out and find your brother. Together. Envious or not, hes your brother and maybe you will find closure in at least knowing that he is still alive and well. Plus, I'll be there to show you my fancy fighting moves incase he has a herd or envious or we get into some sort of trouble."
He had noticed when Bones stepped the little bit away from him after their small snowball fight. He had also noticed her gazing over the hill down towards the others quite a bit. However, he didn't think she was gazing to keep checking up on the herd, but rather to keep checking up on Hael. He could tell that the subject kind of bothered her, but he didn't blame her really. Hael had snapped at Bones not long ago because of this very reason, so her actions were completely justified.
As Slade had began to talk about Hael he felt the warm touch of Bone's muzzle on his neck. It comforted him, and he truly enjoyed it. It had been so long since Slade had the real touch of a mare and he was prepared to welcome Bone's attention anyday. After he finished his small splurge about Hael, Bones had spoke up again. He listened to her words and smiled softly but blinked and looked away for a moment while responding to her words. "Thank you Bones. I hope so, but I'm just so impatient." That was nothing but the truth. In all reality, Slade was far from patient. He knew if he wanted something done he would always have to do it himself because it took far to long for others. He always became angered easily if something did not go his way and lost all patience fast. One of his not so great traits, but that was him. However, he was a very optimistic equine, always thinking on the brighter side of things and he knew he would one day find a mate, just this time he hoped it would be the final one. Just then, he added. "I know I will. Only this time, I want it to be my final mate." He smiled and laughed at his own statement. It sounded so bad, to only be 8 years old and already have gone though 2 mares. However, in the equine world he knew that was nothing very out of the ordinary. He knew Envious claimed all the mares they could, but that wasn't Slade. One thing that did bother him, was the fact that Kinzie never did get pregnant. He wasn't sure if the problem was on his end, or hers, but either way he still did remain optimistic about that too. He truly did want a family and a foal, but knew it would happen in its own time.
He had left his mind wander there for a moment as he thought about everything, until Bone's melodic voice caught his ears and he twisted them towards her to listen. She spoke about how good of a leader she thought he was and that things would work out for the best. He was glad she believed in him, it made him feel good about himself, at least for a moment. He smiled and nodded to her while softly speaking up, "Thank you, Bones."
He then started a new subject, He knew that all they were doing up here on the hill would be just ways for the others to be mad at him. Because of that thought he turned away from Bones and nudged her rump to follow, He then began to walk down the backside of the hill towards the waterfall. Which was barely even flowing that much anymore now that it was so cold. However, it was a running creek on both ends so what wasn't frozen did fall from the large rocks. As he got to the bottom he turned and faced Bones once again. It was dark out now and although he usually slep atop his hill he wanted to offer Bones something. It was probably a bad decision, but he couldn't help but ask. Hopefully it wouldn't make anything fell awkward between them. Though he did long so badly to find a mate, he was going to purely as this of Bones as a friend, so maybe he could get a good nights rest. It was so hard for him to sleep and to stay asleep when he slept alone and ever since he had ended it with his last mate he just never had a complete and refreshing dream filled night. Finally as he looked at Bones he just spat it out, laying all his cards on the table as he confidently spoke. "Bones, care to join me to sleep tonight?" There was an awkward type pause as he smiled like a deer in the headlights and tried to make his words sound less.. sexual. "I mean... Well I haven't gotten a good nights rest in a long while. I just can't seem to sleep all though the night unless there is another standing or laying next to me. That is, if I even can get to sleep before the sun rises in the morning. Now, all I dream of is catching up on my shut eye, and I think maybe if you stay here under these tall pines to sleep, that maybe I could get the rest I need.?" He hoped that really cleared the air as he waited for her reply, but added on a few more sentences to clear the air and maybe change the subject too. They wouldn't really be noticed under the pines away from the others, and as long as they weren't really laying together real close then not much could be said anyway. "Ya know. Leave it up to me to kill the moment with such a random question." He laughed softly before continuing. "You don't have to, I just figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Nooowwww..." He trailed off trying to think of something else to say so he could get off the subject and hopefully she just agreed, or at least didn't get mad at him for trying. He really couldn't deal with her mad at him, yet again. Suddenly, something popped into his mind that he could talk about as he saw a flash of lights overhead. Greens, Purples, yellows and orange. He smiled as he took a few steps out from under the pines and looked to the heavens. It was the northern lights raining over the skys, such a beautiful dance of nature. He was awestruck as he wanted to grab the attention of Bones, so she could see it too. "Bones. You have got to see this." He spoke as he still had his head tipped up into the night sky while watching the colors dance around. Now this, made everything truly magical. Perfect end to a great night.

Bones was about to answer that Fear was in fact older than her, but his next words silenced her. Shock overcame her, complete surprise, as she didn’t really know what to say. No one was ever willing to do so much for her, to risk that much, except for her own family. Well her own mother that was, and that meant so much to her. It left her speechless and scrambling for words as she watched him. Once more she reached out and nuzzled his neck, but this time as a thank you instead of for comforting him. “You cannot understand how much that means to me, thank you…so much. No one has ever done so much for me,” She whispered softly, words laced with gratitude.
She listened to what he said then, her ears perking up at the little bits and pieces of what he said, especially about the mates. She could see that Slade moved to fast, another thing she knew nothing about. She didn’t even know anything about moving too slow. She had never had a mate, hadn’t even considered getting one. She never settled down, she was always travelling. A mate and a family were something she figured would happen to her much later in life, whenever the right horse came along. After she had found Fear, and if that right horse ever came long. Then again, she had never seen herself joining a herd either. And here she was, in Slade’s herd.
Her mind was still lost in jumbled thoughts about finding Fear and her whole future, mixed with thoughts of Slade’s past, when he nudged her and caused her to jump a little. She had been so lost in her own little world that she hadn’t even noticed any movement from him. Silently she followed him down the hill though, feeling herself relax as she was finally out of the view of Hael and all the others. She could finally act normal around Slade without constantly looking over her shoulder and wondering what the others would think about her.
Once again she found herself frozen by Slade’s words, too shocked by his question to even respond. Sleep with him? God, how angry would Hael be at her then? Was this a joke or a trap? Was he moving so fast that he had already moved on? Questions flitted through her mind that she barely even heard his awkward explanation, only catching some of it. Even if it was for just a good night’s sleep, she couldn’t allow herself to get so close. Not just because of Hael, but because of herself. After two years she had not gotten close to a single equine, and she wasn’t sure if she could allow such feelings creep in now.
Though she did owe him, she needed to show her thanks somehow for his offer to find Fear with her earlier. That deserved a thank you, even if it was something that she might have to pay for later. Maybe just in his proximity would be close enough, that would not mean anything. Plenty of horses slept closely to each other without sharing any feelings, it was nothing. She was just a young mare over reacting about this whole subject. Slade did not mean anything by it, he just wanted a good night’s sleep.
By the time she was starting to calm herself down enough to answer Slade was already moving off, and calling for her to follow after him. She once again snapped out of her own little thoughts so her hooves could carry her over to him, standing in awe at the beautiful northern lights. Her blue orbs stared at the dancing lights in the sky for some time, taking in their beauty, before she finally answered Slade. “I think I will join you tonight Slade. It was terribly lonely in that corner where I couldn’t sleep, every little noise made me jump, and I do owe you a proper thank you for earlier,” She said quietly, looking away from the beautiful lights to glance up at him, quickly bringing her eyes back to the lights. They were an easy thing to distract her from Slade’s reaction.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade could tell that the question he had asked Bones bothered her. Which of course, he did not want it to. Really he didn't mean anything by it but wanting a full night of peaceful sleep, and she wouldn't have to 'cuddle' with him or anything. Just be there.. he glanced over to her and mentioned. "just a night, thats all, and not like you have to be pressed up close to me. Just be here." He wiggled out a charming half smile and waited as she answered his question. /I think I will join you tonight Slade./ His mind half raced and his body relaxed as she spoke but he was truely happy that she agreed to stay. A great night sleep had awaited him tonight, He watched the northern lights for a little longer but soon yawned and tipped his head down. /Time for bed/ he thought to himself before he nudged Bones side and walked past her a few steps to under the large pine trees. It was chilly outside now, and a few snow flakes had started to slowly fall. Slade got caught up in the moment for just a second and gazed into the distance before turning to face outward from under the trees. Now it was time to sleep as he knew Bones offered to join him, so it comforted him as she slowly closed his eyes and allowed himself to fall into a deep, restless sleep. While he slept however, he had hoped to have great peaceful dreams, but instead, he had messed up and almost twisted dreams... They made him shake and tremble, but never actually wake up. So in a sense, at least he did get sleep. However, his dreams contained a mess of emotions and feelings for two main equines. He had dreamed that Hael had her foal, and for some reason it looked like the spitting image of a young Slade. However, as Slade slept he shook for a moment, there was no way Hael's baby could ever be his, he indeed didn't breed her, Tilney did. In the same dream he was looking though his own eyes, standing afar atop his hill while watching Hael give birth to that black and white colt. Lone behold, he turned his head in the dream to see Bones standing tall and proud beside him with her belly as big as can be. Slades eyes twisted in his sleep as he couldn't believe what he was dreaming. Was Bones his mate? If so, she couldn't have taken long to become his, and pregnant at that. She was so big and seeing that Hael was just giving birth Bone's hadn't seemed to be more then a month or two behind Hael. His head twitched as he looked then back down to Hael and her dark foal as a smile grew on his lips, in his dream, and sleep. He was happy for her, the foal looked so cute and Slade just wanted to run down there and extend his congraulations while giving the youngster and his mother a sweet embrace. He hadn't seen Tilney yet, much to his surprise in this dream however. Though, he could see Blackbirds twins frolicking in the distance as Blackbird tried to assist Hael with her labor. He was so confused, in his own dream. It was autumn now, the leaves were starting to change colors once again... his dream had fast forward him right though winter, spring and summer and planted him here in fall. But why? As he continued to look down over the hill he could see more horses wandering about the herdlands, some horses he didn't even reconize, but had assumed his dream was tellilng him that he would have more herd members in the future. There was a large boned tall, almost draft grey mare. A dark almost liver chestnut shire looking stallion. A small, timid looking white mare and a colt who couldn't be more then a yearling. This was all a surprise to him, it felt so real though.. Once again he shruddered in his sleep but the dream kept going. He was so confused by it all. and then the unthinkable happened. He could feel a nudge at his side and turned to look over his shoulder. It was Bone's wide belly rubbing up against him. She then quickly opened her maw and let her sweet voice speak, but her words completely surprised him.
"That will be us soon Slade. We will have our own little son or daughter. I'm so excited!" Her voice beamed as Slades eyes grew wide in his dream while Bones then reached out to kiss his velvety maw. Suddenly, Slades eyes jolted open. He was back to reality and breathing like he had just run a marathon. He quickly looked around him as the sun was starting to rise above his lovely heaven. He could see Bones had somehow managed to get closer to him and her side had touched his for a moment, so he was hoping that was the reason he had dreamed what he did. But still, he was so confused. Why hadn't Hael's foal looked like Tilney or Hael? Slade sure didn't breed her. Then, on top of it all, how was Bones pregnant and talking to him about THEIR soon to be foal?... His mind raced as he shook his head and took a few steps away from Bones to think about everything. Maybe asking her to sleep near him was the wrong thing to do. Though, he did get a great night of sleep, He hadn't woke up once and he slept like a baby, but only a baby with bad dreams, or rather, confusing dreams. Slade took a few more steps forward as he walked back to the top of his perch and gazed over the lands. Everyone seemed fine as he caught glimpses of everyone still sleeping. Knowing that everyone was alright put him a bit at ease. And truthfully, seeing Hael without a black and white colt at her side made him even more calm. Satisfied, he walked back down the hill and back under the tree about 6 feet away from Bones and just slightly relaxed his eyes, thinking about all that he had seen and felt during his dream, trying to make sense of it all before Bones had awoke for the morning. Now, he just wasn't quite sure where to go from here... Was Bones supposed to really end up his mate? Would fate pull them together? He definitely wasn't sure now. Slade had always seen Bones as just any other normal mare, until he told Hael he couldn't let his love for her continue. That was when he started seeing Bones as the rather beautiful mare that she was. However, he didn't let himself feel any more then that. He knew that he had solely looked to Bones right now as a friend. Someone to talk to and spend time with, but the dream he had now opened up a whole new world of possibilities... He glanced over to her for a moment and sighed, his feelings no so confused, and if he had woken Bones at all during her slumber with his twitching, snorting and restlessness then she was bound to question him about it, and truthfully he didn't know whether to shrug it off, tell her the truth, or make up a lie... Another small sigh seeped though his velvety lips as he fluttered his eyelids and slipped into deep thought.

Bones was still staring at the colorful lights in the sky when Slade nudged her, looking away from the sky so she could look at him. Ah…Slade wanted to go to sleep, where as he mind was still wandering. She silently walked over though, laying down a few steps away from him. She curled up and laid there, feeling the cold snowflakes melting on her pelt, but she didn’t close her eyes. She only wished sleep would come as fast to her as it had Slade.
Her mind swam with everything that had happened today, replaying the moments she had spent with Slade after she had apologized to him. She wasn’t sure what to think, how the stallion thought of her right now. She thought of him solely as a friend right now, and wasn’t thinking about the future. If something came from it, so be it, but not right now with everything that had happened between him and Hael. Bones was just young and confused and didn’t want to think about that.
A soft breath left her nares as she tried to calm herself, watching the condensed air curl and float towards the sky. She just needed to take a few deep breathes and relax, because Slade meant nothing by it. Like he had said earlier, she was just a friend that would keep his mind off of Hael. He was still trying to get over her, there was no way he was developing feelings for her. Yes, she was right. She was just overthinking everything and allowing herself to freak out. She was just a friend to Slade, nothing more. And she intended to keep it that way for quite some time, if not forever.
A slight movement caught her attention, causing her thoughts to stop as she looked over. It was simply Slade though, twitching and moving in his sleep. A frown crossed her features, that didn’t seem like a good night’s sleep. She reached out to him, but ended up just getting up and laying a bit closer to him so their bodies were lightly touching. She wasn't going to, but she thought that if she was touching him he might sleep better. Through the night though she could feel him twitch though, occasionally waking her up. She finally fell asleep until morning, waking up to find Slade a good six feet away from her.
He seemed lost in his own thoughts, and she wondered what he was thinking about. Her mind raced about what had happened with him last night, what had made him twitch all night long. She considered going to talk to him about him, but she wanted to give him a little space as he seemed to be thinking. At least she wouldn't talk to him right now. She got up, shaking her pelt out before she went to go get a drink from the nearby creek. The drink was refreshing and cleared her mind, she really did need to go talk to Slade. Even if she felt slightly awkward this morning and worried Hael had caught a glimpse of them, she needed to face the music.
The brindle mare walked over to him, taking a deep breath as she looked over at him. “So why were you twitching all night? Did you not sleep well?” She asked him softly, her voice curious as her blue eyes stared into his. She was just confused and wanted to know what had been wrong, afraid that her sleeping next to him had hindered him instead of actually helping him. She should of just went back to her corner and stayed there, she wouldn't be making this mistake again.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. Slade snapped out of his gaze as Bone's voice cracked though the silence. He shook his head slightly trying to erase everuthing he was thinking about, and the confused feelings he was having. Though, it was painfully obvious that something was on his mind and bothering him, no matter how he tried to hide it. /Did you get a good nights sleep?/ Bones had asked him, and mentioned that he was twitching. Of course he didn't realise this because he had been in fact a sleep, but he figured the twitching was caused by the dream he was having, especially when Bone's pregnant belly had touched him in the dream, and when she had kissed his maw. He only figured these actions translated to him moving about in his sleep.
Shortly, he blinked and caught the gaze that she held, looking into his eyes, before he looked away down at the ground almost ashamed. "I slept excellent actually. Thank you Bones." He paused and swallowed for a moment before thinking up something else to say. He didn't want to tell her about his dream, not yet. He still had no clue what it ment anyways and he didn't want Bones getting worked up or scared about it. Maybe it was just some stupid dream that didn't mean anything anyway. Maybe he drempt it because he deep down was longing to not be alone, so in his dream he had Bones as his mate. He sighed softly before continuing his words; "I just had a dream, thats all. A long one at that. I'm sorry to have disturbed you while you slept. Don't worry, I won't ask you to stay again I'm sure I must have made you feel rather awkward, but I hope you got a good nights rest. I didn't even know I was twitching, I guess my sleep was just that deep and restfull. Thank you Bones, for that." He said with a smile as his voice was deep and sounded like he really did mean what he said, all in thanks to Bones. He had gotten a great deep and refreshing sleep out of it, just a confusing emotional one too.
Slade switched his weight around before reaching out once more to Bones, maybe if he changed the subject she wouldn't ask much more about his dream. Or if she did, he would have to make up a little white lie, He knew he just couldn't tell her what really happened in fear that she might look at him differently and not want to ever be apart of his life in anyway. Slade smiled awkwardly and looked back to Bones standing beside him. He really did love that she did that favor for him at least. soon enough, his charming voice spoke up. "So Fear. Have you heard anything on where he is, or has been at all? I know when I saw him, it was from afar, and quite a few miles north, in the more barren terra." He had managed to change the subject for now, but didn't really know what else to pick up with. Though, then some more questions popped into his head, something a lead would ask of course.
"So, on your travels here, did you run into anyone else? Or have you seen anyone else around the area? I only ask because I ovbiously want to keep everyone safe, but I haven't wandered outside the herdlands, well since Hael. At which point you were already here, so I guess I answered my question for me." He laughed softly to himself before picking up yet another topic. While they had some time to talk, he wanted to get to know Bones a bit more. If that dream DID mean anything, then Slade would one day, and one day soon end up with Bones. Because of this thought, he now seemed more intrigued to learn more about the brindle blue eyed mare.
"Ok, so I know about your history, but I don't know anything about you. What type of mare you are. I know you speak your mind and aren't afraid to say what you feel, thats for sure." He smiled and laughed happily for a moment while looking to Bones with a curious demeanor before slipping his vocals again. "But beyond that, I don't know much. Are you a fighter or do you run and take cover? What is your favorite season? Do you get along with mostly all equines or are you an outsider? Do you like foals or would you rather stay away from them? How do you see your future? Things like that." He finished, his curiosity overwhelming him for the moment. There was a good chance he would probably do something similar with the rest of the herd members too. A lead needed to know how everyone was going to ask if everything fell apart one day. He patiently waited for Bones response while letting his eyes wander around the landscape.

Though Slade reassured her that he had slept well, she did not believe him what he said though. She listened quietly to what he said, shaking her head. “No, you didn’t make me awkward through the night. Just this morning I saw you deep in thought and I though yesterday I might have done something to anger you or upset you in some way…” She murmured quickly, her voice slightly worried as she watched him. Slade wouldn’t even look at her, surely she had crossed a line somewhere.
Bones wanted to press the subject, to see if he would finally tell the truth, but she decided to stay quiet for the time being. His voice caught her attention anyway and he had already switched the subject, asking her about Fear. The young mare sighed, “I heard a few different things about his whereabouts. But I mostly heard that he was south of here and closer to the envious lands. I was just hoping I would pass by him one day. Honestly…I really didn’t have much of a plan or anything,” She admitted sheepishly, a bit embarrassed by it actually.
The brindle mare should have thought it through, though part of her didn’t even think she would actually ever find Fear. She honestly just thought she could just walk up and introduce herself and it would all be fantastic after that. Now that seemed stupid, and she was glad that she had stopped her. Once again her thoughts were cut short by another question, looking up at Slade. “I always ran into other equines on my travels, but the last one I ran into was quite some time ago. Three or four day’s journey away, and they were just passing through this area,” She said quietly. Except for the timid white mare she had saw before going to apologizing to Slade.
Once more her thoughts were pulled from the white mare as she heard another question, listening to Slade as he spoke. She waited until he was done before she was able to answer his question. “Well…I’m not usually in a flight or fight situation, so I really don’t know what I would do. I just prefer everyone just get along. I can’t stand when others are mad at me, and the times I do speak my mind and let my emotion’s get the best of me, I feel pretty terrible about it later,” She said truthfully, looking over at him. Just like yesterday, with Slade and how terrible she had felt after she had blown up on him.
“I love the spring, when everything is alive and bright. When families are growing and the flowers are blooming. It just seems like a much happier time,” She said with a soft smile as she thought about it. Much better than the winter, when the snow covered everything, everything was dead, and it was freezing. “I get along with almost everyone, and I usually like almost everyone. I love making friends, I just don’t ever stick around to form big relationships or anything,” She admitted quietly, except for now as she joined a herd and was trying to make friends. And was making friends with Slade, and hopefully others after him.
“For my future plans…I have no idea actually. I always imagined I would just keep travelling until I finally found Fear. Then after that I would end up finding someone or somewhere to join. Maybe start a family, but I never really thought about it that much. But now I’m in a herd and I’m not really sure. I love foals, others foals, but have never really thought about my own or a mate or anything. I guess I just…I don’t really have any future plans and I’m just playing it by ear. I’m sure if I fell in love one day I would love to have a family and all that stuff, but right now it’s just me and I’m pretty happy with my life,” She said quietly as she watched him. Well she hadn’t thought about mates until she thought Slade was falling for her, then she was a bit concerned and thinking about it.
She just realized now how stupid she was acting and how foolish he would think she was. She should of just shut up a long time ago and given simple, not stupid answers. Now she just seemed like some lonely little horse who stayed away from others except for her brother who she was chasing down yet had never even met. A soft sigh left her lips, she needed to just take a deep breath and relax. It didn’t matter what Slade thought, he was just a friend anyway.
“Tell me about yourself. The thing you like and dislike, your future plans. What some of your favorite things are, what some of your least favorite things are,” She said easily, trying to get the conversation off of herself. Slade could talk a lot once he got talking, so maybe if she got him talking he would not be thinking about how stupid and childish her answered had been. Slade was so much older than her, he probably thought of her as immature and childish. Sometimes she didn’t he understand why he choose to befriend her or why he was putting up with her. There were other horses out there that were probably way more interesting than her.

I knew you were trouble. when you walked in.. As Bones started speaking Slade listened happily. He wanted to know all about her, everything he possibly could know. Though after she spoke about thinking she did something wrong a horrible feeling came over him, he didn't want her to feel like that, ever. He didn't mean to make her feel like that, but he knew he couldn't tell her the truth about his dream. He knew it would probably more then likely instantly scare her off. So for now, he avoided the conversation and let Bones keep speaking. As she talked about Fear and not knowing where he was, Slade realized that this trip to find him later in life might be more then he expected. Bones didn't know where he was, Slade didn't either, so how would they even find him in the first place? Deep down Slade knew he couldn't leave his herd either, so he would certainly have to find a nice beta to take overs herd while he was absent. Once that happened, they would set out on an adventure to search for Fear.
His thoughts then got held up as Bones continued to the next question Slade had asked. She spoke about how she hadn't seen any other horses really, and that made Slade a bit more relaxed at least. Finally, she moved on to his question about her future plans and what she liked and disliked. This, Slade really wanted to hear. He twiched his listening devices towards her and had a content look on his face while he absorbed everything Bones had to say. First she talked about the fact that she wasn;t sure how she would react in a bad situation because she hadn't really been in one, which slade respected that fact, something that wasn't her fault. Then she got into the fact that spring was her favorite season, which was very nice. Though Slade loved summer because he enjoyed the heat. As she kept talking he just happily listened, and then she got into the juciy details. How she saw her life going. He smiled happily he enjoyed the fact that she was playing it by ear, which was how most equines lived. It love happened, it happened. However, being the impatient stag that Slade was, he always just expected it to happen so quickly. Being stuck right now with no relationship and not much furthur to go in life he was jsut feeling a bit down about it really. He had a herd now, he just needed another to share it with, a mate. Though he passed off the thought and listened to how Bones spoke about eventually maybe having a family. That was enough for him, at least the thought had maybe crossed her mind that she would be interested in possibly staying here in the herd and trying to settle down. /Perfect/ he thought to himself as he blinked his eyes and looked into Bone's for just a moment before she had stopped talking. She had also mentioned how she was content with her life as it was right now, which he could appreciate, but the dream still came back to bother him. He almost wanted to try to feel close to her, but if she was happy like she was now, without a mate, then he worried it would be hard to do that. He always believed things that would happen, do happen in time, but he never wanted to actually WAIT...
That was when Bone's feminine voice caught his ears again as she asked about him. His likes and dislikes and similar as he asked her. Slade smiled sweetly and cleared his throat a moment before speaking.
"Bones, thank you for sharing that all with me. I really do appericate it. I understand what you mean about not knowing how you would react in a fight, heck if you haven't really been in one, then how would you know?" He laughed happily and drew back an endless smile as he responded a little more to what she said.
"I love everything that you said, and how you opened up really. Not many equine's will do that, but I like to know about the horses I have in my herd, makes it easier to lead really. If you know each others weakness's and stregnths it helps. Plus, you're a great person to talk to really, so its good to know more about you. It think you'll find we do have a little bit in common really." Yet again, another pause. He had pretty much said everything he could without really being creepy. They really did have some in common, which made Slade happy, but he didn't want to blurt out something stupid like; /OMG. I had a dream about you Bones, you were my mate, and you were ready to foal at anytime!/.. because you know, that would be bad. So instead, Slade stopped and then turned the conversation to him.
"You really want to her about boring old me?" He questioned, but didn't give her much room for a response. "Ok. Well. Since I love talking anyway, you have convinced me dear Bones. Well. I'd have to say my likes would be.. Talking. Yep, I really enjoy talking, as you could obviously tell. I like the company of others and can't really stand to be alone much. I don't usually have alot of friends because I could be hard to get along with. Once you stab me in the back or do something to hurt me or ones I love I loose all respect and I'm done with you. Much like Tilney for example." He paused and laughed softly before continuing.
"Well, I'm rather impatient too. I know some things take time to happen, but I hate waiting. Sometimes I could be real nasty if you tick me off, but within an hour im back to myself and trying to make up for whatever rude things I said or did. I was always the problem child of my moms and I'm not afraid to fight. I love it actually. Now running, I hate. So I will pretty much stand up to any fight just so I don't have to run. I am genuinely loving, I care alot about the people that matter to me most and will do anything to protect them or stand up for them. When I do love, I love with my whole heart and soul. Usually I jump into everything rather too fast, but thats just how I am. I love to get things done and not wait around for them to happen. Probably my favorite thing to do is just have fun. Getting swept up in a moment and just rolling with it is always the best, I'm a child at heart and love just having fun. Thats probably not the best thing considering I'm supposed to be the most mature equine here, being the lead and all, but I'm not real into being strict. Hmm. My loves. Well, right now I don't really have much, considering I have no mate. But as far as objects or things Iove I have to say I really do love foals. I don't ever have a huge connection with others foals, but I would really love my own. Though obviously you know how well that worked out with Kinzie. Summer is my favorite as I really love the heat, I enjoy everything alive and green plus all the fun that summer brings with it."
He paused and took a breath while looking to Bones to make sure she was still listening to him and not bored to death, but hey, she had asked. Quickly, he finished up. "As for future plans, well I'm not exactaly sure. I guess I go with the flow too, but sometimes I'd like to speed up the flow. I'd love to fall in love again as I really do hate being alone, its just not me. I'd love to start a family and just be happy to live out the rest of my days here at the helm of this herd. Though, with my luck lately it looks like that is all years away unfortunately."
That was where he stopped, he didn't want to drive her to leave by boredom, or scaring her, but that was all the truth right from his heart, and how he really felt and acted. It didn't get much more real then that. Now he wasn't sure much of what to say or do. He had only hoped he didn't drive Bones away as he really enjoyed having someone to talk to. Though one more question pressed at his mind that he just wanted to ask.. Thus, he spit it out, hesitantly.
"Bones, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you? It doesn't change anything of course, but you know, I'll end up asking everyone in the herd the same question too, so its not just you." He finished. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable really with how out of the blue the question was...

Nobody's gunna hold your hand and guide you through It's up to you to understand.
On any other day, Friar would've avoided the Envious lands altogether. So, earnestly, the present day had thrown him about twenty feet, metaphorically. The Envious lands had been vacant and eerily quiet, lacking much of everything except the remains of a few birds and quite a few red stains in the grass. He wasn't sure if he should have been expecting more, but was silently glad he'd not had to detour around it in hindsight. That didn't mean necessarily that he took his time sweeping through the barren place, because the atmosphere screamed death into all his senses at once. It had been a high risk at the time, one he would only possibly make it out of while still breathing, but proved to have been rather fortunate, that the Envious had wandered off somewhere. Absently he wondered where they'd gone to, but it wasn't generally his business and he frankly didn't care to find out.
Friar felt his stomach loosen its knots as he stalked forward through the chilled air, further and further away from the damned territory. The stallion had been a good navigator when he'd been in the humans' care and was set on the streets near to everyday, but out in the open as he had been for the past two years, he was significantly turned around. He relied almost completely on his sense of smell to direct him through the herd lands, surviving probably by dumb luck or the fact that he towered over most of the horses around. Friar was made to be massive, built to stand well over 17 hands, but out here it was more of an asset, he supposed. He hadn't been bothered even once. It really was for the best that no one met him anyhow, he'd been told he comes off as abrasive anyhow.
Huffing a visible breath of air, the stallion tracked further into what he assumed was the Pure lands, or perhaps just the border. The terrain was drastically more lighthearted than anything he'd ever come across, and he'd be lying if he said he didn't scoff at the irony. Only when several scents hit him all at once did he realize how much closer he'd been than he'd even estimated, and he slowed to a startling halt, silencing everything around him.
Upon listening, he heard only the gusting of cold wind and his own breathing, immediately silencing the latter with his lungs tight in his chest. He could identify mares and stallions alike, one of the males' scents dominating effortlessly over all else. His god-awful internal compass had run him straight into Pure lands, close enough to identify the lead. "Well, I suppose there's no avoiding it," he supplied himself, voice coming out just nearly as rough and haggard as he looked (and felt). He liked to be active, but to an extent he'd surpassed too long ago to remember.
Swishing his tail and putting up his boundaries, Friar took steps forward until he was walking with practiced ease, his eyes telling only that he gave no concern for his trespassing, while it really wasn't so at all. While his movements were fluid, they had undertone of stiffness and discomfort as always, standing just that much taller than necessary to convince himself of the part he was playing since he could even remember. His ears swiveled back to disinterest, tail swinging and lethargic behind his frame. He still had little to no idea of where the equine even stood in their land, and yet to his outside it looked as if he knew more than even that. His eyes scowled on their own, thinning skeptically as his appearance turned sour and distasteful. It was the only defense mechanism he'd ever been taught. Friar faught to arch his neck stiffly, like he were hooked up with purpose to a carriage alongside another robotic version of himself. The way he once was. Breathing out a rebellious huff of air, the built stallion gave a rasping snort.
Nobody's gunna feel your pain, when all is done and it's time for you to walk away.

Take me to the stars. ------------------- Don't ever let me go. -------------------
Hael's mind fell silent for once, her thoughts and body still numb to everything that had just happened. She couldn't believe that Slade had given up on her. She felt so abandoned and stupid. She walked along the outer trees, her pale coat clearly visible within the darkness. She did not try to make herself visible, but she did not try to hide. Her feathered legs carried her swiftly and silently, maneuvering around trees with surprising grace. Grace that she's never had. It was like she was in a dream, but still awake. The wind whispered in her ears, telling her things of the unknown lands and secrets within the trees. She heard the leaves rustling about the ground, the snow too heavy for them to lift up. She kind of felt like them: the leaves. With a bundle of snow on her back that she couldn't lift off. It was a burden knowing that she most likely will be alone. She didn't expect Tilney to even like her, or want her. She never even had the thought. Lost in her thoughts once again, she unknowingly stepped onto an ice patch, her small hooves losing her balance and before she knew it, she was on the ground, camouflaging within the snow. A strange pain streaked across her belly, and a weird tingling sensation ran through her veins. She was utterly confused. She wasn't hungry, and she wasn't full. She felt fine, other than the strange feeling. She laid in the snow, not bothering to get up, but stayed there, confused, and once again, lost in her thoughts.

tags; Slade, Frair, and Hael notes; She’s so awkward. words; 1088
Bones happily listened to everything he had to say, eyes intent on him as he spoke. When he spoke about his attitude and how he felt about others, she could understand that. She could see it happening, but she never wanted to see it firsthand. Well not towards her anyway, she never wanted Slade mad at her. She never wanted anyone mad at her though. She already knew he was impatient, as he explained that earlier with the whole love thing. He liked to push it and move fast, and that worried her right now. She didn’t want to be the next mare Slade set his sights on, and then have something terrible happen.
Slade then began to talk about love, her ears perking up as she listened to what he had to say. He seemed like he would make a wonderful mate once he found one, but he just had to find the right one. Once he did she was sure that they would last forever and he would make the best mate to that special someone. The fact he loved foals was bound to make some mare happy, a mare that wanted a family. She switched her train of thought when he started talking about just having fun and loving the summer. She also loved to have fun with others, or the few friends that she had made on the way here. Summer though, was sometimes too hot for her. Unless she could lay down in a nice cool creek and relax. She loved that a lot.
The brindle mare was still intently listening when he paused, glancing back up at him and into his eyes. She waited for him to continue, her ears perking up when she heard his low voice once more. Slade’s future seemed to solely revolve around finding a mate and starting a family, and she really hoped that her friendship with him would not be misunderstood. She didn’t want him to end up searching so hard that he found something where there really wasn’t something.
Once he was done speaking she just found herself thinking about it all, she really did like speaking with him. He was an interesting equine and he was full of surprises, and she was willing to risk him looking too far into their friendship so she could still stick around and speak with him. She really enjoyed their conversations, and didn’t want to push him away. Right now anyway, if he started trying for something else than she would have to promptly squish those dreams.
Her blue orbs focused back on his when she heard his velvet voice, listening to his question. A perplexed little look crossed her features as he asked his questions. It wasn’t the question, but it was the reassurance that he would be asking everyone else the same question. Almost like he was trying to cover it up by acting like it was normal. She shook it off though, “I’m four years old…” She said easily as she watched him, gauging his reaction to what she had said.
A soft breeze picked up then as she waited to see what he did, picking up her red mane and blowing it in the wind for a bit. She took a deep breath in, looking up and around as she picked up a very feint scent. Had she really smelt something, or was she imagining it? “I think there is another stallion in the area Slade…” she murmured softly, slight bit of worry on her voice. Sometimes lone stallions were up to nothing good when it came to being this close to other herds. Slade could handle his own though, that she was sure off. The stallion was probably passing through and it would be nothing but a quick chat and he would be on his way.
It was also at this very time she could see Hael getting up and walking, and she knew that she needed to go speak to her. The sooner she went to speak to her, the better it would be. She was just hoping the mare would understand and not be angry with her, because she really just wanted to be friends. She wanted to be friends with everyone here and be close to them all. Like a big family, just as Slade had said. “While you go check that out I am going to go talk to Hael, you can come join us afterwards if you would like,” She murmured, throwing one last glance at him before she trotted off.
Bones followed Hael silently, a short gasp slipping through her lips when she saw the mare fall. She hurried over to her, dipping her head down and her eyes looking at her with concern. “Oh my…are you okay Hael? I saw you fall…” She said, soft voice laced with concern and worry. She hoped she had not hurt herself or her future foal. She waited for the mare before she finally took a deep breath and began her little speech.
“I just came over here to clear up what had happened earlier. I understand you are going through a lot and I don’t want to hold that against you, but what happened really bothered me. I am not trying to steal Slade or even become his mate, right now I am just trying to make friends. I honestly just want to be friends with everyone here, and would not want you to hold something like being friends with Slade against me. I understand what happened has hurt you a lot, but I feel like I have to constantly look over my shoulder while I’m talking to Slade so you won’t get mad at me. I just want you to know that I am not trying anything with Slade, and I want you to know that you won’t be angry with me if I continue being his friends…or if something even happens in the future,” She said quietly, regretting the last words as soon as they were out of her mouth.
She shouldn’t have said that, it was foolish of her. There just went her whole apology, Hael was never going to forgive her and she could understand why. She was overthinking everything with Slade and nothing was going to happen between them, so adding those last words were just going to cause unneeded hurt towards Hael and probably more anger. Bones she truly horrible in awkward and sensitive subjects, she never dealt with this kind of stuff.

Take me to the stars. ------------------- Don't ever let me go. -------------------
'“Oh my…are you okay Hael? I saw you fall…”'
The cremello mare awoke to another mare's words. Opening her eyes, she realized it was the new mare Bones. Hael still felt bad about her outbreak to Bones, but she couldn't still help but feel some envy pushing towards her. She saw how Slade had looked at her already, and it hurt her even more. She stumbled to her feet, getting a chill as the snow pressed to her side melted into her thick pelt. She shook, releasing the snow back to ground and watching with icy eyes as it glistened in the air. As she shook, her stomach ceased and growled in discomfort, and a pained expression creased her face. Soon she was interrupted with Bones' words, and turned to face her.
'"I am not trying to steal Slade or even become his mate, right now I am just trying to make friends. I honestly just want to be friends with everyone here, and would not want you to hold something like being friends with Slade against me."'
A pang shot through Hael's mind at her words. She wasn't trying to steal Slade? Like Slade was even Hael's to steal from.
"You can be friends with whomever you please, Bones. Slade isn't even mine to steal. He never was... So don't worry."
She found herself interrupting Bones mid- sentence. She didn't mean for her words to come out so harsh, but they did, and she immediately regretted them. She couldn't do this again, she couldn't explode like she did before. She smiled, glancing at Bones as if she didn't mean for her words to come out like that.
'"I just want you to know that I am not trying anything with Slade, and I want you to know that you won’t be angry with me if I continue being his friends…or if something even happens in the future."'
She snorted with surprise at her last words. If something happens in the future? She remembered when she dreamed of a future with Slade. With foals running around and picking from the apple trees once again. Slade grabbing the highest, most juiciest apple from the tree just like he did before. She quickly snapped back to reality, turning to face Bones again. She knew she couldn't let the words hurt her anymore. She knew she couldn't think about Slade the way she did anymore. She knew Slade would eventually find a mate. He was good looking and charming. Hell, he took her heart right from the get-go and fought for it until Tilney came along. Hael forced a smile, creasing her eyes to force sincerity and a genuine expression. With a soft velvet voice, she spoke once again.
"Bones. I am not mad at you for anything. I should be the one apologizing for my behavior when we first met. I am truly sorry for that, but you don't need to worry about me or what I think. Even if you decide to...er.. become mate with Slade... I will be fine. And I would be glad to be your friend."
